Juan Soto LF | NYM
Mets' Juan Soto: Not close to running program
Soto (calf) has been swinging a bat indoors and playing catch but is not close to being cleared for a running program, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Soto suffered a right calf strain less than a week ago, so it's not terribly surprising he's not ready to test things out by running yet. The Mets believe Soto's injury is minor, though his stay on the injured list is expected to extend past the minimum 10 days. Mark Vientos has picked up extra playing time since Soto was injured.

Corbin Carroll LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Battling hip injury
Carroll will sit out Thursday's game against the Mets due to a minor hip injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Carroll said he tweaked something in his hip while legging out a triple in Wednesday's win, though he noted that he isn't dealing with anything serious and expects to be back in action relatively soon. The 25-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a strong start this season, slashing .333/.408/.690 with two home runs, 11 RBI, nine runs scored and a steal through his first 12 games.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mets' Jorge Polanco: May require IL stint
Manager Carlos Mendoza said Thursday that Polanco may need to be placed on the injured list to allow his Achilles to heal, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
Mendoza said that Polanco's Achilles tendinitis began to bother him again after Wednesday's game, which is why he's absent from Thursday's lineup. This is already the second time this month that Polanco has had to miss a start due to problems with his Achilles, and although he's considered day-to-day for now, the Mets may be forced to put him on the shelf for a while if he continues to suffer regular setbacks.

Deyvison De Los Santos 1B | MIA
Marlins' Deyvison De Los Santos: Set to be recalled
The Marlins will recall De Los Santos from Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Friday's game in Detroit, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
He's expected to be the roster replacement for Griffin Conine (hamstring), who is bound for the 10-day injured list. De Los Santos was up briefly with the big club earlier this season, going 1-for-2 with a double. He's an option for playing time between first base and designated hitter, though an everyday role is unlikely.

Griffin Conine RF | MIA
Marlins' Griffin Conine: Likely headed to injured list
Conine (hamstring) is likely to be placed on the 10-day injured list, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Conine was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Reds after injuring his left hamstring on a diving attempt in the outfield. The Marlins have not yet referred to the injury as a strain, but it seems they're expecting to make a roster move. Deyvison De Los Santos is expected to be the roster replacement for Conine.

A.J. Minter RP | NYM
Mets' A.J. Minter: Starting rehab assignment
Minter (lat) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Thursday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
It will be the first game appearance for Minter since he underwent surgery on his left lat last May. Given how long the layoff has been, Minter is going to require a handful of rehab appearances before rejoining the Mets' bullpen. The veteran lefty will eventually slot into a setup role but could be eased into high-leverage situations.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mets' Jorge Polanco: Sitting down Thursday
Polanco isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Polanco will step out of the lineup Thursday after going 4-for-17 with a double over his last four games. His absence will move Francisco Alvarez into the DH spot while Luis Torrens starts behind the plate and bats eighth.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado: Getting breather Thursday
Arenado is absent from the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the Mets.
Arenado's tenure in Arizona has not gotten off to the best start, as he's just 8-for-40 with no home runs and a 1:10 BB:K. Jose Fernandez will play third base and bat fifth for the Diamondbacks in Arenado's stead.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Sitting out Thursday
Moreno is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Mets.
It's a routine day of rest for Moreno, who has reached base three times and driven in a run in the first two games of the series. James McCann will do the catching and bat sixth for the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Grabs first day off
Carroll is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Mets.
It's the first day off this season for Carroll, who is 7-for-14 at the plate across his last three games. Jorge Barrosa will handle right field and bat ninth in Thursday's rubber match.
