Tyler Black 2B | MIL
Brewers' Tyler Black: Officially promoted
The Brewers recalled Black from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
With outfielder Blake Perkins (calf) going on the 10-day injured list, Black was summoned from Triple-A to fill the open spot on the active roster. Over his previous two stints with Milwaukee this season, Black hit .235 with two doubles, one RBI, three stolen bases and two runs scored in 12 games. He'll likely serve in a utility role while he's up with the Brewers.

Blake Perkins CF | CLE
Brewers' Blake Perkins: Goes on 10-day IL
The Brewers placed Perkins on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right calf strain.
The outfielder will be sidelined for at least a week and a half with the injury, which he likely sustained in Sunday's loss to the Reds. In the meantime, infielder Tyler Black was recalled from Triple-A Nashville to replace Perkins on the major-league roster.

Ryne Nelson SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Could be shifted to bullpen
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Nelson will be available out of the bullpen for Wednesday's game versus the Rockies, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.
Nelson will be ready in case starter Jordan Montgomery is unable to work deep into Wednesday's outing. If Nelson is not needed Wednesday, he will start Friday in Tampa Bay. If Nelson does in fact start Friday, it could be his last one for a while, as Lovullo says the club would then go back to a five-man rotation. Lovullo wouldn't commit to Nelson being the one to lose his rotation spot when that time arrives, but he looks to be the most likely candidate. Nelson holds a 2.90 ERA and 49:11 K:BB over 49.2 innings since the beginning of July, so he certainly doesn't deserve a demotion. However, he could be the team's starter most equipped to handle a shift to relief.

Tristan Beck RP | SF
Giants' Tristan Beck: Set for rehab outing Tuesday
Beck (arm) will throw three innings in his rehab appearance with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Beck continues to work his way back from surgery on March 3 to address an upper right arm aneurysm. He made his first rehab outing Thursday, when he allowed one run on four hits while striking out four across three innings. If Beck does end up returning to the majors this season, he'll likely work out of the Giants' bullpen rather than the starting rotation.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand 3B | BAL
Reds' Christian Encarnacion-Strand: Hopes to be back for playoff run
Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) hopes to be ready to return during a potential playoff run for the Reds, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Encarnacion-Strand underwent surgery a month ago to repair ligaments in his fractured right wrist and has yet to resume baseball activities. While the infielder is holding out hope that he could possibly impact a postseason run for the Reds, the likelihood is high that he will ultimately be held out until next season. Still, the fact that it's even a remote possibility indicates that Encarnacion-Strand should have a relatively normal offseason if all goes well.

Graham Ashcraft RP | CIN
Reds' Graham Ashcraft: Could begin throwing within 10 days
Reds manager David Bell said Monday that Ashcraft (elbow) could begin a throwing program within the next 10 days, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Ashcraft has been out since early July with a right elbow strain. He will need about six weeks to ramp things back up before he's ready for games, so even in a best-case scenario the right-hander is probably looking at just one or two late-season appearances.

Ian Gibaut RP | CIN
Reds' Ian Gibaut: Throwing at less than full effort
Gibaut (forearm/calf) has resumed throwing but is doing so at less than full effort, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Gibaut has been out all season with a forearm injury, but a more recent calf strain is why he's not yet throwing with full intensity. He should have a shot to make it back before the end of the season, but there's no timetable for his return.

Jordan Beck RF | COL
Rockies' Jordan Beck: Moves up from Triple-A
The Rockies recalled Beck from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Beck was with the Rockies earlier in the season and batted just .190 across 81 plate appearances before landing on the injured list in late May after fracturing his left hand while attempting a diving catch in the outfield. After beginning a rehab assignment in late July, Beck was ultimately optioned to Triple-A when the Rockies activated him from IL on Aug. 3. The young outfielder has slashed .319/.402/.558 with eight home runs and 35 RBI across 189 plate appearances for Albuquerque this season, but he may have to settle for a depth role during his upcoming stint with Colorado. The Rockies already have Charlie Blackmon, Jake Cave and Sam Hilliard on hand to fill out everyday roles in the corner outfield and at designated hitter, and though Kris Bryant was placed on the 10-day IL with a back injury, Nolan Jones (back) shouldn't be far off a return from the IL.

Brent Suter RP | ATL
Reds' Brent Suter: Throwing live BP on Friday
Suter (shoulder) will throw a live batting practice session Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Assuming that goes well, Suter will likely be cleared to begin a rehab assignment next week. It was initially looking like the left-hander would be out until September after he was diagnosed in late July with a partial tear of his left teres major muscle, but he's recovered more quickly than expected.

Josh Rogers RP | COL
Rockies' Josh Rogers: Heads to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Rogers to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Rogers' latest stint in the majors lasted just one day, as he allowed one run over 1.2 innings in a relief appearance Sunday versus Atlanta. He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Bradley Blalock, who was called up from Double-A Hartford to start Monday's game in Arizona.
