Buccaneers' Jalen McMillan: Sees little action in 2026 debut
McMillan didn't record any targets and played just seven of Tampa Bay's 65 offensive snaps in Sunday's Week 2 loss to Cleveland.
The good news is that McMillan was able to suit up after dealing with a knee injury that caused him to be inactive Week 1 against Cincinnati. It was anticipated that the 24-year-old would be on a snap count upon his return, and that's exactly how things played out, with McMillan's meager seven offensive snaps trailing all of fellow wideouts Emeka Egubka (56), Chris Godwin (56), Ted Hurst (48) and Tex Johnson (19). McMillan figures to gradually ramp up his playing time in the weeks to come, though he could again be held back enough Week 3 versus Minnesota to make him a poor option in fantasy.

Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: Sees seven targets from Mayfield in Week 2
Hurst caught two passes on seven targets for 27 yards during the Buccaneers' 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Hurst was listed as a starter alongside Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka for Sunday's game, with Hurst playing 48 of 65 offensive snaps (73.8 percent). The rookie third-rounder caught passes of 21 and six yards from Baker Mayfield, though Hurst was also targeted on a ball that was intercepted by Myles Harden late in the first quarter. Hurst will take a 5-63-0 receiving line (on 10 targets) into a Week 3 home tilt against the Vikings on Sept. 27.

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Leads Bucs with five catches in Week 2 loss
Otton caught five of six targets for 38 yards during the Buccaneers' 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Four of the five passes Otton caught went for 10 yards or less, but he still led all Bucs pass catchers with five receptions while finishing third in receiving yards to Tez Johnson (49) and Chris Godwin (46). Otton played 58 of 65 offensive snaps (89.2 percent) and has served as security blanket in the passing game for Baker Mayfield. That said, Otton may be used more as a pass blocker Week 3 against the Vikings and their blitz-happy defense under defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Little production again in Week 2
Godwin caught all three of his targets for 46 yards in Tampa Bay's 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday. He added 12 rushing yards on one attempt.
Godwin's three targets were seventh on the team and "good" for just an 8.8 percent share on a day Baker Mayfield attempted 34 passes. However, the veteran wide receiver's 37 routes were just one fewer than Emeka Egbuka for the team lead. Godwin has suffered several lower-body injuries to this point in his career, it's becoming a concern that he may just not have it anymore at 30.5 years old. Through two games, he has seven catches for 86 scoreless yards and 15 rushing yards.

Buccaneers' Kenny Gainwell: Totals 15 yards in loss
Gainwell rushed two times for 10 yards in Sunday's 23-19 loss to the Browns. He added three catches for five yards on four targets.
The 27-year-old's role through two games with Tampa Bay has been a far cry from his elite pass-catching role alongside Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh last season. Bucky Irving out-carried Gainwell 17 to two against Cleveland, and he's been out-targeted 11 to five by Irving through two contests. Gainwell has shown no chance at a ceiling performance with Baker Mayfield and has devolved to RB4 territory until he shows up more in the box score.

Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Shows off leg in Week 2 loss
McLaughlin made all four of his field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try during the Buccaneers' 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
McLaughlin ended up contributing 13 of the Buccaneers' 19 points during Sunday's loss, which included a nearly two-hour delay due to inclement weather. He got the Buccaneers on the board early with a 59-yard field goal before connecting on a 45-yard kick and two 31-yard tries. McLaughlin's four made field goals were his most in a game since Week 3 of the 2025 season (five), and his 13 made field goals of 50-plus yards since the start of last year are most in the NFL.

Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield: Falls flat in revenge game
Mayfield completed 21 of 34 passes for 182 yards with one touchdown and one interception while adding four rushes for 29 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
There had been buzz surrounding Mayfield's matchup against the team that drafted him first overall in 2018, but the veteran signal-caller couldn't deliver a revenge victory. Mayfield looked surprisingly out of sorts most of the afternoon against a Browns defense that had been dominated by the Jaguars in Week 1, and after an extensive weather delay, he went just 1-for-4 for six yards once play resumed at the two-minute warning with the Buccaneers at Cleveland's 28-yard line and needing a touchdown. Mayfield added another turnover on his late first-quarter interception as well, putting him firmly in the spotlight heading into a Week 3 home date against an aggressive Vikings defense next Sunday.

Buccaneers' Emeka Egbuka: Salvages day with second-half TD
Egbuka brought in three of five targets for 16 yards and a touchdown while rushing once for minus-3 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Egbuka's minimal role was surprising, as he finished third in receptions and targets while slotting in all the way down at fifth in receiving yards for the Bucs on the afternoon. Egbuka's one redeeming play was his five-yard touchdown grab early in the third quarter, but otherwise, his quiet performance mirrored the fortunes of his team in the upset loss. Egbuka will look to spearhead a much better offensive effort for Tampa Bay when an aggressive Vikings defense comes to town for a Week 3 clash next Sunday.

Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Efficient rushing day in loss
Irving rushed 17 times for 89 yards and brought in all four of his targets for one yard in the Buccaneers' 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
For the second time in as many games to open the season, Irving put together a crisp performance on the ground, with Sunday's tally spearheaded by a 38-yard run. The third-year back was also regularly involved in the passing game, but he generated next to nothing with his four catches. The Buccaneers are alarmingly 0-2 heading into a Week 3 home matchup against the Vikings next Sunday, but Irving's role as Tampa Bay's workhorse back is unquestioned approaching that critical early-season clash.

Buccaneers' Miles Killebrew: Good to go against Cleveland
Killebrew (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Browns, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Killebrew entered the league's concussion protocol following the Buccaneers' Week 1 loss to the Bengals. He was listed as questionable for Week 2, but after being evaluated by an independent neurologist, Killebrew has been cleared to play in Sunday's home opener.
