  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Placed on IL

The Giants placed Bader on the 10-day injured list Saturday with plantar fasciitis. Bader missed a few weeks earlier in the season due to a hamstring strain, and he's now due for at least another 10 days on the injured list after being diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. Drew Gilbert is likely to receive the bulk of starts in center field while Bader is on the shelf, and Will Brennan will rejoin the big club to provide outfield depth.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Riding pine Saturday

Bader isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Colorado, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Bader notched a base hit and an RBI in Friday's series opener, but he'll retreat to the bench to begin Saturday's contest. While he sits, Casey Schmitt, Drew Gilbert and Jung Hoo Lee will form San Francisco's outfield trio.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Taking seat Wednesday

Bader is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The Giants will extend Bader a breather after he started in each of the previous five games while going 4-for-18 with a grand slam, a double and a walk during that stretch. Drew Gilbert will fill in for Bader as the Giants' starting center fielder Wednesday.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Belts grand slam to power rout

Bader went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 10-3 win over the White Sox. The center fielder broke the game open when he took Jordan Leasure deep in the fifth inning. It was Bader's fifth homer of the season and fourth in 10 games since being activated from the IL in mid-May after recovering from a hamstring strain. Over that stretch, he's batting .263 (10-for-38) with three doubles, six runs and 10 RBI.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Receiving afternoon off

Bader is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Bader will pick up some rest in the series finale after he went 5-for-22 with four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles), five RBI and four runs while starting in the Giants' last five games. Drew Gilbert will cover center field in place of Bader on Wednesday.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Swats grand slam

Bader went 1-for-4 with a grand slam, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 10-1 win over the Athletics. Bader's lone hit of the day was a big one, as he went the opposite way for a grand slam off Jose Suarez to punctuate an eight-run eighth inning for the Giants. The center fielder has struggled to a .531 OPS through 20 appearances in 2026, though he has shown off some power of late with three homers and a .571 slugging percentage over his past seven games. Bader will look to continue supplying power and find a more complete groove at the plate in order to maintain consistent playing time.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Launches homer in loss

Bader went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Athletics. Bader was back in the lineup after sitting out the previous two games. The Giants may simply be managing his reps coming off a hamstring injury, but Bader could also lose some at-bats against right-handed pitchers if the left-handed-hitting Drew Gilbert can show consistency at the plate. Through 66 plate appearances this season, Bader is batting .159 with a .515 OPS, three homers, five RBI, six runs scored and no stolen bases.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Taking seat Thursday

Bader isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Bader has a hit in each of his first two games since returning from a hamstring injury, but he'll miss a second consecutive start Thursday while Drew Gilbert patrols center field for the Giants.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Sitting vs. Ohtani

Bader is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. With the Dodgers sending Shohei Ohtani to the mound, Bader will be on the bench for the beginning of Wednesday's game while the Giants start Heliot Ramos, Drew Gilbert and Jung Hoo Lee in the outfield from left to right. Bader has gone 3-for-11 with a solo home run and a double over his last three games.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Homers in Tuesday's win

Bader went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Dodgers. Bader's blast tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth inning. The outfielder exited the game for pinch hitter Drew Gilbert in the seventh, which is likely part of the plan to help Bader ease back in after a month-long absence due to a hamstring strain. Bader is batting .136 with two homers, four RBI, five runs scored and no stolen bases over 62 plate appearances this season. He's likely to handle a starting role in center field, but if he can't dig out of his early slump, the right-handed-hitting Bader could cede some at-bats to the left-handed Gilbert, at least against right-handed pitchers.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Doubles in return

Bader (hamstring) went 1-for-5 with a double in Monday's 9-3 win over the Dodgers. After being activated from the injured list Monday, Bader returned to the Giants' lineup and hit a leadoff double in the eighth inning. The veteran outfielder missed a month of big-league action with a left hamstring strain, and he struggled at the plate in the beginning of the year while dealing with the injury. He's now slashing .123/.150/.211 with four runs scored, three RBI and one home run across 60 plate appearances this season.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Reinstated from injured list

The Giants activated Bader (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Bader missed a month of action with a left hamstring strain that first began bothering him late in spring training. He went 4-for-18 with two home runs, one stolen base and a 3:5 BB:K over six rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento. Bader should be in line to serve as the Giants' primary center fielder moving forward.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Begins rehab assignment

Bader (hamstring) went 1-for-3 in Triple-A Sacramento's 4-0 loss to Reno on Tuesday. Bader, who began experiencing hamstring tightness less than a week before Opening Day, was placed on the 10-day injured list in mid-April due to a left hamstring strain. He made his first rehab appearance Tuesday and recorded a single before being lifted in the sixth inning. The veteran outfielder is eligible to be reinstated from the injured list, though he'll likely require additional time to ramp up depending on how his hamstring responds following Tuesday's outing. In the meantime, Drew Gilbert will likely continue to see increased playing time for San Francisco.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Ready to run bases

Bader (hamstring) was cleared to resume running the bases Tuesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. The veteran outfielder was placed on the injured list April 15 due to a hamstring strain, which he initially suffered during spring training but attempted to play through at the start of the regular season. Bader is already eligible to be reinstated from the injured list but will need a bit more time to ramp up his baseball work before being activated.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Placed on IL with hamstring strain

The Giants placed Bader on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain. Bader first hurt his hamstring late in spring training. While he avoided the IL initially, the injury has continued to linger and likely contributed to his lackluster .115/.145/.192 batting line. Jung Hoo Lee will likely shift over to center field while Bader is out, opening up right field for Jerar Encarnacion, Drew Gilbert and Will Brennan.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Nursing minor hamstring injury

Bader has been dealing with a minor left hamstring injury since spring training, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. It helps explain why he's out of the Giants' lineup Tuesday for the second straight game. Bader first tweaked his hamstring less than a week before Opening Day, and it seems the injury is still bothering him. It could at least partly explain the veteran outfielder's lackluster .115/.145/.192 batting line in his first 15 contests this season. At this point, it does not seem the injured list is under consideration for Bader. Jared Oliva is starting in center field and batting ninth Tuesday in Cincinnati in Bader's absence.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Hitting bench amid slump

Bader is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Jung Hoo Lee will slide over from his usual spot in right field to cover center in place of Bader, who will sit for the second time in four games. Bader has gotten off to a sluggish start to his first season with San Francisco, slashing just .115/.145/.192 with one home run, zero steals, three RBI and four runs across 55 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: In lineup Tuesday

Bader (hamstring) will start in center field and bat second during Tuesday's exhibition game against the Sultanes de Monterrey, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Bader has been dealing with left hamstring tightness since Friday, but he's now been given the green light to return to a game setting. Assuming his hamstring holds up, the 31-year-old outfielder figures to be good to go for San Francisco's season opener against the Yankees on Wednesday.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: DTD with hamstring issue

Bader is considered day-to-day after experiencing tightness in his left hamstring Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Bader dealt with a thumb injury earlier this spring, and now he's tending to what appears to be a minor hamstring injury. The Giants have just one more spring training game Saturday against Cleveland before beginning the regular season Wednesday against the Yankees. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, manager Tony Vitello sounded optimistic in regards to Bader's chances of being ready for Opening Day.

  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Pauses hitting

Bader (thumb) will be withheld from hitting until Monday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Bader had been dealing with thumb problems for several days before he aggravated it during Friday's Cactus League game, which led to an early departure. The Giants will help his thumb heal by keeping a bat out of his hands for a few days; meanwhile, Jerar Encarnacion and Will Brennan figure to benefit from a few extra reps in spring training.
