Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Homers early in win
Schanuel went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Orioles.
Schanuel's first-inning blast was ultimately all the Angels needed in the win. This was his third multi-hit effort in a row, and it appears the first baseman is getting on track again after struggling following his return from a stint on the injured list due to an ankle issue. Schanuel is now batting .266 with a .731 OPS, six homers, 30 RBI, 26 runs scored, 13 doubles and no stolen bases over 63 contests this season.

Angels' Ryan Johnson: Dominant for first win
Johnson (1-2) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out eight over six scoreless innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Tuesday.
Johnson had struggled in most of his other appearances this season, allowing three or more runs in four of his first five outings. He found something against the Orioles, throwing 63 of 90 pitches for strikes Tuesday. Over 19.1 innings across six games (three starts), Johnson still has an 8.84 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB. He appears set to do some learning on the job while filling in for Grayson Rodriguez (back) in the Angels' rotation. Johnson is tentatively projected to make his next appearance on the road versus the Mariners.

Angels' Wade Meckler: Resting up Tuesday
Meckler isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Taylor Blake Ward of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
After going 3-for-14 with six strikeouts across his last four starts, Meckler will retreat to the bench Tuesday while Christian Moore starts in left field, batting seventh.

Angels' Denzer Guzman: On bench Tuesday
Guzman isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Baltimore, Taylor Blake Ward of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Guzman will take a seat Tuesday after going 0-for-3 with a walk during Monday's series opener. Vaughn Grissom will cover third base and bat second while Guzman rests.

Angels' Donovan Walton: Taking seat Tuesday
Walton isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Taylor Blake Ward of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Walton has gone 13-for-27 with three homers, 10 RBI and four runs scored across his last seven starts, but the Angels will keep him on the bench to begin Tuesday's game. Oswald Peraza will start at second base and bat sixth.

Angels' Ryan Johnson: Drawing another start
Johnson is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Orioles at Angel Stadium.
The young right-hander will be making his second turn through the rotation as a replacement for Grayson Rodriguez (back), who was placed the injured list June 15. Though he delivered a stellar 2.65 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 21:1 K:BB in 17 innings over his three starts with Double-A Rocket City prior to his call-up, Johnson has yet to find success in his limited time in the big leagues over the last two seasons. Across 28 career innings in the majors spanning 19 appearances (two starts), Johnson owns a 9.96 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and 9.0 percent walk rate.

Angels' Jorge Soler: Homers in return
Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-1 loss to the Orioles.
Soler missed just over two weeks due to a left oblique strain. The veteran kept the Angels from getting shut out Monday, lifting a ninth-inning homer. He went 13-for-55 (.236) in the 14 games prior to his absence, a slight improvement compared to his overall numbers. He's batting .220 with a .713 OPS, 10 homers, 34 RBI, 29 runs scored, 10 doubles and a triple over 59 contests this season.

Angels' Sam Aldegheri: Surrenders five runs
Aldegheri (2-3) allowed five runs on five hits and a walk while striking out three over 4.2 innings to take the loss versus the Orioles on Monday.
Keeping the ball down was a problem. Taylor Ward led off the game with a home run, and Coby Mayo added a three-run blast in the fourth inning that did most of the damage to Aldegheri's line. He's now allowed 11 runs over his last 7.2 innings. On the season, the southpaw has a 5.47 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 16:12 K:BB through 24.2 innings over seven appearances (four starts). Aldegheri is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics.

Angels' Vaughn Grissom: May be headed for platoon role
Grissom is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Grissom will be excluded from the starting nine for the third time in four games, with each of those absences coming against right-handed pitching. With Jorge Soler (oblique) making an unexpected return from the injured list Monday, the Angels now have one fewer spot in the lineup available, and Grissom looks like he could find himself on the bench more often than not. Grissom could end up settling into the short side of a platoon with either Nolan Schanuel or Donovan Walton, the latter of whom has produced a .927 OPS since getting called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 22 to earn himself a steady role.

Angels' Nick Madrigal: Removed from 40-man roster
The Angels designated Madrigal for assignment Monday.
With the Angels welcoming Jorge Soler (oblique) back from the 10-day injured list, Madrigal ended up being a casualty of the 40-man roster. Following his May 27 call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake, the 29-year-old infielder slashed .273/.385/.295 with zero home runs, one stolen base, seven runs and two RBI over 52 plate appearances. If Madrigal isn't traded or claimed off waivers, he'll have the option of electing free agency if he doesn't wish to stick around in the Angels organization as a member of the Triple-A roster.

Angels' Jorge Soler: Comes back from IL
The Angels reinstated Soler (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in the Angels' series opener versus the Orioles.
Soler had been on the shelf since June 6 due to a left oblique strain, and after he checked out well after taking on-field batting practice in recent days, the Angels elected to bring him back from the IL without having him complete a rehab assignment beforehand. Because he returned a bit earlier than anticipated, Soler could be in line for a maintenance day or two during the Angels' upcoming six-game week, but he should settle back into a near-everyday role at DH.

Angels' Trey Mancini: Clears waivers
The Angels outrighted Mancini to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
Mancini has the ability to elect free agency after clearing waivers, but it looks as though he'll stick around in the Angels organization for the time being. The 34-year-old recently received his first look in the big leagues since 2023, appearing in five games for the Angels and going 4-for-13 with four RBI and a run before he was designated for assignment Wednesday.

Angels' Jose Siri: Picks up steal in win
Siri went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Athletics.
Siri continues to fill in for Mike Trout (hamstring) in center field. The theft was Siri's first of the season, but he has shown moderate speed in the past, logging at least 12 steals in three straight years from 2022-2024. He's rarely held a starting role with any team, and with Trout's absence likely to be on the shorter side, Siri will probably be back in a reserve role in a few weeks. He has hit well this season, batting .297 with an .883 OPS, four home runs, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored and three doubles over 73 plate appearances.

Angels' Donovan Walton: Clubs three-run homer
Walton went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Athletics.
The A's jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but Walton's blast in the second quickly put a dent in the advantage. He has gone 13-for-24 (.542) over his last eight games. Walton is a versatile defender, but he has seen most of his time lately at designated hitter in a strong-side platoon role. He's batting .343 with a .927 OPS, three homers, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases over 74 plate appearances this season.

Angels' Denzer Guzman: Hits game-tying blast
Guzman went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, a walk and a second run scored in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Athletics.
Guzman has homered in three straight games, taking advantage of the hitter-friendly conditions in Sacramento over the weekend. His blast Sunday was critical, as it erased a three-run deficit in the eighth inning. The infield prospect is now batting .271 with three homers, 11 RBI, seven runs scored, two doubles and a stolen base over 52 plate appearances in the majors this season.

Angels' Zach Neto: Completes comeback Sunday
Neto went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Athletics.
The Angels faced a 7-4 deficit after seven innings, but Neto's blast in the ninth gave them the lead. During the team's seven-game road trip, he went 7-for-29 (.241) with four homers and seven RBI. The shortstop continues to struggle to hit for average, but he's on a career-best pace in power. He's batting .225 with a .784 OPS, 17 homers, 39 RBI, 54 runs scored, 15 doubles, two triples and 11 stolen bases over 76 contests this season.
