With New York having just one hit entering the sixth, Lindor launched a game-tying solo homer off Andrew Alvarez to ignite a four-run stretch over the next two frames. It was his 12th home run of the season and his second in his last four games. Lindor has endured a disappointing offensive campaign, but his recent power surge offers some encouragement as he attempts to improve upon his .240 average and .769 OPS. Lindor made the score look more respectable with a solo home run in the seventh to reduce the Mets' deficit to three runs. It hasn't been a great year at the plate for Lindor, but he appears to be finding his form in the second half of the regular season. He'll end the month of July with an .860 OPS with six home runs and 17 RBI over 107 plate appearances.

Lindor was instrumental in helping New York hang around in the early portion of the game, knocking in his team's first three runs on an RBI triple and a two-run homer. The game was tied 3-3 through five frames, and Lindor added a two-run blast in the eighth inning to cap an 11-run explosion against Atlanta reliever Connor Thomas. Lindor has a trio of three-hit games over 10 contests since the All-Star break, so he may be coming around after a slow start to the campaign. He's still at only eight home runs through 50 contests, so he'd have to finish the season on an absolutely torrid heater to reach 30 long balls for a fourth straight year.

Lindor matched a season high in RBI in what was arguably his best game of the year at the plate, totaling a season-high seven bases. It's been a difficult campaign for the star shortstop amid injury, poor play and trade rumors, so perhaps Sunday's showing will get him going. Through 184 plate appearances, Lindor is slashing .220/.304/.390 with six homers, 18 RBI, two stolen bases and 23 runs scored.

Lindor was responsible for all of New York's offense Sunday -- he opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning before extending the lead to 2-0 in the sixth with a solo shot off Brayan Bello. It's a nice way to head into the All-Star break for Lindor, who'd gone just 2-for-20 in his past six games coming into the day. Overall, he's slashing .216/.298/.373 with five homers, 12 RBI, 22 runs scored and two steals across 171 plate appearances this year.
Lindor is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.
It's a routine day off for Lindor after he started each of the previous nine contests. Lindor is sporting a disappointing .184/.259/.347 batting line across 12 games since coming off the injured list in late June. Bo Bichette will handle shortstop and Mark Vientos will play third base for the Mets in Thursday's series finale.
