Gabriel Moreno ARI C
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Expected back Tuesday
7m agoMoreno (oblique) is on track to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday for the start of the Diamondbacks' road trip, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
Moreno has missed nearly two weeks of action with a left oblique strain, but he has upped his activity level recently and has responded well. It's unclear whether the Diamondbacks will ask Moreno to go out on a short rehab assignment before returning. Arizona has been going with James McCann and Adrian Del Castillo at catcher since Moreno was injured.

Spencer Strider ATL SP
Braves' Spencer Strider: Notches eight Ks in rehab start
10m agoStrider (oblique) struck out eight and permitted one hit and one walk over 4.1 scoreless innings in his rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Gwinnett.
After tossing 3.1 scoreless frames for High-A Rome during his first rehab start last Thursday, Strider moved up a couple levels for his second minor-league outing but was unfazed by the jump in competition. The right-hander pumped in 46 of his 65 pitches for strikes, topping out at 98.1 miles per hour with his fastball and inducing 15 swinging strikes, 10 of which came via his slider. Strider will look to build up to the 80-pitch mark his next time out in what will likely be his final rehab outing in the minors before Atlanta brings him back from the 15-day injured list. He tentatively lines up to make his 2026 MLB debut during Atlanta's three-game series in Colorado next weekend.

Sandy Leon ATL C
Sandy Leon: Pursuing work in Mexico
22m agoLeon is working toward securing his release from Atlanta in order to sign with Mexican League club Sarapelos de Saltillo, baseball journalist Georgeny Perez reports.
Leon saw action in five games at the big-league level with Atlanta in 2025, but even with Sean Murphy (hip) beginning the current season on the injured list, the 37-year-old journeyman backstop was unable to beat out Jonah Heim for the No. 2 catcher spot on the Opening Day roster. After being reassigned to minor-league camp, Leon reported to Triple-A Gwinnett, with whom he's slashed .118/.268/.118 over 41 plate appearances. Expect Leon and Atlanta to finalize a formal agreement to part ways in the coming days.

Ryan Borucki SF RP
Giants' Ryan Borucki: Picks up hold Tuesday
25m agoBorucki earned a hold over a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers, allowing one hit while striking out one.
Borucki entered in the sixth inning and surrendered a double to the second batter he faced but escaped the frame on just 10 pitches, eight of which were strikes. The left-hander has turned in three straight scoreless outings following a three-game stretch in which he allowed four runs over three innings. He now owns a 5.87 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB across 7.2 innings in nine appearances this season.
-
Matt Gage SF RP
Giants' Matt Gage: Earns hold Tuesday
28m agoGage picked up a hold over two-thirds of a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers, issuing one walk.
Gage recorded the first two outs of the seventh inning before allowing a walk and being pulled. He threw seven of his 14 pitches for strikes and earned his third hold of the season. The 33-year-old southpaw now owns a 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB across 10 innings in 11 outings.

Quinn Priester MIL SP
Brewers' Quinn Priester: Kicking off rehab assignment
29m agoPriester (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Priester has been on the shelf all season while recovering from symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome in his right wrist, but he's made enough progress with his throwing program to advance to final stage of the rehab process. The right-hander will likely need to complete multiple starts before returning from the 15-day injured list, potentially in early May. As the Milwaukee rotation currently stands now, Brandon Sproat (6.88 ERA, 1.71 WHIP in 17 innings) would likely be most at risk of losing his spot once Priester is activated.

Tyler Stephenson CIN C
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Receiving breather Wednesday
2h agoStephenson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
Stephenson had started behind the plate in each of the Reds' last five games, so he'll get some rest Wednesday while Cincinnati closes out its series at Tampa with a day game after a night game. P.J. Higgins will handle catching duties for the Reds.
-
Yainer Diaz HOU C
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Receiving breather Wednesday
2h agoDiaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Christian Vazquez will receive a turn behind the dish for the matinee game while Diaz rests after catching each of the Astros' last three contests. Diaz recorded a hit in each of those games, but he's still been a disappointment for fantasy managers through the first four weeks of the season with a .197 average, one home run, 10 RBI and five runs over 18 games.
-
Adrian Del Castillo ARI C
Diamondbacks' Adrian Del Castillo: Scoring change removes two RBI
5h agoDel Castillo lost a triple and two RBI as the result of a scoring change, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.
Del Castillo logged his first career triple to drive in two runs in a win over Baltimore on April 15, but MLB changed the scoring on the play to an error. Thus, a five-RBI day was lowered to three, and the catcher still seeks a triple. Del Castillo is slashing .263/.282/.395 with one home run and nine RBI over 10 games played.
-
Cal Raleigh SEA C
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Goes deep again Tuesday
10h agoRaleigh went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.
Raleigh accounted for Seattle's only extra-base hit of the game with a solo homer in the fifth inning. It was the star catcher's second long ball in as many days after going deep just twice over his first 23 contests of the campaign. Raleigh is still sporting a meager .177/.266/.333 slash line and 30.3 percent strikeout rate, but his recent power surge could be an indication that he's beginning to turn things around at the plate.
-
Dustin Harris HOU 1B
Astros' Dustin Harris: Not starting Wednesday
2h agoHarris (hand) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Harris had started in the Astros' first two games of the series and went 0-for-4 with a walk and two runs before being forced out of Tuesday's 8-5 loss in the bottom of the fifth inning after being hit in the left hand by a pitch in the top of the frame. Though the Astros have classified Harris' hand injury as a bruise, he's feeling sore enough that he'll be held out of the lineup Wednesday against a right-hander (Tanner Bibee). Houston will go with a starting outfield of Brice Matthews, Daniel Johnson and Cam Smith from left to right in the series finale.
-
Rhys Hoskins CLE 1B
Guardians' Rhys Hoskins: Out of lineup again
3h agoHoskins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Astros.
After starting four straight contests, Hoskins has now been out of the lineup for two straight. Jose Ramirez will receive a start at designated hitter, while Daniel Schneemann will occupy third base for the Guardians in Wednesday's rubber match.
-
Munetaka Murakami CHW 1B
White Sox's Munetaka Murakami: Homers yet again Tuesday
10h agoMurakami went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Tuesday's 11-5 victory versus the Diamondbacks.
Murakami belted a 426-foot solo shot in the second inning for the first of back-to-back-to back homers for Chicago. The Japanese slugger has gone deep in four straight games to raise his season total to nine long balls, tied for second-most in the league. Murakami is also striking out at a 31.3 percent rate, but he's paired that with 21 walks -- tied for third-most in the league -- and appears to have a handle on MLB pitching in his first year in MLB.
-
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. TOR 1B
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Extends hitting streak to 12 games
12h agoGuerrero went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored during the Blue Jays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday.
Guerrero extended his hitting streak to 12 games thanks to his infield single in the sixth inning, and he was brought home both times he reached base during Tuesday's contest. He's been one of the hottest players at the plate in the majors this season, and during this 12-game hitting streak, Guerrero has gone 21-for-47 (.447) with one steal, one home run, eight RBI and 10 runs scored.
-
Jonathan Aranda TB 1B
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Hits two-run homer in loss
13h agoAranda went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, three RBI, two walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's 12-6 loss to the Reds.
After Chase Burns had breezed through five shutout innings, Aranda saw the right-hander for the third time Tuesday and took him deep on a slider. It snapped Aranda's 12-game homerless drought, and it was just his second extra-base hit since April 7. The first baseman is now slashing .229/.356/.422 with four homers, 19 RBI, 13 runs scored and an 18:3 BB:K across 104 plate appearances.
-
Sal Stewart CIN 1B
Reds' Sal Stewart: Drives in three Tuesday
14h agoStewart went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and three RBI in Tuesday's 12-6 win over the Rays.
Stewart walked and stole his sixth base of the season in the top of the first inning. He later singled home a pair and had a sacrifice fly, driving in his league-leading 24th run of the season. Stewart has gone 4-for-8 with one home run, five RBI, two steals and two runs scored in two games against the Rays to begin the week. He now has eight multi-hit games this season and is slashing .299/.394/.632 with eight homers, 24 RBI, 17 runs scored, six stolen bases and a 5:18 BB:K across 104 plate appearances.
-
Jeff McNeil ATH 2B
Athletics' Jeff McNeil: Blasts first homer Tuesday
2h agoMcNeil went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Mariners.
McNeil connected on his first homer of 2026, sending a Luis Castillo changeup over the right-field fence for a solo shot in the fourth inning. The second baseman isn't known for his power and hasn't provided much in that department, but he has been solid to start his first season with the Athletics, slashing .278/.361/.389 with a homer, five doubles, five RBI and seven runs across 23 contests.
-
Connor Norby MIA 2B
Marlins' Connor Norby: Receiving breather Wednesday
2h agoNorby is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Liam Hicks will fill in at first base for Norby, who will receive a rest for the matinee game after starting in each of the Marlins' previous 11 contests while slashing .282/.326/.436 with one home run, five RBI and three runs. Christopher Morel (oblique) could soon return from the injured list and unseat Norby as the Marlins' primary first baseman, though Norby could still have a path to receiving steady reps at either third base or designated hitter.
-
Brice Turang MIL 2B
Brewers' Brice Turang: Drives in four in Tuesday's rout
3h agoTurang went 2-for-5 with four RBI in Tuesday's 12-4 win over the Tigers.
A bases-loaded single in the second inning brought home two runs, and Turang added two more RBI with a single in the seven and a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The second baseman had a breakout 2025, but he may not have found his ceiling yet -- through 20 games to begin the current campaign he's slashing .307/.430/.560 with 10 extra-base hits including four homers, plus six steals, 18 RBI and 19 runs.
-
Michael Massey KC 2B
Royals' Michael Massey: Blasts clutch homer in win
10h agoMassey went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Orioles.
Massey delivered a clutch swing in the eighth inning, launching a game-tying solo-home run off Rico Garcia for his first long ball of the season, setting the stage for Kansas City's walk-off victory. The second baseman also recorded a double earlier in the game as part of a much needed two-hit performance. Massey has struggled since being brought back from the injured list, now slashing just .207/.226/.414 with three doubles and four RBI across 31 plate appearances.
-
Lenyn Sosa TOR 2B
Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Drives in two runs as pinch hitter
12h agoSosa went 1-for-1 with a two-run double during the Blue Jays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday.
Sosa pinch hit for Jesus Sanchez in the eighth inning and made the most of his opportunity by smacking a two-run double off Drew Pomeranz to put the Blue Jays up 3-1. Since being acquired from the White Sox on April 13, Sosa has gone 4-for-14 (.286) with two doubles and four RBI, and he has given his new team a solid boost at the plate in the absences of both George Springer (toe) and Addison Barger (ankles).
-
Luis Garcia WAS 2B
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Season-high four hits Tuesday
13h agoGarcia went 4-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, three RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 11-4 win over Atlanta.
Garcia had a total of four hits in his previous 13 games combined, so Tuesday's performance was a big boon to his batting average. After recording multiple hits in three of the Nationals' first eight games, Garcia had been just 5-for-43 (.116) at the plate over the last 14 games prior to Tuesday's season-high four hits. Garcia is now slashing .247/.284/.364 with one home run, 15 RBI, 10 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 4:12 BB:K across 81 trips to the plate.
-
Ryan Kreidler MIN 3B
Twins' Ryan Kreidler: Optioned to Triple-A
1h agoThe Twins optioned Kreidler to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
He's clearing out to make room on the roster for the arrival of Connor Prielipp, who will start Wednesday's game versus the Mets. Kreidler has been productive in his brief time in the majors this season, going 3-for-14 with two home runs and a 4:3 BB:K. He should get another chance later this summer.
-
Ben Williamson TB 3B
Rays' Ben Williamson: Fading into platoon role
1h agoWilliamson will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Williamson had been on the bench for each of the last four games while the Rays faced right-handed starting pitchers, but he'll slot back into the lineup at the keystone as lefty Brandon Williamson takes the hill for the Reds. The Rays had previously been running more of a timeshare at second base through the first few weeks of the season, but Williamson since appears to have moved into the short side of a platoon at the position with the left-handed-hitting Richie Palacios.
-
Ke'Bryan Hayes CIN 3B
Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Resting Wednesday
2h agoHayes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
Hayes will hit the bench after going 2-for-12 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run while starting in the Reds' last four games. Eugenio Suarez will replace Hayes at third base in the series finale.
-
Graham Pauley MIA 3B
Marlins' Graham Pauley: Sitting against righty
2h agoPauley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
The left-handed-hitting Pauley often sits versus southpaws, but he'll be heading to the bench Wednesday while right-hander Kyle Leahy starts for the Cardinals. Though Javier Sanoja will fill in at third base in the series finale, Pauley could face a greater threat from Connor Norby for reps at the hot corner once Christopher Morel (oblique) returns from the injured list. Morel had been in line to serve as the Marlins' primary first baseman before straining his oblique prior to Opening Day, but Norby has been handling those duties through the first four weeks of the season and has produced a .738 OPS. Pauley, meanwhile, has struggled to a .492 OPS and has struck out at a 27.3 percent clip over 55 plate appearances.
-
Jose Ramirez CLE 3B
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Stays busy on basepaths
4h agoRamirez went 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Astros.
The star third baseman got intentionally walked and promptly swiped second base as part of Cleveland's six-run eruption in the eighth inning that flipped the script on a 4-2 deficit. Ramirez leads the majors in steals, going a perfect 11-for-11 on the basepaths through 25 games to stay just ahead of the Pirates' Oneil Cruz and the Nationals' Nasim Nunez, who have 10 each.
-
Ildemaro Vargas ARI 3B
Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Lashes homer in loss
5h agoVargas started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 11-5 loss to the White Sox.
Vargas connected on a sinker that didn't sink for a three-run home run in the ninth inning. It was his third homer of the season and extended a season-opening hit streak to 16 games. Batting .361 with a 1.004 OPS, Vargas is punching well above his weight; the utility infielder owns a career average of .254 and OPS of .664.
-
Masyn Winn STL SS
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Receiving breather for day game
3h agoWinn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
With Winn having recently recovered from left shin bruise that kept him out of the lineup for two contests, he'll get a breather Wednesday as the Cardinals wrap up their series in Miami with a day game after a night game. Thomas Saggese will fill in for Winn at shortstop and will bat seventh.
-
David Hamilton MIL SS
Brewers' David Hamilton: Career-high four hits in Detroit
3h agoHamilton went 4-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 12-4 rout of the Tigers.
The 28-year-old infielder kept the line moving, racking up a career-high four hits from the eighth spot in the order. It was Hamilton's first multi-hit performance of 2026, and through 63 plate appearances he's slashing .240/.377/.240 with five steals, three RBI and 11 runs while seeing action at third base (11 games) and shortstop (eight) and second base (two).
-
Colson Montgomery CHW SS
White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Continues power surge
10h agoMontgomery went 2-for-5 with home run, a double, three total RBI and two total runs against Arizona in an 11-5 win Tuesday.
Montgomery put the first Chicago runs on the board with a two-run double in the first inning. One frame later, he belted a 440-foot solo blast for the third of back-to-back-to-back White Sox homers. Montgomery has homered in three consecutive games after going deep three times across his first 20 contests of the season. He's still striking out a ton (32.3 percent K rate) and is batting just .213, but his power is helping him maintain relevancy in most fantasy formats.
-
Sam Antonacci CHW SS
White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Collects inside-the-park homer
10h agoAntonacci went 2-for-5 with a home run, a triple and three total RBI in an 11-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Antonacci's first major-league homer was certainly out of the ordinary, as he laced a ball down the third-base line that appeared to touch the ball person, causing Arizona's left fielder to come to a halt. The ball remained in play, and Antonacci circled the bases, crossing home plate easily. This was easily the most productive game of his young career, as Antonacci came into Tuesday slashing .125/.300/.125 with no extra-base hits or RBI over his first five big-league contests.
-
Francisco Lindor NYM SS
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Launches three-run homer in loss
12h agoLindor went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Twins.
Lindor provided all of the Mets' offense in one swing, crushing a 410-foot three-run homer off Simeon Woods Richardson in the third inning for his second long ball of the season. The shortstop entered Tuesday with just one RBI on the year, making the swing a notable boost to his production so far. Lindor has begun to show more pop at the plate recently, slugging .609 over his last six games after posting just a .250 slugging percentage through his first 17 contests. Despite the recent power uptick, his overall numbers remain modest, as he's now batting .209 with two doubles, four RBI and two stolen bases on the season.
-
Josh H. Smith TEX SS
Rangers' Josh Smith: Dropped in order
13h agoSmith batted ninth and went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Pirates.
Smith has always hit out of the lower half of the order, but Tuesday marked his first time at the very bottom of the order. He's earned that low spot. Smith entered the contest slashing .185/.284/.200 with one extra-base hit and five RBI over 74 plate appearances.
-
Isaac Collins KC LF
Royals' Isaac Collins: Idle Wednesday
1h agoCollins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Collins recently overcame a right knee contusion to start in each of the Royals' last four contests, so he's likely just getting some maintenance Wednesday as Kansas City closes out its series with Baltimore with a day game. Lane Thomas will spell Collins in left field and will bat eighth.
-
Richard Palacios TB LF
Rays' Richie Palacios: Idle against lefty
2h agoPalacios is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Palacios had started in each of the last five games and went 3-for-13 with a double, two walks and two runs over that stretch, but he'll hit the bench Wednesday while the Reds send southpaw Brandon Williamson to the bump. Palacios appears to have settled into the strong side of a platoon at second base with Ben Williamson, who will occupy the keystone in the series finale.
-
Cedric Mullins TB CF
Rays' Cedric Mullins: Idle against lefty
2h agoMullins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Mullins had started in each of the Rays' last seven games, but the left-handed-hitting outfielder will take a seat for the series finale while the Reds send southpaw Brandon Williamson to the mound. Over 20 plate appearances against lefties this season, Mullins has slashed .176/.263/.176.
-
Kyle Isbel KC CF
Royals' Kyle Isbel: Trio of hits Tuesday
2h agoIsbel went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's victory over Baltimore.
Isbel was productive out of the nine hole, recording three hits, highlighted by a pair of doubles to lead off the fifth and seventh innings. After opening the season with an eight-game hitting streak and an OPS north of 1.000, the outfielder entered Tuesday's contest just 1-for-27 over his previous 11 appearances. He will look to build on this performance and get back on track at the plate to pair with well-regarded defense.
-
Jake Fraley TB RF
Rays' Jake Fraley: Not starting Wednesday
2h agoFraley (shin) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Fraley was lifted early in Tuesday's 12-6 loss after bruising his right shin when he fouled a pitch off himself. According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, manager Kevin Cash said that Fraley is still feeling sore a day later, but the left-handed-hitting outfielder wasn't in line to start Wednesday anyway while Cincinnati sends southpaw Brandon Williamson to the bump. Cash is hopeful that Fraley will be ready to rejoin the lineup for Friday's series opener versus the Twins following a team off day Thursday.
-
Rece Hinds CIN CF
Reds' Rece Hinds: Giving way to Benson on Wednesday
2h agoHinds is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
Though he appears to have overtaken Will Benson as the Reds' primary right fielder, Hinds will hit the bench Wednesday after four straight starts. Since being called up from Triple-A Louisville on April 14, Hinds has slashed .125/.185/.208 with five RBI and two runs in seven games.
-
Spencer Strider ATL SP
-
Quinn Priester MIL SP
-
Connor Prielipp MIN SP
Twins' Connor Prielipp: Recalled ahead of MLB debut
1h agoThe Twins recalled Prielipp from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Prielipp will make his major-league debut Wednesday with a start on the road against the Mets. He earned the promotion after collecting a 2.30 ERA and 22:8 K:BB over 15.2 innings in his first three starts with St. Paul. Prielipp has a high pitch count this season of 77, so he's unlikely to pitch deep into Wednesday's contest. However, the left-hander will have a chance to stick around in the rotation as a fill-in for Mick Abel (elbow).
-
Ryan Weathers NYY SP
Yankees' Ryan Weathers: Heads to paternity list
2h agoThe Yankees placed Weathers on the paternity list Wednesday.
Weathers will be away from the Yankees for the next 1-to-3 days while he welcomes a new addition to his family. After tossing 7.1 scoreless innings in a win over the Royals his last time out Sunday, Weathers wasn't scheduled to make his next turn until Saturday in Houston. As such, the Yankees shouldn't have to adjust their rotation to accommodate for Weathers' move to the paternity list.
-
Chris Paddack MIA SP
Marlins' Chris Paddack: Fans seven in Tuesday's loss
3h agoPaddack (0-4) took the loss Tuesday as the Marlins fell 5-3 to the Cardinals, surrendering five runs on eight hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out seven.
The seven Ks were a season high, but it was otherwise another shaky performance from Paddack, who failed to last five innings for the fourth time in five outings. The veteran right-hander has served up five homers in 24 innings, leaving him with a 6.38 ERA and 1.54 WHIP despite a seemingly strong 25:6 K:BB, and Paddack may be running out of time to turn things around before he gets bumped from the rotation by younger arms like Robby Snelling. Paddack's unlikely to collect his first win of 2026 in his next start, which is set to come on the road early next week against the Dodgers.
-
Martin Perez ATL SP
Braves' Martin Perez: Drawing another start Thursday
3h agoPerez is slated to start Thursday's game against the Nationals in Washington, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
After being re-signed last week, Perez slotted back into the Atlanta rotation for his third start of the season and delivered a gem in last Friday's 9-0 win over the Phillies, tossing six scoreless frames. The veteran lefty is now holding down a 2.21 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 20.1 innings on the season, but he could soon be moved out of the rotation with Spencer Strider (oblique) trending toward a potential return from the injured list next weekend. How Perez fares Thursday could decide whether he receives another start before Strider returns or shifts into a long-relief role.
-
Ryan Borucki SF RP
Giants' Ryan Borucki: Picks up hold Tuesday
25m agoBorucki earned a hold over a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers, allowing one hit while striking out one.
Borucki entered in the sixth inning and surrendered a double to the second batter he faced but escaped the frame on just 10 pitches, eight of which were strikes. The left-hander has turned in three straight scoreless outings following a three-game stretch in which he allowed four runs over three innings. Jacob Bird NYY RP
Yankees' Jake Bird: Summoned to big leagues
2h agoThe Yankees recalled Bird from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.
He's grabbing the roster spot vacated by Ryan Weathers, who was placed on the paternity leave list. Bird has given up six runs over seven innings at the big-league level this season, though that's come with a 9:1 K:BB. He will likely be sent back down later this week when Weathers returns.

Riley O'Brien STL RP
Cardinals' Riley O'Brien: Notches seventh save
3h agoO'Brien gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his seventh save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Marlins.
The right-hander topped 100 mph three times in 17 pitches (11 strikes) as he converted his seventh save in eight chances to begin the season. O'Brien also has three wins and two holds in his 13 appearances, but he's seized control of the closer job for the Cardinals with a dominant start to 2026, posting a 0.00 ERA, 0.45 WHIP and 15:0 K:BB over 13.1 innings.

Ian Hamilton ATL RP
Braves' Ian Hamilton: DFA'd by Atlanta
3h agoAtlanta designated Hamilton for assignment Wednesday.
Hamilton was knocked around for three runs in an inning of work Tuesday versus the Nationals in his lone appearance with the big club. The 30-year-old has often been an effective middle reliever in the past, so it's possible there's interest in him via waivers.

Trevor Megill MIL RP
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Picks up second hold Tuesday
3h agoMegill struck out one in a perfect sixth inning Tuesday to record his second hold of the season in a 12-4 win over the Tigers.
The Brewers were ahead 3-1 when the right-hander took the mound, but it was still far from the ninth-inning usage Megill is used to seeing. His performance was encouraging, as he fired 10 of 14 pitches for strikes, but his 9.00 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB through eight innings on the season remain sketchy. For now, Abner Uribe appears to be the top closing option for manager Pat Murphy, at least until Megill puts together a sustained run of success.

He's hit safely in 10 of the subsequent 15 games, going 12-for-37 (.324) to raise his season average to .235. Despite the hitting surge, it hasn't improved Pederson's run production. He has just two extra-base hits and three RBI over 21 games.
