Perdomo hit atop the order for the first time this season, as manager Torey Lovullo plans to platoon the shortstop and Ketel Marte at leadoff, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. The two players operated as tandem leadoff batters over the second half of 2025 -- Perdomo against righties, Marte against lefties -- so the roles are nothing new to either player. The move coincides with Perdomo catching fire at the dish; he's hit safely in seven consecutive games, going 13-for-27 with four extra-base hits, two steals, two RBI and four runs scored. It was an uneven performance from Perdomo. He extended a hit streak to four games (8-for-16) but was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double, was nearly picked off first base, and had a defensive miscue that led to the Blue Jays tying the game in the sixth inning. Aside from the negative plays, it's encouraging to see Perdomo's bat finding life after a slow start to the season. His batting average climbed to .229, its highest point since the beginning of the month.
