Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Earns four-inning save

Phillips earned the save in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Brewers, allowing one run on three hits and no walks with four strikeouts over four innings.

Phillips took over for Janson Junk in the sixth inning and finished the game, earning his first career save in the process. It was the 27-year-old's longest outing of the season, and his resume now interestingly includes both a save and complete-game shutout, the latter of which he recorded with the Phillies last year. He's been steady in relief for the Marlins this season, posting a 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 34:15 K:BB across 53.1 innings.

Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Brewers.

Hernandez launched a three-run homer in the fifth inning that proved to be the difference in the game. The 25-year-old has hit safely in four straight contests and continues to make the most of his part-time role, slashing .326/.382/.511 with four home runs, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored across his first 102 major-league plate appearances.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Fills stat sheet in win

Myers went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Brewers.

Myers was a thorn in the Brewers' side all game, highlighted by a 428-foot homer that doubled the Marlins' lead in the sixth inning. It was a much needed effort for the 29-year-old, as he entered the contest mired in a 1-for-24 slump since the All-Star break. For the year, he's slashing .262/.309/.362 with five home runs, 25 RBI, 24 runs scored and 15 steals across 246 plate appearances.

It marked the sixth time in 21 starts the 30-year-old has surrendered multiple homers, and he's now allowed six or more earned runs on five occasions. He'll carry a 6.68 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 55:36 K:BB across 102.1 innings into a home matchup with the Pirates next weekend.

He was better with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, posting a 3.54 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 33:16 K:BB over 20.1 frames spanning 18 appearances. Heaney (5-9) earned the win against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing two hits and no walks with four strikeouts over five innings.

Heaney threw 47 of 71 pitches for strikes, generating 10 whiffs and limiting the Diamondbacks to just three hard-hit balls. It was a much-needed effort for the 34-year-old, who had allowed 14 earned runs over nine innings in his previous three starts. He'll take a 4.79 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 78:35 K:BB across 107 innings into a road matchup with the Rockies next weekend.

The 2022 first-round pick has yielded zero runs in three of his last four starts, which now has him at a 3.67 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 68.2 innings this season. It was Horton's first win since June 3 against the Nationals, and he'll look to make it two in a row in his next start, which is slated for next weekend at home against the Orioles.

Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly: Suffers tough-luck loss

Kelly (9-6) took the loss against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 6.2 innings.

Kelly gave up a two-run homer in the second inning, and that proved to be all the Pirates needed as the Diamondbacks were shut out. The 36-year-old still logged his fourth quality start in five July outings, allowing just eight earned runs over 30.2 innings during that stretch. He'll take a 3.22 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 121:38 K:BB across 128.2 innings into a road matchup with the Athletics next weekend.

Happ put the Cubs on the board in the seventh inning with a solo home run off Jordan Leasure and crossed home plate for a second time after Matt Shaw drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. Although Happ has struggled at the plate this summer with a .592 OPS in July, he has reached base safely in nine of his last 10 games, going 9-for-34 (.265) with five walks, six runs, two home runs and four RBI over that span.

He was quickly pulled from the contest after having thrown 24 pitches, 13 of which were balls, and giving up four runs on two hits and two walks while retiring just one batter. It's been a rough campaign for Agnos, as he's posted a 6.98 ERA with a 17:16 K:BB over 29.2 frames for Colorado.
