  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Back to second in order

Perdomo batted second and went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 4-3 win over the Angels. Perdomo, who had spent the previous 10 games lower in the order, was moved back to the two hole among a slew of batting order changes enacted by manager Torey Lovullo. The shortstop had gone 12-for-34 (.353) with six walks and three steals during his brief time in the lower third of the order.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Homer, stolen base in win

Perdomo went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Reds. Perdomo put the Diamondbacks ahead in the sixth inning with his 400-foot blast off Tejay Antone, his fourth of the year and first in 15 games. Perdomo got off to a slow start this season, though he's started to swing the bat better of late, going 14-for-39 (.359) with an .892 OPS in his last 12 contests. Overall, he's slashing .244/.350/.359 across 284 plate appearances this season with 24 RBI, 30 runs scored and 11 stolen bases.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Staying in lower third of order

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Thursday that the plan for now is to keep Perdomo in the lower third of the batting order, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. Perdomo hit out of the seventh spot Thursday and responded with two hits, including a two-out, game-tying single in the bottom of the eighth inning. Perdomo could move around the lineup depending on days off for teammates, but the plan is to mainly keep in the seven-hole for now. The shortstop had a breakout 2025 but is slashing .230/.333/.348 with three home runs, 22 RBI, eight steals and 27 runs through 59 games in 2026.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Could move down order after day off

Perdomo will not be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports. It will be the first day off since late April for Perdomo, who is hitless across his last three games and is now slashing only .221/.329/.344 for the season. Per Jack Sommers of SI.com, Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo noted prior to Monday's contest that he's "thinking about" moving Perdomo -- who has yet to hit lower than third this season -- down in the batting order, so that could happen when he returns to the lineup Wednesday. Jose Fernandez will grab a start at shortstop Tuesday while Perdomo resets.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Goes yard in loss

Perdomo went 3-for-6 with a solo home run, a double and three total runs scored in Friday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Mariners. Perdomo's last long ball was May 1 versus the Cubs. In the 24 contests in between homers, he hit a meager .200 with five doubles and 11 RBI. The shortstop hasn't come close to replicating his breakout year from 2025 -- he's batting .232 with a .703 OPS, three homers, 21 RBI, 26 runs scored, nine doubles, three triples and eight stolen bases over 53 contests this season. While his numbers are down across the board, Perdomo still offers enough speed to be enticing in fantasy if he can get on base enough to use that skill.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Drives in three in win

Perdomo went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Giants. Perdomo drove in the Diamondbacks' first run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning and then finished the scoring with a two-run double in the fifth. He's struggled over the last couple of weeks and entered Wednesday's game batting .170 with one RBI over the previous 13 games.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Delivers lone run in win

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's 1-0 win over the Rangers. Perdomo's first-inning double drove in the only run of the game for his 12th RBI of the season. The shortstop is last season's pace, when he had 30 RBI over the same number of games (37) on the way to 100 RBI. The multi-hit effort was a positive sign for Perdomo, who entered the night batting .138 (4-for-29) over the previous eight contests.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Swats homer in loss

Perdomo went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Cubs. Perdomo narrowed Chicago's lead in the sixth inning when he swatted a three-run homer as part of Arizona's four-run frame. It was the second of the season and first since Opening Day for Perdomo, who's been on a roll since mid-April, going 15-for-40 (.375) with five extra-base hits, two steals, five RBI and five runs over the last 11 contests.

Perdomo returned to action after missing two games due to a left ankle sprain and resumed his role as the leadoff batter against right-handers. The shortstop had a rough start to the season but has looked more like the 2025 version of himself lately -- Perdomo is 13-for-32 (.406) with five extra-base hits, two steals, six walks and four runs over the last nine contests.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Takes grounders Tuesday

Perdomo (ankle) tested out his injury Tuesday by taking grounders, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Perdomo began doing baseball activities a few days after being removed from Saturday's game due to a left ankle sprain. He's missed two games while Jose Fernandez took his place at shortstop.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Still sitting Tuesday

Perdomo (ankle) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers. • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Diagnosed with ankle sprain

Perdomo was removed from Saturday's game against the Padres due to a left ankle sprain. Perdomo tweaked his left ankle while fielding a groundball in the seventh inning, and the injury was severe enough for him to leave the contest. He finished 0-for-3 with a strikeout. The shortstop should be considered day-to-day due to the ankle sprain, with Jose Fernandez and Ildemaro Vargas in line to see more starts at shortstop if Perdomo is to miss time.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Moved to leadoff

Perdomo batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the White Sox. Perdomo hit atop the order for the first time this season, as manager Torey Lovullo plans to platoon the shortstop and Ketel Marte at leadoff, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. The two players operated as tandem leadoff batters over the second half of 2025 -- Perdomo against righties, Marte against lefties -- so the roles are nothing new to either player. The move coincides with Perdomo catching fire at the dish; he's hit safely in seven consecutive games, going 13-for-27 with four extra-base hits, two steals, two RBI and four runs scored. As part of the lineup tweak, Corbin Carroll drops from second to third in the order.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Laces pair of triples

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with two triples, a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 11-7 win over the White Sox. Perdomo has hit safely in his last six games, going 12-for-23 (.522) in that span, which includes all three of his triples this season. The surge has him up to a .260 average and .782 OPS through 23 contests after a slow start. Perdomo has added six stolen bases, six RBI, 11 runs scored, one home run and three doubles on the year. The shortstop broke out with a 20-homer, 100-RBI effort over 161 games in 2025, but he's taken a clear step back in most areas early in 2026.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Finds rhythm at dish

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 6-2 win over Toronto. It was an uneven performance from Perdomo. He extended a hit streak to four games (8-for-16) but was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double, was nearly picked off first base, and had a defensive miscue that led to the Blue Jays tying the game in the sixth inning. Aside from the negative plays, it's encouraging to see Perdomo's bat finding life after a slow start to the season. His batting average climbed to .229, its highest point since the beginning of the month.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Swipes two bags in win

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Orioles. All three knocks were singles, but the 26-year-old shortstop quickly got himself into scoring position on two of them. It was Perdomo's first multi-hit performance since Opening Day, and while he's struggling to find his 2025 form at the plate -- he carries a .190/.310/.276 slash line through 18 games with only one home run -- he is at least contributing with his legs, stealing six bags in nine attempts.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Helps in comeback win

Perdomo went 0-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Phillies. The shortstop, who is batting .157 through 16 games, is doing what he can despite the slow start. Over the last five games, during which he's gone 2-for-14, Perdomo has walked six times, stole three bases and scored four runs.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Provides offense in loss

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers. Perdomo gave the Diamondbacks the lead with his fourth-inning home run off Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but that was all the offense the team could muster. After the homer, Los Angeles pitching retired 18 of the final 19 Arizona batters. So far so good for Perdomo as he looks to prove that his breakout 2025 season (20 HR, 100 RBI) was no fluke.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Back in WBC lineup

Perdomo (illness) will start at shortstop and bat ninth for Team Dominican Republic in Monday's game against Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic. After falling ill, Perdomo was held out of the lineup for Sunday's 12-1 win over Team Netherlands, with Erik Gonzalez filling in at shortstop in his stead. The Diamondbacks infielder needed just one day off to move past the ailment and will rejoin the starting nine as the Dominican Republic looks to move to 3-0 in pool play.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Achieves milestone in loss

Perdomo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-1 loss to San Diego. Perdomo's homer was his 20th, the first time he's reached that milestone. While other regulars were given the day off after Arizona was eliminated from the postseason Friday, Perdomo insisted on playing his 160th game, per Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. There's a good chance he adds to that Sunday, as Perdomo is one RBI shy of a 20-100 year entering the final game of the regular season. It's been a remarkable year of development for Perdomo, whose 6.9 bWAR is among MLB leaders and tops position players in the NL.
