  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Sweats out 16th save

Munoz earned a save against the Angels on Thursday, allowing two hits and walking one batter in one scoreless inning.

Munoz had little margin for error when he took over in the ninth frame, as Seattle held a meager 1-0 lead. The veteran closer allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base and yielded three total baserunners in the inning, but a caught-stealing helped him escape without giving up the tying run. The unsteadiness has been typical for Munoz this season -- he's recorded 16 saves but has also blown five save opportunities while posting an uncharacteristic 4.60 ERA ad 1.34 WHIP. Nonetheless, he's locked into the closer role and has now successfully converted each of his past seven save chances.

  • Mariners' Bryce Miller: Flirts with no-no in victory

Miller (4-2) earned the win over the Angels on Thursday, completing seven scoreless innings during which he allowed two hits and struck out eight batters without issuing any walks.

Miller and Angels starter Walbert Urena put up matching goose eggs until Seattle broke through for a run in the sixth inning. That ended up being all the Mariners needed, as Miler combined with two relievers for a shutout. The right-hander completely dominated Los Angeles, taking a no-hitter into the seventh frame before getting tagged for a pair of singles. He tallied 15 whiffs and eight punchouts while snapping a two-game losing streak. Miller got a late start to the season, as an oblique strain delayed his 2026 debut until May 13. However, he's been exceptional since joining the rotation, posting a 1.71 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 62:5 K:BB over 52.2 innings spanning nine appearances (eight starts).

  • Mariners' Victor Robles: X-rays come back negative

X-rays on Robles' injured right forearm came back negative Thursday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Robles was hit by a 97.9 mph sinker from Walbert Urena in the bottom of the third inning and was replaced in the outfield in the top of the fifth. Robles was on in relief of an injured Julio Rodriguez, who left the game in the third frame after he was hit in the back of the helmet on a throw from Nolan Schanuel in the first inning. Weston Wilson finished the game in right field for Seattle, as Luke Raley kicked over to center field.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: In concussion protocol

Rodriguez is in concussion protocol and will be reevaluated Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez was plunked in the back of the helmet by a throw from Nolan Schanuel in the bottom of the first inning and was removed from the game in the third frame. If he's eventually diagnosed with a concussion, Rodriguez could be looking at a stay on the 7-day injured list. With Victor Robles (forearm) also dealing with an injury Thursday, Weston Wilson finished the game in the outfield for Seattle.

  • Mariners' Victor Robles: Removed early with forearm injury

Robles was removed from Thursday night's contest against the Angels in the fifth inning with a right forearm injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Robles took a 97.9 mph sinker from Walbert Urena off his right forearm in the bottom of the third inning, and he was later replaced in the outfield by Weston Wilson before the top of the fifth. Robles had already entered the game in place of Julio Rodriguez (head), and Seattle will now operate especially short-handed for the remainder of the contest. More information on the status of Robles will likely come following the conclusion of Thursday's series finale.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Exits early Thursday

Rodriguez was removed from Thursday night's contest against the Angels in the third inning after taking a blow to the head earlier in the game, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez took a 78.2 mph throw from Nolan Schanuel off the back of his helmet while advancing to second base on a ground ball in the bottom of the first inning. After he was able to remain in the contest for an additional frame, he was replaced in center field by Victor Robles in the top of the third. Rodriguez will likely undergo additional testing to determine if he suffered a concussion.

  • Mariners' Emerson Hancock: Closing piggyback game Saturday

Hancock will be used as the latter half of a piggyback game with starter Logan Gilbert on Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Hancock was set to follow Gilbert out of the bullpen last Saturday, but the Mariners decided shortly before the game to give them both their own separate starts during the weekend. The team will now revive their original plan this Saturday, which presumably involves Hancock remaining on the mound through the end of the game once Gilbert's day is done. The 27-year-old posted a 5.19 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 26 innings in June, but he ended the month on a strong note while allowing just one earned run in 5.2 frames against Cleveland.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Getting piggybacked Saturday

Gilbert will be piggybacked by Emerson Hancock during the former's start against Toronto on Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Gilbert and Hancock were originally supposed to work together in a piggyback game last weekend, but a last-minute change allowed the two pitchers to both make their own traditional starts. Now back in a piggyback plan, Gilbert could be limited to roughly five innings Saturday before Hancock steps in to close out the game.

  • Mariners' Luke Raley: Back in action Thursday

Raley (forearm) will start in right field and bat seventh Thursday against the Angels.

Raley has missed each of the Mariners' last three games while dealing with a sore left forearm, but the issue appears to have subsided ahead of Thursday's series finale. He'll be looking to turn things around offensively after posting just a .398 OPS in 61 plate appearances during June.

  • Mariners' Weston Wilson: Plates two Tuesday

Wilson went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Angels.

Wilson has been used sparingly since joining the Mariners' big-league roster. He has gone 2-for-11 with two steals and two RBI over four contests since his contract was selected from Triple-A Tacoma on June 19. The outfielder is batting .220 with a .616 OPS, four thefts, one home run, five RBI, seven runs scored and a double over 57 plate appearances between Seattle and Baltimore this season. Expect Wilson to remain in a reserve role during his time in the majors.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Three hits, two runs in win

Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Angels.

Rodriguez struggled in the middle of June, but he turned it around in the final week. He's on a seven-game hitting streak, a span in which he has gone 12-for-29 (.414). The one negative during his streak is a lack of power -- all 12 hits have been singles. For the season, Rodriguez is batting .259 with a .745 OPS, 14 home runs, 40 RBI, 46 runs scored, 15 doubles and 12 stolen bases over 86 contests.

  • Mariners' Colt Emerson: Swipes bag, drives in two

Emerson went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Angels.

Emerson logged his first multi-hit effort since June 2 versus the Mets. The infield prospect has gotten steady playing time in June, but he hit just .205 (16-for-78) during the month. He's now batting .218 with a .749 OPS, seven home runs, two steals, 19 RBI, 15 runs scored, five doubles and a triple through 37 contests. Emerson has a 32.6 percent strikeout rate, so he'll likely continue to struggle with hitting for average until he cuts down on the swing-and-miss issues.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Collects seventh win

Woo (7-6) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five over 6.1 innings to earn the win over the Angels on Tuesday.

Woo had a tumultuous June, allowing 19 runs over 28.2 innings across five starts. He ended on a positive note with this outing, salvaging a 2-3 month, but Woo's outings were mostly against low-end teams. He's posted to a 4.17 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 97:19 K:BB through 99.1 innings over 17 starts this season. The right-hander's next outing is projected to be on the road in Miami.

  • Mariners' Luke Raley: Remaining on bench Tuesday

Raley (forearm) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

Raley will stay on the bench for a third straight game while he continues to deal with soreness in his non-throwing forearm. Weston Wilson will pick up the start in right field in Raley's stead.

  • Mariners' Josh Simpson: Returns to Tacoma

The Mariners optioned Simpson to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Simpson will head back to the minors after coughing up one run on two hits and a walk in just two-thirds of an inning during his lone appearance Sunday. Cole Wilcox was recalled from Tacoma to fill the open bullpen spot.

  • Mariners' Cole Wilcox: Back in big leagues

The Mariners recalled Wilcox from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Wilcox was sent down to Triple-A in early May and has since turned in a 5.03 ERA and 1.30 WHIP alongside a 24:6 K:BB over 19.2 innings. Despite his subpar performance, he'll return to the big leagues to replace Josh Simpson and add a fresh arm to the Mariners' bullpen.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Idle Tuesday

Canzone is not in the lineup versus Angels on Tuesday.

Canzone is absent from the lineup after starting in Monday's 6-2 win against the Angels, in which he went 1-for-4 with a home run. Randy Arozarena has the start as the designated hitter while Victor Robles gets the start in left field Tuesday.
