Bailey went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Bailey had gone 0-for-9 across his previous five games. The 25-year-old is seeing a majority of the playing time behind the plate over Sam Huff while Tom Murphy (back) is on the 60-day injured list. Bailey hit .234 with a .637 OPS over 121 games in 2024, so while the steady playing time is nice, the rest of his offensive production is pretty standard for a catcher. He's also a reigning Gold Glove winner, so his strong defense will afford him some leeway through slumps with the bat.

Yamamoto (1-1) took the loss after allowing an unearned run on three hits and three walks in six innings Friday against Philadelphia. He struck out five.

Yamamoto contained a loaded Phillies lineup Friday, but he received no run support and was outdueled by Jesus Luzardo's seven shutout frames for the Phillies. Yamamoto allowed a lone extra-base hit on the night, which ultimately led to Trea Turner stealing third base and coming home to score on a Yamamoto throwing error. The star right-hander has now tossed at least five innings and given up two runs or fewer in each of his first three starts this year, and up next is a matchup in Washington next week.

Ramos went 3-for-5 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Ramos has opened the season hot with a seven-game hitting streak. This was his second multi-hit effort, and he's now batting .323 with three homers, three doubles, eight RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases. The one concern is his 1:12 BB:K -- a lofty strikeout rate could lower his ceiling over time. For now, it's just a small-sample issue, and it's not a particularly big one given the quality of contact when he's not striking out.

Wade went 3-for-6 with a triple, two doubles, one walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Wade was 0-for16 over his first five games of the season, but it looks like his bat is waking up. He has four extra-base hits over the last two contests -- he hit his first home run of the season Wednesday in Houston and showed off with a strong game atop the order Friday. Power isn't necessarily a huge part of his game, however, as he slugged just .381 last season, though he got on base at a .380 clip last year thanks to a 15.8 percent walk rate. Wade will likely function as a strong-side platoon option at first base for the bulk of 2025, and his on-base skills position him well as a leadoff option in that role.

Irvin didn't factor into the decision Friday against Arizona after allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out three.

Just as Brandon Pfaadt did for the Diamondbacks, Irvin struggled to keep the ball in the yard Friday. Corbin Carroll got to Irvin for a two-run homer in the third inning and tagged the right-hander for another two-run shot in the fifth. Irvin now holds a 5.40 ERA and 1.70 WHIP with five punchouts over 10 innings to begin the campaign, and he won't be a recommended streamer in fantasy leagues in his next scheduled start against the Dodgers in the middle of next week.

Adames went 3-for-7 with a double, three RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Adames hit an RBI double in the fifth inning to give the Giants a 6-5 lead. That was one of many twists and turns in the game, which ended with his two-run, walk-off single in the 11th. He doubled his hit total for the season and is now batting .200 (6-for-30) with six RBI and three runs scored over seven contests. Adames also logged his first steal of the campaign, and he could be a contributor with his speed after a career-high 21 thefts in 2024 with the Brewers.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two walks in Friday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Chapman was one of five Giants with multiple hits in the contest, earning his first multi-hit effort of the season. The third baseman is batting .280 with two homers, six RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base over seven contests. He's added a 5:9 BB:K as well. Chapman should continue to handle a near-everyday role after topping 150 games played in three of the previous four seasons. He is locked in as the Giants' cleanup hitter so far.

Pfaadt (1-1) picked up the win after allowing four runs on six hits and no walks in six innings Friday against Washington. He struck out four.

The right-hander was plagued by the long ball Friday, giving up a solo homer to CJ Abrams and a two-run shot to Luis Garcia in the opening frame. Pfaadt settled in to throw four scoreless innings thereafter, but Nathaniel Lowe took him deep for a solo blast in the sixth frame. Pfaadt has handed out just one free pass to go with nine strikeouts over his first 12 innings of the year, but he'll carry a 5.25 ERA into his next scheduled start in the middle of next week at home against Baltimore.

Verlander allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 2.1 innings, taking a no-decision in Friday's extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Both teams dipped into their bullpens early, and the Giants had to because Verlander wasn't pitching well early on. He threw 44 of 65 pitches for strikes but gave up a solo home run to Julio Rodriguez in the first inning and got in more trouble in the third. The veteran right-hander's first year with the Giants is off to a mediocre beginning -- he's allowed five runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out seven over 7.1 innings across two starts. He's tentatively scheduled for a home start versus the Reds next week.

McCutchen went 3-for-4 in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Yankees.

McCutchen's playing time has been reduced while Bryan Reynolds is limited to designated hitter due to a triceps injury that affects his throwing but not his hitting. This led to McCutchen being on the bench for three games in a row. The Pirates were comfortable putting the right-handed-hitting McCutchen in right field Friday versus southpaw Max Fried, but it has typically been Jack Suwinski filling in while Reynolds is limited. McCutchen is 6-for-18 (.333) with a home run, two RBI and a double across his first six contests this season.
