Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Idle Sunday
Cronenworth is out of the lineup for Sunday's matchup against the Royals.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Tallies four hits in win
Hoerner went 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Twins.
Hoerner set a new season high in hits as he helped power the Cubs to their first win of the second half. The speedy infielder came into the All-Star break mired in a 1-for-18 slump over his previous five games, but he's started the series against Minnesota by going 6-for-8 over two contests. Hoerner is still batting just .243 for the season, though his career .277 mark suggests there is room for improvement during the stretch run.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Scratched Saturday
Turang was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against Miami due to right foot soreness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Turang fouled a ball off his foot during Friday's victory, and although he managed to finish the game, the Brewers will hold him out of action Saturday as a precaution. Braden Shewmake will fill in as Milwaukee's second baseman and bat eighth.

Sung-Mun Song 2B | SD
Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Sitting again Saturday
Song isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Kansas City.
Song went 2-for-18 across his final six games before the All-Star break, and he'll now miss out on the starting nine for a second consecutive game to begin the second half. Manny Machado will get another start at third base as a result, while Miguel Andujar works as the DH.

Nasim Nunez 2B | WAS
Nationals' Nasim Nunez: Swipes 35th bag in Friday's rout
Nunez went 3-for-6 with three runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's win over the A's.
The Nationals scored three or more runs in five different innings on their way to a 23-4 rout, and Nunez was one of six Washington players with multiple hits and one of seven to cross the plate multiple times. His sixth-inning steal was his 35th of the season, putting him five clear of Bobby Witt for the major-league lead. Nunez was getting by on his defense and speed early in the season, but since the beginning of June he's produced a stunning .343/.407/.431 slash line over 114 plate appearances.

Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Taking seat Friday
Song isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Royals.
Song will retreat to the bench to begin the first game of San Diego's second-half schedule after going 2-for-18 with three walks, four RBI and three runs in his final six games before the All-Star break. Manny Machado will cover the hot corner with Song on the bench, opening up the DH spot for Miguel Andujar.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Mets' Marcus Semien: Activated Thursday
The Mets reinstated Semien (hip) from the injured list Thursday.
Semien has been shelved by a Grade 3 hip flexor strain since June 25, but after going 2-for-3 with a three-run homer during a rehab game Sunday, he's been cleared to return to the active roster before Thursday's second-half opener against Philadelphia -- well ahead of his initial 4-to-6-week timeline. The 35-year-old figures to reclaim his role as New York's primary second baseman now that he's healthy, though the Mets will keep him on the bench Thursday while Brett Baty starts at the keystone. Zack Short was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Mets' Marcus Semien: Kicks off rehab assignment
Semien (hip) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Sunday, logging five innings at second base while going 2-for-3 with a three-run home run.
After landing on the shelf June 25 due to a Grade 3 left hip flexor strain, Semien initially appeared unlikely to make it back from the injured list before the beginning of August, but he's made more rapid progress in his recovery than anticipated. Semien will put his rehab assignment on hold during the All-Star break, but he's expected to report back to Binghamton or Triple-A Syracuse over the weekend to continue stockpiling at-bats in games. If all goes well in his initial rehab games following the break, Semien could get the green light to rejoin the Mets at some point during the final two weeks of July.
