Mets' Luis Robert: Officially lands on 10-day IL
The Mets placed Robert on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a lumbar spine disc herniation.
Robert hasn't played in a few days and an MRI revealed the herniation in his back. He will be shut down for 7-to-10 days after being given an injection Thursday, per Max Goodman of NJ.com. While a minimum stay on the IL is unlikely, the Mets are hopeful Robert's absence won't be a lengthy one. Tyrone Taylor and MJ Melendez will see more action in the outfield for the Mets while Robert is shelved.

Mets' Luis Robert: Might require stint on injured list
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Robert's back pain hasn't improved, adding that the outfielder will undergo an MRI, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Robert will miss a third straight start Wednesday against the Nationals. More will be known about Robert's status after the imaging results are in, but Mendoza conceded that there's a chance the 28-year-old needs to spend time on the injured list. Tyrone Taylor and MJ Melendez would be in line for more playing time should Robert's absence be extended.

Robert is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals due to lower-back tightness, Chelsea Janes of SNY.tv reports.
Robert's absence from the lineup is his third in the past four games, so it's not a surprise to find out he's managing an injury. The veteran outfielder isn't scheduled to undergo any medical testing at this point, but that could change if there's no improvement in the next 48 hours. For now, Robert should be considered day-to-day.
