Mets' Carson Benge: Swats second homer
Benge went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Twins.
The rookie outfielder took Joe Ryan deep in the fourth inning, giving Benge his second homer of the year. It was the first time in his brief career that the 23-year-old had recorded multiple extra-base hits in a game, and it was his first multi-hit performance in April. Benge may be getting comfortable in the majors -- while he's still batting just .200 (4-for-20) over the last seven games, three of his four hits in that span have gone for extra bases, and his 20.0 percent strikeout rate is a significant improvement on the 28.9 percent mark he posted in his first 12 contests of the season.

Mets' Brett Baty: Swats first homer of season
Baty went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run in Thursday's 10-8 victory against the Twins.
After the Mets fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning, Baty put his team ahead in the bottom of the frame with a three-run blast off Joe Ryan. That was his first long ball of the campaign after failing to go deep in each of his first 21 contests. Baty has been able to maintain a consistent spot in the lineup despite compiling a meager .225/.250/.338 slash line and 3:23 BB:K so far, and he'll look to use his big performance Thursday as a springboard to improved results at the plate.

Mets' Bo Bichette: Comes through with big hit Thursday
Bichette went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs, three RBI and a stolen base in a 10-8 victory versus Minnesota on Thursday.
All three of Bichette's RBI came in the eighth inning, when he laced a double to left field to clear the bases and snap a 7-7 tie. The infielder had two other hits in the game to finish with his first multi-hit effort since April 11. It's been a shaky start to Bichette's tenure in New York, but he was able to lift his season slash line to .238/.270/.314 with Thursday's big performance. He's produced one homer, five doubles, 12 RBI and 10 runs through 25 games.

Mets' Devin Williams: Shaky again, but picks up win
Williams (1-1) earned the win over the Twins on Thursday, allowing one run on three hits while striking out two batters over two-thirds of an inning.
The Mets led by three runs entering the ninth inning, and manager Carlos Mendoza intended to immediately deploy Williams for the start of the frame, per Max Goodman of NJ.com. However, miscommunication in the dugout led to fellow reliever Huascar Brazoban -- who finished off the eighth inning -- walking onto the field and crossing the foul line, which meant he had to stay in the game. Brazoban got one out and then exited in favor of Williams, but that meant the latter was no longer in line for a save. Williams didn't have a good outing in any case, yielding three hits and a run, but he was able to hold the lead and was generously granted the win by the official scorer. While that's a small victory for Williams' fantasy managers, it doesn't quell the concern about the veteran reliever's performance of late. After opening the campaign with five straight scoreless outings, Williams has surrendered eight runs over two innings across his past four appearances.

Mets' Christian Scott: Can't find plate in season debut
Scott allowed one run on no hits and five walks while striking out one batter over 1.1 innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Thursday.
Scott was promoted from Triple-A Syracuse earlier in the day and made his first big-league appearance since 2024. Though he was charged with just one run, the outing was a mess for the right-hander, as he threw only 18 of 43 pitches for strikes, walked five batters, hit another batter and was called for a balk. The run Scott gave up came as a result of four first-inning free passes, and he nearly walked another batter, falling behind 3-0 in the count before eventually getting Luke Keaschall to fly out. Despite the rough outing, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said after Thursday's contest that the team plans to give Scott another turn in the rotation, per Max Goodman of NJ.com.

Mets' Austin Warren: Back in minors
The Mets optioned Warren to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Since being recalled from Triple-A on April 14, Warren has made two appearances out of the bullpen and given up one earned run on two hits and no walks while striking out four batters in 1.2 innings. The 30-year-old will now return to Syracuse to work as organizational bullpen depth, clearing space on the active roster for Christian Scott, who will start Thursday's game against Minnesota.

Mets' Christian Scott: Promoted ahead of start
The Mets recalled Scott from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his start against the Twins on Thursday.
Scott owns a 5.27 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through 13.2 innings at Triple-A, but he's given up just two earned runs in 10.1 frames across his last two starts. He'll now return to the Mets' rotation for the first time since 2024 -- he spent all of 2025 recovering from Tommy John surgery -- and face a Twins offense that is batting just .227 through its first 24 games. Austin Warren was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Recalled, starting at shortstop
The Mets recalled Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Mauricio is taking the roster spot vacated by the injured Francisco Lindor (calf) and is starting at shortstop and batting eighth in Thursday's game versus the Twins. Per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, manager Carlos Mendoza said Mauricio will see the majority of the playing time at the position while Lindor is shelved. The switch-hitting Mauricio had a three-homer game with Syracuse earlier this week and has gone deep a total of five times over his last five contests at the Mets' top minor-league affiliate.

Mets' Francisco Lindor: Placed on IL with calf strain
The Mets placed Lindor on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left calf strain.
It's another tough break for the Mets, as they'll now lose Lindor to a strained calf after just getting Juan Soto back from his own calf strain. Per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, manager Carlos Mendoza said that Lindor's strain is worse than Soto's was, so Lindor's absence is likely to last longer than the two-and-a-half weeks Soto was out. Ronny Mauricio is up from Triple-A Syracuse and will fill in as the Mets' primary shortstop until Lindor returns.

Mets' Francisco Lindor: Expected to land on injured list
The Mets are expected to place Lindor (calf) on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Lindor was forced to leave Wednesday's game versus the Twins after tweaking his left calf while running the bases. The results of an MRI on Lindor's calf have yet to be revealed, but the feeling is that the injury is bad enough to force an IL move. Ronny Mauricio is in line to take Lindor's roster spot and could get some starts at shortstop in Lindor's stead. The club could also shift Bo Bichette to his natural shortstop position and use Brett Baty at third base.

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Coming back to majors
The Mets will recall Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse prior to Thursday's game against the Twins, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
It could mean Francisco Lindor (calf) is headed to the injured list, but the club has yet to confirm that. If Lindor is indeed sidelined for a bit and the Mets prefer to keep Bo Bichette at third base, Mauricio could get regular reps at shortstop. He would also be a candidate to play third base if Bichette handles shortstop, though Brett Baty could be first in line there. Mauricio had a three-homer game with Syracuse earlier this week and has gone deep a total of five times over his last five games.

Mets' Luke Weaver: Earns win in relief
Weaver (2-0) earned the win in relief Wednesday against the Twins, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out three across 1.1 innings.
Weaver entered the game in the seventh inning with two outs and runners on first and second. He walked Ryan Jeffers to load the bases, but he closed out the inning when Luke Keaschall was retired on a popout in foul territory. Holding a one-run lead in the top of the ninth, Weaver recorded consecutive strikeouts of Matt Wallner and Royce Lewis. Weaver then allowed a single to Brooks Lee, but he would close the game out by striking out Byron Buxton, who had homered earlier in the game. This was Weaver's third straight scoreless appearance, and he seems to be leaving behind a woeful stretch when he allowed six runs on 1.2 innings across two outings between April 9 and April 11.

Mets' Clay Holmes: Goes seven frames in no-decision
Holmes didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Twins after allowing two runs on five hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out three.
Holmes didn't look dominant by any means, as he tossed just 56 of his 88 pitches for strikes and only struck out three, but he got the job done en route to posting his second quality start of the campaign. Holmes has done a good job of limiting the damage every time he's on the mound, as he's allowed two or fewer earned runs while pitching at least five frames in each of his five starts in 2026. That translates to a strong 2.10 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP, although his 5.7 K/9 is below average. Holmes is in line to make his next start at home against the Nationals next week.

Mets' Francisco Lindor: Exits early Wednesday
Lindor was removed from Wednesday's game against the Twins with left calf tightness.
Lindor went 2-for-2 before coming out of Wednesday's game, but he appeared to tweak his calf while rounding third base and coming in to score on Francisco Alvarez's fourth-inning double. Lindor is slated to get an MRI on his calf Thursday, per Laura Albanese of Newsday, at which point more information regarding the severity of his injury and a return timeline should be revealed.
