  • Chiefs' Drue Tranquill: Dealing with back spasms

Tranquil is currently dealing with back spasms, Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star reports

Tranquill popped up on the injury report Wednesday, and there's currently no timetable for his return. Once healthy, the 30-year-old will once again serve as one of the Chiefs' starting linebackers during the upcoming season.

  • Chiefs' Jeffrey Bassa: Dealing with groin injury

Bassa is currently dealing with a groin injury, Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star reports.

Bassa suffered a groin strain that has limited his participation in training camp. Once healthy, the 2025 fifth-round pick is expected to serve as a depth linebacker during the upcoming campaign.

  • Chiefs' Mansoor Delane: Still nursing shoulder issue

Delane (shoulder) was limited at the Chiefs' training camp practice Wednesday, Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star reports.

Delane has been dealing with a shoulder injury since June, and it's still bothering him with the regular season just a little more than a month away. Until he's back to full strength, 2025 third-rounder Nohl Williams is a candidate to see more practice reps with the first-team secondary.

  • Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Continues to miss practice

Worthy (shoulder) remained sidelined at practice Wednesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Per Nate Taylor of ESPN.com, Coach Andy Reid noted Monday that he expects Worthy -- who is dealing with a sprained shoulder -- to return to practice later this week, which indicates that the issue isn't viewed as a major concern. The wideout thus remains in the day-to-day category ahead of the Chiefs' preseason opener, Aug. 15 against the Rams.

  • Chiefs' Rashee Rice: Joins 11-on-11 drills

Rice (knee) is participating in 11-on-11 drills at Wednesday's practice, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com reports.

Per Taylor, it's the first time in training camp that the wideout has done so, as he continues to work his way back from an offseason knee procedure. It remains to be seen how much, if any, preseason action Rice sees, but assuming he experiences no setbacks ahead of Week 1, he's slated to maintain his key role as a starter in a Chiefs' WR corps that also features Xavier Worthy (shoulder), with Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals and Cyrus Allen (shin) also in the mix for targets that don't go to the top duo.

  • Chiefs' Jeff Weimer: Signs with KC

Weimer signed with the Chiefs on Monday, Jordan Foote of SI.com reports.

The wide receiver joined the team after Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and Cyrus Allen (shin) suffered injuries during weekend practices, per Foote. Weimer caught 21 passes for 383 yards and two touchdowns for West Virginia last season. He likely faces an uphill battle to make the Chiefs, especially once Worthy and Allen return.

  • Chiefs' Cyrus Allen: Expected back this week

Coach Andy Reid noted Monday that he expects Allen (shin) to return to practice later this week, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com reports.

The same applies to fellow WR Xavier Worthy, who is dealing with a sprained shoulder. Allen suffered a shin bruise on his left leg during Saturday's training camp practice, but based on Reid's comment Monday, it's not a serious issue for the 2026 fifth-rounder. Once Allen is able to work fully, he'll continue to compete with Tyquan Thornton and Jalen Royals for depth chart slotting behind Rashee Rice and Worthy.

  • Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Dealing with sprained shoulder

Coach Andy Reid noted Monday that Worthy, who is dealing with a sprained shoulder, needs "a day or two" before returning to practice, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Initial reports after Worthy left Saturday's training camp practice due to his shoulder injury were that the wideout had avoided a serious issue, and Reid's comment on the matter Monday supports that notion. For now, consider Worthy day-to-day as the Chiefs' Aug. 15 preseason opener approaches.

  • Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Avoids serious injury

Worthy is believed to avoided a serious shoulder injury that he sustained during the final session of Saturday's training camp practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

It looks like Worthy's removal from Saturday's practice was precautionary, seeing as the third-year wideout underwent surgery in the offseason to repair a torn labrum that stemmed from a dislocated shoulder that he suffered during Week 1 of the 2025 season. Worthy will be closely monitored over the next several days but could be cleared to return to practice before the Chiefs' first preseason game against the Rams on Saturday, Aug. 15. Kansas City also got news regarding fifth-round rookie wideout Cyrus Allen, who is considered day-to-day due to a shin bruise that he suffered during a special-teams drill.

  • Chiefs' Cyrus Allen: Diagnosed with shin bruise

Allen was diagnosed with a shin bruise on his left leg that he suffered during Saturday's training camp practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

It's a best-case scenario for the rookie fifth-rounder, who had to be carted off the field after sustaining the injury on a special teams drill. Per Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star, the Chiefs consider Allen day-to-day, which puts the young wideout on track to be available for the team's preseason opener against the Rams on Saturday, Aug. 15.

  • Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Exits practice with shoulder injury

Worthy left Saturday's training camp practice due to a shoulder injury, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.

It's unclear whether Worthy's injury is to the same shoulder that he underwent offseason surgery for to repair a torn labrum. He'll continue to be evaluated by medical staff to determine the severity of the injury, but with both Worthy and Cyrus Allen (lower leg) leaving Saturday's practice early, there could be more offensive snaps on the table for the likes of Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals, Nikko Remigio and Jason Brownlee.
