  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Hit streak reaches eight games

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-3 loss Atlanta. Lowe's fourth-inning home run extended a hit streak to eight games. During the streak, Lowe has gone 11-for-30 (.367) with four doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored. He's getting regular playing time against right-handers while Reds manager Terry Francona shuffles the starting lineup to cover for injured third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (back). Lowe is slugging at a career-high .570 percent with 18 of his 33 hits going for extra bases.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Taking seat against lefty

Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets. The Mets are sending a lefty (David Peterson) to the bump for the second game of the series, so the left-handed-hitting Lowe will retreat to the bench. Spencer Steer will cover first base in place of Lowe, who went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run in the Reds' 8-2 win Monday in the series opener.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Getting afternoon off

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. After slugging home runs in both ends of Saturday's twin bill, Lowe will take a seat for the series finale while the Cardinals send lefty Brycen Mautz to the hill. The Reds recently welcomed Eugenio Suarez back from the injured list, but manager Terry Francona could continue to find regular room in the lineup at first base for Lowe against right-handed pitching while the 30-year-old is wielding a hot bat. Over the last week, Lowe has gone 8-for-22 with five extra-base hits, seven RBI and four runs.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Two-homer day in twin bill

Lowe homered in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. He went a combined 3-for-8 with two home runs and three RBI. Lowe started at first base in both games while Sal Stewart served as the designated hitter in the matinee and handled third base in the night cap. An injury to Ke'Bryan Hayes (back) should result in consistent playing time for Lowe at first base or DH against right-handers while a combination of Stewart and Eugenio Suarez fill in at the hot corner. Lowe is up to eight home runs and 23 RBI over 38 games.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Homers in matinee

Lowe started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 9-1 loss to the Cardinals in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. Lowe gave the Reds an early lead with his second-inning homer, but other than that, Cincinnati didn't put up much of fight. It was the seventh homer of the season for Lowe, who has hits in five consecutive starts, going 7-for-22 with three doubles, a home run and five RBI during that span. He could earn more playing time after the Reds placed third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (back) on the 10-day injured list Friday. Whether Sal Stewart moves from first to third or the recently activated Eugenio Suarez handles the hot corner, Lowe could see time at first base or DH.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Goes deep again

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs. Lowe gave the Reds a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning with a solo homer, his sixth in the last 11 games. He's swallowed up many of the starts at designated hitter since Eugenio Suarez (oblique) landed on the 10-day injured list; however, the injured infielder/DH began baseball activities this week. Suarez has fielded grounders and began hitting in an indoor cage. A rehab assignment should follow, which means Lowe's window could be closing within the next week.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Power surge continues

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and an additional run scored in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Rockies. The 30-year-old first baseman is on a tear at the plate, going deep five times in his past seven games. With Eugenio Suarez (oblique) sidelined, Lowe is set to serve as the Reds' primary designated hitter in the interim. On the year, Lowe is batting .288 with nine extra-base hits, 12 RBI and seven walks over 52 at-bats.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Covers DH against righty

Lowe served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Tigers. Lowe followed Sal Stewart's three-run homer in the first inning with a solo shot. It was the second consecutive game in which Lowe had gone deep. He should see the bulk of his at-bats at DH against right-handers while Eugenio Suarez (oblique) is on the 10-day injured list.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Completes comeback

Lowe started at designated hitter and went 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 9-8 win over Detroit. Balls were flying out Great American Ball Park on Friday as Lowe's pair were two of the eight homers hit by the two teams. His second one was a walk-off job that completed the second of two comebacks by the Reds, who had trailed 5-0 early and were down 8-7 entering the bottom of the ninth inning. Lowe was a late addition to the lineup, replacing Eugenio Suarez, who is bound for the injured list with an oblique injury. That will lead to Lowe getting more run at DH against righties.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Bases-clearing double Saturday

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a three-run double during the Reds' 7-3 win over the Angels on Saturday. Lowe gave the Reds a 4-0 lead in the first inning after a bases-clearing, three-run double off George Klassen (finger). Lowe has been limited to a bench role early on in the season, and he doesn't have a clear path to regular playing time unless Sal Stewart were to miss time.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Added to Cincinnati's roster

The Reds selected Lowe's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. The move corresponds with the Reds placing right-hander Hunter Greene (elbow) on the 60-day injured list. Lowe signed a minor-league contract with Cincinnati in mid-February and made a strong case for a spot on the Opening Day roster across his 17 Cactus League games, when he slashed .268/.362/.585 with three home runs and eight RBI in 47 plate appearances. Lowe gives the Reds another left-handed bat and depth at first base behind Sal Stewart.

  • Reds' Nathaniel Lowe: Expected to make roster

Lowe has made the Reds' Opening Day roster in a reserve role, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports. Lowe has made a strong case for a roster spot this spring, slashing .270/.357/.622 with three home runs, four doubles and eight RBI through 15 games. Though the veteran infielder will break camp with the big-league club, his fantasy value will likely be limited since the Reds are intending to use him in a bench role. Lowe signed with Cincinnati on a minor-league contract in mid-February, so he'll still need to be added to the 40-man roster ahead of Opening Day.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: DFA'd by Red Sox

The Red Sox designated Lowe for assignment Tuesday. Lowe had been set to be non-tendered later this week, so this transaction just serves a way to remove him from the 40-man roster sooner. The veteran first baseman slashed only .228/.307/.381 with 18 home runs over 153 regular-season games between the Nationals and Red Sox in 2025. Lowe will become a free agent once he officially clears waivers.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Slumping in September

Lowe went 1-for-3 in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Atheltics. Lowe has hit the skids after a productive start to his Red Sox tenure. He sported a .974 OPS with two home runs and eight RBI over his first 12 games in a Boston uniform, but Lowe has languished since then with a .576 OPS and just two RBI in the subsequent 13 contests.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Idle against southpaw

Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians. The left-handed-hitting Lowe was included in the lineup against Cleveland southpaw Parker Messick in Monday's 6-4 win, but he'll hit the bench while the Guardians send another lefty (Joey Cantillo) to the bump for the finale. Romy Gonzalez will check in for Lowe at first base.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Homers in win

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 11-7 win over Cleveland. Lowe doubled and scored Boston's first run in the second inning before swatting a solo shot in the third. He'd entered the game on a 3-for-17 run with zero extra-base hits or RBI. The lefty batter was eventually lifted for a pinch hitter (Rob Refsnyder) against left-handed reliever Tim Herrin. Aside from the recent unproductive stretch of hitting, Lowe's provided a boost for Boston as the team's primary first baseman against right-handers, going 12-for-36 (.333) with five extra-base hits and eight RBI over 12 games.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Goes on paternity leave

The Red Sox placed Lowe (personal) on the paternity list Thursday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports. While he welcomes a new child, Lowe will be away from the Red Sox for between one and three days, so he should be back with the team no later than Sunday's game against the Pirates. Lowe had been occupying the strong side of a platoon at first base, but Romy Gonzalez could be in store for more opportunities against right-handed pitching in the short term while Lowe is away.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Heading to paternity list

The Red Sox will place Lowe on the paternity list Thursday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports. Lowe will be permitted to miss up to three games while he spends time with his growing family. Rob Refsnyder (oblique) is expected to be activated off the injured list in a corresponding move to take Lowe's place on the 26-man roster. Meanwhile, Romy Gonzalez will likely benefit from a few extra starts at first base.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Taking seat against lefty

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees. Lowe has gotten off to an excellent start to his time with the Red Sox by batting 5-for-14 with a home run, two doubles, two walks, five RBI and three runs through his first four games, but the Red Sox aren't yet ready to expose the left-handed-hitting first baseman to lefty pitching. For the second straight matchup against a lefty starter (Carlos Rodon), Lowe will cede first base to the right-handed-hitting Romy Gonzalez.

  • Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Producing for new team

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Yankees. Lowe contributed to Boston's seven-run ninth inning with a run-producing single and then scored himself. He's either scored or driven in a run in five straight games since joining the Red Sox. Lowe is 5-for-14 with three walks, two doubles, a home run, five RBI and four runs scored for his new team.
