  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Managing sore foot

Mitchell isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Seattle due to foot soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Mitchell went 4-for-6 and scored two runs during Milwaukee's 22-0 rout of the Mariners on Tuesday but evidently picked up a foot injury in the process, so the Brewers will give him a day off as a precaution. Luis Lara will patrol center field as a result, moving Jake Bauers into right field and opening first base for Andrew Vaughn.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Out of lineup against righty

Mitchell is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Mariners. Logan Gilbert is on the bump for the Mariners, marking the first time since July 7 that the left-handed-hitting Mitchell isn't starting versus a righty hurler. Luis Lara will handle center field and Jake Bauers will be in right field for Milwaukee.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Sitting against lefty again

Mitchell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. The left-handed-hitting Mitchell will be held out of the starting nine for the second straight day while the Brewers oppose another southpaw (Tarik Skubal). Luis Lara will replace Mitchell in center field and will bat second.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Sitting amid slump

Mitchell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins. Mitchell started the previous 12 contests and will receive a day off amid a 5-for-53 slump, which has dropped his OPS 70 points to .763. Brandon Lockridge is instead starting in center field Sunday for the Brewers.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Goes yard in win

Mitchell went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 7-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks. Mitchell opened the scoring with a second-inning blast. He's homered in consecutive contests and has gone 8-for-15 with five extra-base hits and five RBI over his last four games. The outfielder is batting .265 with an .824 OPS, eight homers, 42 RBI, 37 runs scored and six stolen bases over 76 contests this season. He continues to see a strong-side platoon role in center field, though he has made seven starts versus left-handed pitchers since the beginning of June.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Idle for second straight game

Mitchell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs. The Brewers will hold Mitchell out of the starting nine for a second straight day while the Cubs have a southpaw (Ryan Rolison) open the game and another left-hander (Jordan Wicks) on hand to pitch in bulk relief. Jackson Chourio will draw the start in center field in place of the resting Mitchell.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Riding pine Wednesday

Mitchell isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics. Mitchell will get a chance to rest his legs Wednesday after going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs during Tuesday's loss. • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Two doubles in three-hit game

Mitchell went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Athletics. Mitchell didn't get in on the fun in Monday's slugfest, going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts. He bounced back with his third multi-hit effort of the month Tuesday. The outfielder is hitting .346 (9-for-26) over seven games in June, lifting his average to .247 for the season. Mitchell has added a .758 OPS, three home runs, six stolen bases, 31 RBI, 26 runs scored, 12 doubles and two triples through 56 contests. He continues to hold down the strong side of a platoon in center field, though he had started against southpaws in the two games prior to Tuesday's matchup against righty J.T. Ginn.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Collects three XBH

Mitchell went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored Sunday as Milwaukee beat Colorado, 12-4. After recording back-to-back doubles in his previous plate appearances, Mitchell capped off his day with a two-run triple in the ninth inning to put the finishing touches on an already comfortable Milwaukee victory. The three-hit performance marked a season high for the outfielder, who continues to provide value beyond his modest .244 batting average. Mitchell's .359 OBP has helped him consistently find scoring opportunities in a deep Brewers lineup, making him a useful fantasy asset. He now owns three homers, 12 doubles, 31 RBI and six stolen bases across 196 plate appearances.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Not in Friday's lineup

Mitchell (back) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers. Mitchell exited the Brewers' last game Wednesday versus the Cubs due to back tightness. With southpaw Justin Wrobleski toeing the rubber for the Dodgers, the left-handed-hitting Mitchell probably wasn't going to start Friday regardless, but it's unclear whether he'll be available off the bench. Jake Bauers, Jackson Chourio and Sal Frelick will form Milwaukee's outfield trio in Friday's series opener.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Back in action Saturday

Mitchell (illness) is starting in center field and batting seventh against the Yankees on Saturday. Mitchell was scratched due to an illness Wednesday and didn't start Friday, though he did enter the latter contest in the fourth inning after Brandon Lockridge exited with a knee injury. That was a good sign that Mitchell had shown improvement, and the veteran outfielder is now feeling well enough to return to the starting lineup. He'll look to snap an 0-for-10 stretch over his last four games.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Posts two steals in win

Mitchell went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, one run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox. Mitchell made an impact from the outset, tallying a two-run single in the first inning and recording his first multi-steal game since last April. The 27-year-old has started each of the Brewers' first two games, reaching base multiple times in both. While durability has long been a concern, he's off to a strong start in 2026 as the team's primary center fielder.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Full-go after shoulder surgery

Mitchell (shoulder) said Wednesday that he received full clearance for baseball activities in early February, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Mitchell was limited to only 25 games in 2025 before requiring a second surgery on his left shoulder, but he will not have any restrictions this spring. The 27-year-old has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, having never played more than 69 contests in any big-league season. Mitchell will compete for the starting job in center field this spring.
