Saggese will start in left field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Nationals.

It's the sixth straight start overall and second consecutive start in left field against a righty for the right-handed-batting Saggese. Saggese -- who turns 24 on Friday -- has yet to do much at the plate this season but reached base three times in Monday's series opener.

Turner went 1-for-5 with an RBI in Monday's 6-4 win against the Giants.

Turner has been batting leadoff every game this season for the Phillies and starting at shortstop. The two-time All-Star won the National League batting title last season but is off to a slower start in 2026 with a .279 average and only three RBI. As his power diminished last year, Turner was still a menace on the bases while ranking at the top of the sprint speed leaderboard, even while missing most of September with a hamstring injury.

The Diamondbacks transferred Lawlar (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old was given a 6-to-8-week recovery timeline after fracturing his right wrist last week, but the move to the 60-day IL guarantees he will be on the shelf until at least early June. Prior to suffering the injury, Lawlar was off to a hot start this season, going 6-for-18 with a double, a home run and a steal across 20 plate appearances.

Adames went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and a run scored in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Phillies.

After going 1-for-18 with three walks and an RBI over his previous five games, Adames bounced back Monday. The veteran shortstop hit a leadoff double in the third inning before coming around to score. He added another double in the ninth, marking his second multi-hit effort of the season. Over 11 games, Adames is slashing .214/.283/.381 with three RBI, three runs scored and one home run across 46 plate appearances.

Fernandez is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.

Fernandez has now started four of eight contests since being promoted, but only one of the last four tilts versus right-handed pitching. The 22-year-old homered twice in his major-league debut but is 1-for-12 with a 0:3 BB:K since then. Ildemaro Vargas will handle first base and Adrian Del Castillo will be the designated hitter Tuesday.

Abrams went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's win over the Cardinals.

The shortstop launched the third of three eighth-inning homers by the Nationals as part of a six-run eruption that erased a 6-3 deficit. Abrams has gone yard four times in the last five games and hit safely in seven straight, batting .321 (9-for-28) over the latter stretch with a .750 SLG, eight runs, 11 RBI and two steals.

Shaw went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Rays.

The Cubs only tallied four hits as a team but Shaw made his count, as he went deep for the second straight game. The 24-year-old might be getting into an offensive groove, though his playing time figures to trend downward to a degree once Seiya Suzuki (knee) is able to return. Suzuki is expected back Friday, giving Shaw the rest of the week as Chicago's top option in right field. He should still cover right on occasion once Suzuki is back, particularly in the early going as the Cubs may want to ease Suzuki back into action.

Tovar is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.

Tovar will receive his first night off of the season after slashing .270/.289/.405 with one home run, one stolen base, five RBI and three runs through the Rockies' first nine games. Willi Castro will get the nod at shortstop Monday in Tovar's stead.

Winn (hip) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth against the Nationals on Monday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Winn was initially slated to miss a third consecutive game, but he has made enough progress in his recovery from a left hip injury to be back in action for Monday's contest. With Winn back in the Cardinals' lineup, Thomas Saggese will shift from shortstop to left field while Jose Fermin moves to the bench.

Schmitt (back) is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Phillies on Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Schmitt's absence will extend to four games due to a lingering back injury. Rafael Devers will start at first base for Monday's series opener while Jerar Encarnacion serves as the Giants' designated hitter.
