Amador is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Phillies.

It's a day off for Amador, who had started each of the previous six games. Aaron Schunk is handling second-base duties and batting eighth for the Rockies in the series finale.

Toglia is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Phillies.

It's the second straight day and third time over the last six games that Toglia has been absent from the Rockies' lineup. The switch hitter does not appear to be injured, so it could be that he's losing his grip on a starting job. Toglia leads all of baseball with 71 strikeouts this season and has struck out at a 41.7 percent clip in May. Kyle Farmer is at first base for a second straight day Thursday.

The Reds announced that Encarnacion-Strand (back) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Shortly after being placed on the injured list April 17 due to lower-back inflammation, Encarnacion-Strand reported to the Reds' spring training facility in Arizona to conduct his rehab program. His back has apparently responded well since he resumed ramping up his baseball activities in recent weeks, and he's now been deemed ready to test himself in a game setting. He'll likely stick around in Arizona for a few games before eventually transferring his rehab assignment to a higher-level affiliate, and a return from the IL by the end of next week could be a possibility if everything goes smoothly. Before landing on the shelf, Encarnacion-Strand had been serving as Cincinnati's primary first baseman but slashed just .158/.183/.298 over 60 plate appearances. With Spencer Steer having since settled in at first base over the past month and having picked up the pace at the plate following a slow start to the season, Encarnacion-Strand may not have an everyday spot in the Cincinnati lineup waiting for him once he returns.

Heyward is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays.

The left-handed-hitting Heyward typically hits the bench when the Padres face southpaws, but the veteran outfielder will get a breather for the day game after a night game while Toronto sends righty Bowden Francis to the hill. Brandon Lockridge will step in as the Padres' starting left fielder in place of Heyward, who is batting just .179 on the season even with San Diego limiting his exposure to left-handed pitching.

Bogaerts is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Toronto.

Bogaerts will be getting just his second day off of the season and his first since April 19. Jose Iglesias will handle shortstop duties and bat eighth for the Padres on Thursday.

Garrett gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless eighth inning Wednesday to record his 11th hold of the season in a win over the Red Sox.

The right-hander is one off the NL lead in holds, trailing the Padres' Jason Adam, the Reds' Tony Santillan and the Brewers' Abner Uribe. Garrett hasn't been quite as dominant this season as he was in his breakout 2024, but he still sports a 0.95 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 19:1 K:BB through 19 innings as a key member of the Mets' setup crew ahead of closer Edwin Diaz.

Brazoban (3-0) picked up the win Wednesday over the Red Sox, striking out four and allowing one hit over 2.1 scoreless innings.

Tylor Megill lasted just 4.2 innings as the Mets' starting pitcher, but Brazoban stepped in to complete the fifth frame and breezed through two more innings, becoming the pitcher of record when New York broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the seventh. The 35-year-old righty has had a fantastic start to the season, posting a 0.90 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 30:8 K:BB through 30 innings while adding six holds and his first career save to his three wins.

Torrens went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.

The 29-year-old catcher has started seven of 19 games in May, hitting safely in the last five while batting. 300 (6-for-20) on the month. Torrens hasn't provided much other production, supplying just one RBI and two runs over that stretch, but half his hits have gone for extra bases (two doubles and a triple) and he sports a 7:4 BB:K. Francisco Alvarez is entrenched as the Mets' starter behind the plate, but Torrens' workload and current form still give him some fantasy value in deep NL-only formats.

Mauricio went 2-for-2 with two walks, a home run and two RBI for Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, his second straight game with a homer.

In three games since joining Syracuse's roster, Mauricio has gone 7-for-11 with a double, two steals and a 2:1 BB:K in addition to the two long balls. Given that the 24-year-old infielder missed the entire 2024 campaign while recovering from knee surgery, however, the Mets aren't going to rush him to the majors, Will Sammon of the Athletic reports. "Where we are right now is we have a player who is medically healthy, who has checked off a lot of the boxes in the rehab progression, has worked really hard to get there," Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said last week. "And now we're working him back into [being] Ronny Mauricio, the baseball player who was on the verge, seemingly, of really breaking out at the major-league level. And that takes some time as well." New York also doesn't have a clear opening for Mauricio in the big-league lineup, and he has yet to play back-to-back nine-inning games on defense this year. Despite his hot start at Triple-A, a return to the majors isn't likely until some time in June at the earliest.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said after Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers that Martinez (shoulder) has a good chance to return from the 15-day injured list for this weekend's series in St. Louis, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Martinez has been on the shelf since May 1 due to right shoulder inflammation, an injury that resulted in a significant drop in velocity in his last couple of relief appearances before he was deactivated. The right-hander seems to have bounced back nicely from the extended rest, as he tossed scoreless innings in both of his minor-league rehab appearances and reached 101.1 miles per hour with his sinker during his most recent outing with Triple-A Reno on Tuesday. Per John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Arizona Sports, Martinez flew back to Phoenix on Wednesday, and assuming the Arizona training staff was satisfied with his health, he'll accompany the Diamondbacks on their road trip and will likely be activated Friday. Martinez should eventually settle back in as the Diamondbacks' preferred option at closer, though it's possible that manager Torey Lovullo chooses to ease him back in with a low-leverage appearance or two.
