The Cubs announced Wednesday that Miler (elbow) has been throwing off a mound and facing hitters at the team's complex in Arizona, MLB.com reports.
Miller has seemingly progressed about as well as the Cubs could have hoped since undergoing surgery Oct. 13 to repair a torn right UCL and flexor tendon. Though the Cubs' main focus is ensuring that Miller is back to 100 percent heading into spring training, he looks like he could have a chance at making it back from the 60-day injured list at some point in September. A clearer target date for his return could emerge once he eventually moves his rehab program from Arizona to Chicago.

The Cubs announced July 5 that Miller (elbow) has resumed a throwing program in Arizona, MLB.com reports.
Chicago isn't completely ruling Miller out from returning from the 60-day injured list in September, but his main focus is getting back to full health for the start of the 2027 campaign after undergoing surgery last October to repair a torn right UCL and flexor tendon. Back in February, Miller signed a two-year, $2.5 million contract with the Cubs that includes a club option for 2028.

Miller exited Wednesday's game against the Phillies in the top of eighth inning with an apparent injury, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Miller threw eight pitches in the top of the eighth inning, allowing one run on two hits, before the Brewers' trainer came out to the mound to examine the right-hander. Miller was removed from the game and replaced Rob Zastryzny. Milwaukee has an off day Tuesday before resuming its series with Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Miller (forearm) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Friday.
Miller will make his Brewers debut when he gets into a game, as he's healthy for the first time since early July. The veteran reliever was traded from Arizona to Milwaukee on July 31. Before sustaining the forearm strain, Miller tallied a 1.98 ERA, 10 saves and eight holds over 36.1 innings for the Diamondbacks. Miller should be in contention for setup work, as Trevor Megill has been outstanding in the closing role.

Miller has been out for nearly a month, so he'll probably need at least a couple rehab appearances before joining the Brewers bullpen. Miller has been on the shelf since July 7 with a strained right forearm, but after turning in a 1.98 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 36.1 innings with Arizona, he'll most likely take on a high-leverage role in Milwaukee's bullpen once healthy. However, after notching 10 saves for Arizona prior to getting hurt, Miller is unlikely to be in line for many ninth-inning chances in Milwaukee while Trevor Megill has performed as one of the top closers in baseball this season. Miller recently resumed throwing bullpen sessions and should soon face hitters again before likely heading out on a brief minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated from the 15-day injured list.
