Giants' Trevor McDonald: Will get another start
McDonald will start Wednesday's game at home versus the Diamondbacks, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
With Logan Webb (knee) slated to rejoin the rotation this weekend, it could be McDonald's final start with the big club before he's sent back to Triple-A Sacramento. McDonald has offered more good than bad with the Giants but was roughed up his last time out, yielding seven runs over 3.2 frames.

Giants' Logan Webb: On track to return this weekend
Giants manager Tony Vitello said Monday that there's a good chance Webb (knee) will rejoin the rotation this weekend at Coors Field, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Vitello had indicated previously that Webb would likely draw a start during the early-week series versus the Diamondbacks, but it appears he will return this weekend instead. The veteran right-hander made one rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento, allowing one unearned run while throwing 62 pitches over 3.1 innings. Webb has been sidelined since early May due to right knee bursitis.

Giants' Erik Miller: Earns hold Sunday
Miller picked up a hold in Sunday's 8-5 win over the White Sox, striking out one in a scoreless inning.
Miller entered in the eighth inning and threw seven of his 11 pitches for strikes, earning his sixth hold on the campaign. The left-hander has recorded three straight scoreless outings since surrendering two runs in his return from a back strain May 16. He now owns a 3.77 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 21:12 K:BB across 14.1 innings in 16 games this season.

Giants' Caleb Kilian: Strikes out side to secure save
Kilian earned his third save of the season in Sunday's 8-5 win over the White Sox, striking out the side in a scoreless ninth inning.
Kilian made easy work of the the top of the order for the White Sox, as the right-hander got every batter he faced to strike out swinging. It was the first time this season that he logged three strikeouts in a game, and he has collected all three of his saves over his last six outings. Kilian looks to be the Giants' preferred closer, with Erik Miller and Matt Gage also in the mix for opportunities.

Giants' Casey Schmitt: Drives in three runs Sunday
Schmitt went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a two-run home run and two additional runs scored during the Giants' 8-5 win over the White Sox on Sunday.
Schmitt put the Giants on the board with an RBI double in the first inning and extended his team's lead to 4-1 with a two-run homer in the third. He's been hot at the plate over his last eight games, going 13-for-34 (.382) with five home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored in that span. Schmitt is up to 11 home runs on the season, one shy from tying his 2025 mark.

Giants' Robbie Ray: Command issues in no-decision
Ray did not factor into Sunday's decision against the White Sox, allowing four runs on two hits and seven walks while striking out three across four innings.
Ray put the Giants behind early after giving up a leadoff home run to Chase Meidroth in the first inning. Ray struggled with his command, logging only 47 strikes on 92 pitches while issuing a career-worst seven walks, and he allowed at least two baserunners in four of the five innings he pitched. Ray has given up 14 runs (13 earned) over his last two starts, ballooning his numbers to a 4.60 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 58.2 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is slated for next weekend on the road against the Rockies.

Giants' Rafael Devers: Smacks grand slam in Sunday's win
Devers went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and an RBI double during the Giants' 8-5 win over the White Sox on Sunday.
Devers opened things up with an RBI double in the first inning, but his biggest contribution came in the fifth, when he smacked a grand slam off Grant Taylor to give the Giants an 8-4 lead. Devers struggled to a .537 OPS through the first 31 games of the regular season but has been much better at the place since May 1, posting a .935 OPS with five home runs, nine doubles and 14 RBI in 90 plate appearances this month.

Giants' Logan Webb: On cusp of IL return
Manager Tony Vitello said Sunday that Webb (knee) is "a good option" to return from the 15-day injured list to make a start during the Giants' upcoming three-game series versus the Diamondbacks in San Francisco, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Vitello was careful to note that the Giants haven't decided on Webb's next steps, but the right-hander said that he feels physically ready to rejoin the San Francisco rotation after making a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday. He covered 3.1 innings and tossed 62 pitches in the start, striking out two batters while allowing one unearned run on two hits and three walks. The Giants will likely reassess Webb during a bullpen session Monday before deciding whether he'll be ready to start Wednesday against Arizona.

Giants' Drew Gilbert: Not starting against lefty
Gilbert is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
The left-handed-hitting Gilbert will hit the bench with southpaw Noah Schultz on the hill for Chicago, paving the way for Victor Bericoto to pick up a start in right field. Gilbert had started in each of the Giants' last four games against right-handed pitching and should be able to hold down a strong-side platoon role in the outfield until either Jung Hoo Lee (back) or Heliot Ramos (quadriceps) returns from the injured list.

Giants' Bryce Eldridge: On bench against southpaw
Eldridge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Though he'll be head to the bench while lefty Noah Schultz takes the hill for Chicago, the left-handed-hitting Eldridge appears to be gaining traction in the San Francisco lineup against righties. Eldridge has started in each of the Giants' last three matchups versus right-handed starters or primary pitchers, going 3-for-11 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.

Giants' Harrison Bader: Belts grand slam to power rout
Bader went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 10-3 win over the White Sox.
The center fielder broke the game open when he took Jordan Leasure deep in the fifth inning. It was Bader's fifth homer of the season and fourth in 10 games since being activated from the IL in mid-May after recovering from a hamstring strain. Over that stretch, he's batting .263 (10-for-38) with three doubles, six runs and 10 RBI.

Giants' Adrian Houser: Can't take advantage of run support
Houser didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 10-3 win over the White Sox, giving up three runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
The veteran right-hander got handed a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning, but Houser immediately gave it right back in the top of the fifth and got the hook after 79 pitches (55 strikes), taking him out of the equation for the win when the Giants broke the game open in the bottom of the frame. Houser has allowed three runs or fewer in five straight starts, posting a 3.33 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 17:11 K:BB over 27 innings during that stretch. He'll look to keep that momentum going in his next outing, which is set to come on the road next weekend in Colorado.

Giants' Matt Chapman: Doubles in defeat
Chapman went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Friday's 9-4 loss to the White Sox.
Chapman lined a double to right field in the sixth inning before coming around to score San Francisco's final run. The veteran third baseman has recorded at least one hit in five of his last six games, batting .304 with five runs scored and two RBI in 26 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .228/.305/.317 with 21 runs scored, 16 RBI and one home run in 210 plate appearances this season.

Giants' Luis Arraez: Multi-hit effort in defeat
Arraez went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Friday's 9-4 loss to the White Sox.
Arraez hit an RBI single in the fifth inning and added another base hit in the seventh. The 29-year-old has tallied at least one hit in six of his last seven games, batting .429 with five runs scored, four RBI and two homers in 32 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .321/.359/.421 with 21 runs scored, 18 RBI, four stolen bases and two long balls across 209 plate appearances this season.

Giants' Trevor McDonald: Roughed up by White Sox
McDonald (2-1) allowed seven runs on three hits, one walk and two hit batsmen while striking out four over 3.2 innings to take the loss versus the White Sox on Friday.
McDonald was perfect the first time through the order but completely unraveled in the fourth inning. He was pulled after giving up five runs, but Ryan Borucki also struggled, allowing two inherited runners to score. This was a terrible time for McDonald to have a bad start, as it came on the same day Logan Webb (knee) was making his first, and likely only, rehab start. McDonald is now at a 4.76 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB through 22.2 innings over four starts in the majors this year. His performance Friday likely made the Giants' decision easier when they need to clear a 26-man roster spot for Webb's return next week, though an official decision from the team is likely a few days away.
