  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Erupts for three homers, seven RBI

Bregman went 3-for-3 with two walks, three home runs and seven RBI in Wednesday's 12-6 win over the Nationals. Bregman is officially on fire as he recorded his first career three-homer game and just his second multi-homer game of the season. The seven RBI are also a new career best. The veteran third baseman is now up to 16 long balls overall, and he's sporting a robust 1.123 OPS in 11 games this month with five of those home runs and 14 RBI. Bregman has put a sluggish start to the year behind him, and based on his recent performance, he could end up being a major difference-maker down the stretch.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Keeps rolling Tuesday

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 8-6 win over the Nationals. After tallying three hits in his last game Sunday, Bregman stayed locked in at the plate as he delivered his 13th home run of the season in the sixth inning Tuesday. The veteran third baseman is having a solid month so far with an .824 OPS, two long balls and seven RBI in 10 August contests. Bregman appears to be heating up in time for Chicago's playoff push, which is also good news for fantasy managers who have remained patient throughout the year while the 32-year-old struggled to get going.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Tallies three hits, two RBI in win

Bregman went 3-for-6 with a run scored and two RBI in Sunday's 10-2 win over the Royals. Bregman has mostly underwhelmed in his first season with the Cubs, but he turned back the clock with a productive performance Sunday. The veteran third baseman historically plays better down the stretch, and he should remain in the lineup most days as Chicago jockeys for playoff positioning. Bregman is now slashing .263/,317/.395 with a home run, six RBI and six runs scored across nine games this month.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Hits key home run Thursday

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 3-2, extra-innings win over the Blue Jays. He also stole a base. Chicago was scoreless with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning when Bregman gave the team a huge jolt, clubbing his 12th home run of the season off stingy Toronto closer Louis Varland to tie the game at 2-2. The veteran third baseman is now sporting a .766 OPS across six games this month. For his career, Bregman has a .955 OPS in August, which is his best of any month, so a hot streak could be just around the corner.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Leads charge Thursday

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Thursday's 4-2, 10-inning win over the Cardinals. Bregman had a nice series against St. Louis, going 10-for-18 with a home run, three RBI and seven runs scored across the four games. Overall, the veteran third baseman is now slashing .248/.341/.381 through106 contests and seems to be trending upward after a slow start to his tenure with the Cubs. Bregman has also been incredibly durable, as he's now played in all but three of Chicago's games this season.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Keeps rolling Tuesday

Bregman went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Cardinals. After getting a day off Sunday, Bregman has now gone 7-for-10 in his first two games back in the lineup. The veteran third baseman is having a slightly down season overall with a .245/.339/.374 slash line across 104 games, though he's starting to get his bat going recently. Bregman historically gets stronger later in the year, and with a career .963 OPS in August, he could be primed for a good stretch of performances as the calendar flips a page.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Racks up four hits in win

Bregman went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, three total runs and two total RBI in a 7-3 win against the Cardinals on Monday. Bregman helped Chicago get off to a fast start with a run-scoring double in the first inning. He added a solo homer to right field in the third and ended the contest with four hits, his most in a game since he went 5-for-5 versus the Rays in April of last year. Bregman entered Monday in a 1-for-16, four-game stretch at the plate, so the huge performance was a welcome sight for his fantasy managers. Even after Monday's big effort, the veteran third baseman is on pace for a career-worst .705 OPS.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Heading to bench Sunday

Bregman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates. After going 0-for-12 with two walks and four strikeouts in the past three games, the veteran third baseman will exit the lineup Sunday to end a run of 25 consecutive starts. Rookie Pedro Ramirez will step in at the hot corner for the series finale as Bregman's season-long OPS is down to .682 through 102 contests.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Reaches 10-homer mark

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 10-1 win over the Twins. Bregman opened the scoring with a two-run blast off Zebby Matthews in the first inning, giving him his 10th home run of the season. The veteran infielder has begun to heat up after a slow first half, homering three times over his last five games. Bregman entered the All-Star break with a lackluster .241 average and .696 OPS, but his recent surge could be an encouraging sign that he's turning things up offensively.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Homers again Sunday

Bregman went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, an additional run scored and four total RBI in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Reds. Bregman goes into the All-Star break with home runs on consecutive days to give himself a little momentum after a mostly uneven first half of the season. The veteran third baseman is batting .241 with a .695 OPS, nine long balls and 41 RBI across 94 contests. During his career, Bregman's best two months by OPS are August and July, so he could be primed for continued success after the break.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Plates winning runs with homer

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 5-3 win against the Reds on Saturday. Bregman made a huge impact with his lone hit, as he launched a two-run homer to left field in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie. That ended up being the decisive knock, as neither team scored for the remainder of the game. Bregman entered Saturday in an 0-for-11, three-game skid, and he's had a subpar first half of the campaign, slashing .236/.333/.345 with eight homers, 43 runs, 37 RBI and two stolen bases through 93 contests.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Doubles, drives in two Tuesday

Bregman went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Orioles. While it's mostly been a down season for Bregman, he has two multi-hit efforts across his last four games, and he's collected seven RBI in his last eight games. The veteran third baseman has played in all but two of Chicago's contests so far, and he's sporting a .690 OPS with seven home runs and 34 RBI overall. Bregman has traditionally been a better second-half performer during his career, and his consistent playing time gives fantasy managers some hope that he'll build momentum as the year moves along.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Powers offense Tuesday

Bregman went 1-for-3 with two walks and a three-run home run in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Padres. The veteran third baseman connected for his seventh home run of the season in the second inning against San Diego starter JP Sears. Bregman is struggling overall this month with a .200 batting average and 12 RBI in 25 games, and he's yet to really hit his stride in Chicago. His current .690 OPS would be the lowest of his 11-year MLB career.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Goes deep at Coors Field

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Rockies. Bregman enjoyed the thin Colorado air as he blasted his sixth home run of the season in the seventh inning. The Chicago third baseman came into the contest batting just .138 this month, and it's been a down campaign overall in his first year with the Cubs, as he has a .685 OPS through 310 plate appearances. Bregman has played in 68 of the team's 69 games, however, and he should continue to see ample playing time as he looks to build some momentum for the stretch run.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Pops fifth home run

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Cardinals. Bregman provided all of Chicago's offense in the sixth inning with his fifth home run of the season and first since May 12. While the third baseman isn't providing a ton of power, he is now riding an 11-game hitting streak, and he's scored six runs during the stretch. Bregman hasn't yet fully lived up to his big offseason contract from the Cubs, but he's historically been a player who heats up down the stretch, so his best production could still be ahead of him in 2026.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Doubles, scores in loss

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-1 loss to the Pirates. The Cubs are in a tailspin with 10 straight losses, but Bregman is at least carrying his weight lately with a six-game hitting streak, and he's batting .348 during the hot stretch. The Chicago third baseman has still been a bit underwhelming overall with a .699 OPS, which is well below his career .839 mark, but his track record suggests he'll continue to trend upward as the season progresses.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Scores three times Friday

Bregman went 2-for-5 with a walk and three runs scored in Friday's 10-5 win over the White Sox. Bregman is heating up with a six-game hitting streak, and he's batting .308 with a home run and five runs scored during the productive stretch. It's been a bit of a slow start overall for the veteran third baseman (.696 OPS), but his recent play could be a preview of better days ahead, and there should be no shortage of playing time for Bregman in the heart of Chicago's lineup.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Blasts fourth homer Tuesday

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 loss against Atlanta. Bregman accounted for Chicago's only hit of the game, launching a solo homer off Grant Holmes in the fourth inning to get the Cubs on the board. The veteran has struggled badly at the plate in May, going just 6-for-39 (.154) with a 5:10 BB:K across 10 games. Bregman's now slashing .233/.326/.350 with four homers, five doubles, 14 RBI and 17 runs scored in 187 plate appearances.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Given day off

Bregman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers. The third baseman will get a breather a day after the Cubs' 10-game winning streak came to an end. Bregman didn't contribute much to the club's heater by batting just .222 with seven runs and three RBI during the streak before going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Saturday. Matt Shaw will handle the hot corner in Bregman's place.

  • Cubs' Alex Bregman: Cleared to play through sore toe

Bregman (toe) will start at third base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Padres. Though he was in some pain after fouling a ball off of his foot in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Dodgers, Bregman remained in the lineup for Monday's series opener in San Diego before heading to the bench Tuesday. He still ended up making an impact in a reserve role in the Cubs' 8-3 win, entering the game as a pinch hitter and going 2-for-2 with a pair of base knocks, an RBI and a run while playing three innings in the field. Despite the quick turnaround Wednesday as the Cubs and Padres wrap up their series with a day game after a night game, Bregman looks like he's made enough progress with the toe injury to play a full nine innings.
