We're not far from the midway point of the 2025 NFL season, with another full slate of matchups set to kick off Thursday. At this point in the schedule, winning games isn't the only challenge; so is staying healthy. All 32 teams are in a war of attrition, and not every club has been fortunate enough to escape serious bumps and bruises on the medical front.

Just this past week, in fact, several big names were forced out of action, including Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans. Accordingly, a handful of teams are set to rely heavily on backups and emergency fill-ins in Week 8, including for Thursday's upcoming battle between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers, which will feature another start for Carson Wentz under center.

Which teams are facing the most injury concerns this week? And which ones are relatively healthy? We've got you covered below with the latest news on notable injuries for every single matchup on the Week 8 slate:

Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell already declared Carson Wentz his starting quarterback for the fourth straight week, with J.J. McCarthy still recovering from an ankle sprain. McCarthy, meanwhile, will serve as the emergency No. 3 signal-caller behind Wentz and undrafted rookie Max Brosmer, just as he did in Week 7.

Chargers offensive tackle Joe Alt (ankle) is questionable for Thursday night after not having suited up since Week 5 because of the injury. Offensive tackle Austin Deculus (ankle), Alt's backup, is also questionable. With Hassan Haskins (hamstring) ruled out and both first-round rookie Omarion Hampton and veteran Najee Harris on injured reserve, 2024 sixth-round pick Kimani Vidal is line to start at running back for the Chargers in Week 8.

Buffalo Bills (-7) at Carolina Panthers

Buffalo had a couple of notable veterans limited at practice on Wednesday, including receiver Curtis Samuel (neck), tight end Dalton Kincaid (oblique) and linebacker Matt Milano (pectoral). Speedy wideout Josh Palmer (ankle) remained sidelined, suggesting he's in danger of missing this matchup.

Carolina quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) didn't practice on Wednesday after suffering the injury in the team's Week 7 win at the New York Jets. However, head coach Dave Canales still views Young as "day to day" per ESPN. Cornerback Jaycee Horn was limited with a vet rest day while guard Damien Lewis (shoulder) and linebacker Princely Umanmielen (ribs) were the only players who limited with injuries.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5)

The Giants have three of their top defenders sidelined with day-to-day injuries, as pass-rusher Brian Burns (foot), cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee) and safety Jevon Holland (knee) all sat out Wednesday's practice. Regular kicker Graham Gano, meanwhile, is slated to make his return from injured reserve. On the other side, the Eagles are set to be without reserve edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, though it's unclear if Brandon Graham will suit up days after returning from retirement. Wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) also didn't practice on Wednesday.

Chicago Bears at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

The Ravens may be getting a massive boost under center, with former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson returning to practice Wednesday. Jackson was limited, but the fact he participated at all suggests he's on the right track to suiting up for the first time since exiting a Week 4 loss with a hamstring injury. The Ravens have gone 0-2 without him.

The Bears were without a handful of key contributors at practice on Wednesday with wide receiver DJ Moore (hip), cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder), running back D'Andre Swift (groin), tight end Cole Kmet (back) and running back Roschon Johnson (back) all sidelined to begin the week. Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) and offensive lineman Braxton Jones (knee) were both limited.

New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)

Head coach Aaron Glenn has yet to formally announce the Jets' starting quarterback, but veteran Tyrod Taylor (knee) should be good to go if he's officially promoted over Justin Fields. His top wideout, Garrett Wilson, is considered day-to-day with his own knee issue. Cornerback Sauce Gardner (concussion), like Wilson, also didn't practice on Wednesday. Running back Breece Hall (knee) and edge rusher Jermaine Johnson II (ankle) were both limited.

The Bengals were without just two players in practice on Wednesday: edge rusher Cam Sample (knee) and cornerback Marco Wilson (hamstring). Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson (hip) was limited.

Cleveland Browns at New England Patriots (-7)

Browns tight end David Njoku is set to practice despite a knee injury this week, though rookie Harold Fannin Jr. has since emerged as the club's top option at the position. Top wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (knee) didn't practice on Wednesday while top cornerback Denzel Ward (hip) did so as a limited participant.

Patriots No. 1 wide receiver Stefon Diggs (chest) was a limited participant in New England on Wednesday while linebacker Elijah Ponder (knee) and safety Craig Woodson (ankle) were the only players who didn't practice.

San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans (-1.5)

C.J. Stroud could be without both of his top wideouts, with Nico Collins in concussion protocol and still sidelined Wednesday alongside Christian Kirk, who missed the last game with a lingering hamstring injury.

Two of the San Francisco 49ers most important players, running back Christian McCaffrey and left tackle Trent Williams, both didn't practice on Wednesday because the team gave them vet rest days. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) did miss practice because of an injury as did defensive back Deommodore Lenoir (quadricep), defensive lineman Bryce Huff (hamstring), defensive lineman Yetur Gross-Matos (knee/hamstring) and offensive lineman Jake Brendel (hamstring).

Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons (-7.5)

After a hot start as a red-zone target, Dolphins tight end Darren Waller is now sidelined indefinitely after Miami placed the veteran on injured reserve with a pectoral issue.

The Atlanta Falcons had just three players miss practice on Wednesday: rookie edge rusher Jalon Walker (groin), linebacker Divine Deablo (forearm) and defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring). Offensive tackle Jake Matthews (ankle), running back Tyler Allgeier (hip/knee) and wide receiver Darnell Mooney (hamstring) were all limited.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5) at New Orleans Saints

The Buccaneers will be without top wide receiver Mike Evans after the veteran suffered a concussion and broken collarbone in Week 7. Tampa Bay will also be missing starting running back Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) and wideout Chris Godwin (fibula), coach Todd Bowles announced, with pass rusher Haason Reddick (ankle, knee) also likely to sit out. Linebacker Lavonte David (knee/rib), wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (hamstring), running back Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder), edge rusher Haason Reddick (ankle/knee) and backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (teeth) all didn't practice on Wednesday.

The New Orleans Saints were without three players on Wednesday: wide receiver Chris Olave (ankle), cornerback Alontae Taylor (personal matter) and edge rusher Chase Young (illness). Running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) and tight end Juwan Johnson (neck) were both limited.

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts (-14)

The Titans could have a tough time slowing the Colts' balanced offense, with interior star Jeffery Simmons (hamstring) considered week-to-week and No. 1 cover man L'Jarius Sneed (quadriceps) also facing an uncertain return timeline. Sneed (quadricep), defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (hamstring), wide receiver Calvin Ridley (hamstring), running back Tony Pollard (vet rest day), guard Kevin Zeitler (vet rest day) and edge rusher Arden Key (quadricep) were all among the notables who didn't practice.

The Indianapolis Colts were without four players at practice on Wednesday: Offensive tackle Braden Smith (vet rest day), cornerback Kenny Moore II (Achilles), edge rusher Tyquan Lewis (groin) and edge rusher Samson Ebukam (knee). Wide receiver Josh Downs (concussion) was a limited participant.

Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos (-3.5)

The Dallas Cowboys were without two starting defensive backs at practice on Wednesday: cornerback Trevon Diggs (concussion) and safety Donovan Wilson (elbow/shoulder). Center Cooper Beebe (ankle), cornerback Shavon Revel (knee) and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (knee) were all limited in practice with all three beginning their 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve on Wednesday. Overshown said he would begin participating in team drills on Thursday. Defensive tackle Kenny Clark (elbow) was also limited after suffering the injury on Sunday vs. the Washington Commanders.

The Denver Broncos only listed two players are their entire injury report on Wednesday: outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (shoulder) was limited, and offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey (foot/ankle) practiced fully.

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers

Fortunately for the Packers, the wide receiver room is deep, as Dontayvion Wicks (calf) didn't suit up for Wednesday's practice. Starter Jayden Reed remains on injured reserve, leaving Romeo Doubs and Matthew Golden as the top pass-catchers alongside tight end Tucker Kraft. Green Bay may see explosive wide receiver Christian Watson return to the lineup this week after he tore his ACL in Week 18 last season. Watson practiced in a limited fashion on Wednesday. As for the rest of the offensive notables, guard Aaron Banks (groin), tackle Anthony Belton (ankle), running back Josh Jacobs (calf) and right tackle Zach Tom (back) were all limited. Defensively, edge rusher Lukas Van Ness (foot) didn't practice, but defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt (knee), safety Evan Williams (back), safety Xavier McKinney (ankle/knee) and cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee) were all limited. Starting kicker Brandon McManus (right quadricep) missed practice.

Pittsburgh, meanwhile, should have deep threat Calvin Austin III (shoulder) back in action since he practiced fully on Wednesday. Center Zach Frazier (calf) was the only player limited while both edge rusher T.J. Watt and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward didn't participate with vet rest days.

Washington Commanders at Kansas City Chiefs (-12.5)

Star quarterback Jayden Daniels just returned from a knee sprain not long ago. Now the starting signal-caller will sit out Week 8 after exiting Washington's last game with a hamstring issue. Coach Dan Quinn told reporters the new injury is not serious, but that means veteran backup Marcus Mariota will be tasked with trying to upset the reigning AFC champions on the road. He should at least have top receivers Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel (heel) back in the fold.
