  • Orioles' Brandon Young: Saturday's start postponed

Young and the Orioles won't face the Tigers on Saturday, as the game was postponed due to rain.

The two sides will make up Saturday's contest in a doubleheader Sunday, and Young will draw the start in the early game, per Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com. The 27-year-old has given up three earned runs or fewer in five of his six big-league starts this season, though he made it through just 3.2 innings during his most recent outing against the Nationals.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Pops first homer of 2026 on Friday

Holliday went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, one walk and two runs scored in Friday's 7-4 win over the Tigers.

After batting seventh and then eighth in the order in his first two games of the season Tuesday and Wednesday, Holliday was in the nine hole Friday. He logged his first two hits of the 2026 campaign, singling and scoring in the third inning before popping a two-run homer off Jack Flaherty in the fourth. Through three contests, Holliday is 2-for-7 at the plate with a 1:3 BB:K across eight plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Pete Alonso: Homers, drives in four Friday

Alonso went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer, a sacrifice fly, four RBI and one walk in Friday's 7-4 win over the Tigers.

Alonso took Jack Flaherty deep for his 10th home run of the season in the bottom of the third inning, sending a 93 mph fastball to the opposite field for a three-run blast. After a brutal April, Alonso appears to be coming around with the bat this month, as he's hitting .276 with six homers, 19 RBI, 12 runs scored and a .900 OPS since the beginning of May. On the year, Alonso is slashing .229/.312/.448 with 10 long balls, 32 RBI, 29 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 23:53 BB:K across 218 plate appearances. He's in the 97th percentile in hard-hit rate and 99th percentile in average exit velocity.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Three more hits in win Friday

Henderson went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Friday's 7-4 win over the Tigers.

It was Henderson's second straight three-hit game after he posted a four-hit day last weekend. His bat appears to be heating up with the weather, as Henderson is 13-for-31 (.419) with three doubles, one homer, three RBI and three runs scored over his last seven games, raising his average 32 points. On the year, Henderson is slashing .229/.278/.425 with 10 long balls, 24 RBI, 26 runs scored, six stolen bases and a 14:64 BB:K across 230 plate appearances. Henderson's strikeout rate (27.8 percent) and walk rate (6.1 percent) are the worst marks of his career.

  • Orioles' Anthony Nunez: Picks up third save Friday

Nunez earned the save in Friday's 7-4 win over the Tigers, striking out two with no walks in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.

While Rico Garcia was getting the initial saves after Ryan Helsley (elbow) was shelved May 1, Garcia was deployed in the sixth inning of this one and recorded the final two outs to preserve a 6-4 lead. Nunez has handled two save opportunities since Garcia was last put in that position, so it appears manager Craig Albernaz is willing to mix and match at the end of games. On the season, Nunez has a 4.94 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB across 23.2 innings.

  • Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Gets fourth win in bulk relief

Bassitt (4-3) picked up the win Friday against the Tigers, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with four strikeouts across 4.1 innings.

Bassitt followed lefty opener Keegan Akin for the second time in his last three outings Friday and allowed at least three runs for the third time in four appearances this month. The 37-year-old is averaging a career-low 91.3 mph with his fastball this season, while his strikeout rate has plummeted to 15.3 percent from 22.6 percent in 2025. He'd been at 22.2 percent or better in each of the previous five campaigns. On the year, Bassitt owns a 5.51 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 34:19 K:BB across 47.1 innings.

  • Orioles' Keegan Akin: Will open for Baltimore

Akin will serve as the opener ahead of Chris Bassitt for Friday's game against the Tigers, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Akin opened ahead of Bassitt on May 10 against the Athletics and pitched one inning, recording a pair of strikeouts. The left-hander has produced an unsightly 13.50 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB across 8.2 innings with the big-league club this season.

  • Orioles' Jose Espada: Sent outright to Triple-A

The Orioles outrighted Espada to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

He's been scrubbed from the 40-man roster, but Espada will stick around in the organization after clearing waivers. Espada tossed a scoreless frame in his lone big-league outing this season.

  • Orioles' Pete Alonso: Slugs ninth homer

Alonso went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Rays.

The veteran first baseman took Jesse Scholtens deep in the sixth inning for a solo shot as the O's grabbed a 3-1 lead, but the bullpen couldn't make it stick. Alonso snapped a 10-game power drought in the process, with the homer being his ninth of the season to go along with a .228/.310/.434 slash line and 28 RBI in 50 contests.

  • Orioles' Shane Baz: Strong start wasted Wednesday

Baz didn't factor into the decision Wednesday as the Orioles were downed 5-3 by the Rays, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out six.

The right-hander delivered his second straight quality start on 94 pitches (57 strikes), and Baz left the mound in line for his second win of the season, but the Baltimore bullpen couldn't close things out. Baz is still struggling to find the strike zone, however, and he's issued at least three free passes in four straight outings. He'll take a 4.87 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 48:25 K:BB through 57.1 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week in a rematch with Tampa Bay.

  • Orioles' Reed Trimble: Heads back to IL

Triple-A Norfolk placed Trimble on its 7-day injured list Tuesday due to right hamstring discomfort, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

After opening the season on Norfolk's IL due to a hamstring injury, Trimble returned to the lineup May 12. However, he played in just two games and went 2-for-8 with a pair of home runs, a stolen base, four RBI and three runs before returning to the shelf due to an apparent aggravation of the injury. The 25-year-old outfielder is without a clear timeline for a return.

  • Orioles' Levi Wells: Shelved with hip injury

Triple-A Norfolk placed Wells on its 7-day injured list Wednesday due to right hip discomfort, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The severity of the injury isn't known, but Wells will be out of action for at least a week while he recovers from the hip issue. Over his eight starts with Norfolk this season, the 24-year-old righty has posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB across 36 innings.

  • Orioles' Keagan Gillies: Returns from IL

Triple-A Norfolk reinstated Gillies (quadriceps) from its 7-day injured list and assigned him to Double-A Chesapeake on Tuesday.

After suffering a quad strain in spring training, Gillies opened the season on Norfolk's IL, but he'll settle into a bullpen role at Chesapeake now that he's healthy again. Gillies was activated after he turned in a 1.64 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB in 11 innings across 10 rehab appearances between Single-A Delmarva and High-A Frederick.

  • Orioles' Leody Taveras: Hitting bench Wednesday

Taveras is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

The switch-hitting Taveras will hit the bench for the second time in the series, with both of his absences coming when the Rays have sent lefty starters to the hill. Blaze Alexander will cover center field Wednesday and could end up working in a quasi-platoon with Taveras, who has been far more effective against right-handed pitching both this season and throughout his career.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Idle for series finale

Holliday is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

With the Orioles wrapping up their series in St. Petersburg with a day game after a night game, Holliday will get a breather. The 22-year-old returned from the injured list Monday and rejoined the lineup for Tuesday's 4-1 loss in what was his 2026 MLB debut. Holliday started at second base and went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before Jeremiah Jackson came on pinch hit for him in the top of the eighth inning.
