Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Hits third homer in last four games
Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Reds.
Arenado continued his recent surge at the plate Saturday, collecting two hits for the third consecutive game, including a solo home run off Alexis Diaz in the bottom of the ninth. The third baseman has now homered in back-to-back games and in three of his last four, giving him 13 on the season. He's hitting .367 this month with four long balls, eight RBI and four runs scored for the Cardinals' struggling offense.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Goes back to bench Sunday
Rivera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Though he has the platoon advantage in his favor with a lefty (Joey Wentz) on the bump for Detroit, Rivera will head to the bench, ending a streak of seven consecutive starts. Rivera posted a .915 OPS and 3:5 BB:K over that seven-game stretch, but he may still struggle to retain near-everyday playing time now that Lourdes Gurriel is back in action after recently overcoming a groin injury.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Three hits in Colorado
Machado went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rockies.
The third baseman returned from a fracture in his left hand June 2 and has looked 100 percent healthy, reeling off four multi-hit performances in his last five games and batting .333 (11-for-33) in eight contests since coming off the IL. Machado's had a disappointing start to the campaign overall -- his current .670 OPS would be a career low -- but he's capable of going on a tear and bringing his numbers up significantly.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Not in Saturday's lineup
Wisdom will be on the bench for Saturday's game against the Giants.
Wisdom's game always involves plenty of power alongside huge strikeout concerns, but it's the latter which has been more prevalent recently. He hit .250 with 10 homers through the end of April despite a 33.3 percent strikeout rate, but things have gone significantly downhill since then. In 29 games since the start of May, he's homered four times while hitting .149 with a 43.0 percent strikeout rate. Nick Madrigal will take over at third base Saturday.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Returns to lineup
Davis (hip) will bat cleanup and start at third base Saturday against the Cubs, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Davis was scratched from Friday's lineup with right hip tightness, but the injury was evidently a minor one. He made an appearance off the bench in the series opener and will return having missed just a single start. He'll look to continue a hot streak which has seen him post a 1.010 OPS over his last 13 games.

Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Riding pine Saturday
Castro is out of Saturday's lineup against the Mets, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The Pirates are facing three righties this weekend against the Mets, and so far Castro has started on the bench in the first two games of the series. He had started nine of 10 games prior to this weekend, with four of those starts coming against righties, but lately Ji Hwan Bae has handled the keystone against righties.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Mets' Eduardo Escobar: On base three times in loss
Escobar went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's loss to the Pirates.
Escobar recorded his third multi-hit performance in his last five games, although he's been stuck on the bench six times during that time as well. The veteran infielder has lost his starting job at the hot corner to Brett Baty, but if he keeps hitting, his playing time in a utility role should tick up, especially with the Mets now trying to cover for the loss of Pete Alonso (wrist).

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Steals rare bag
Riley went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.
He couldn't get much going with his bat, so Riley instead contributed with his legs as he stole his first base of 2023 and just the third of his career. The streaky third baseman has been locked in at the plate over the last month, and through his last 25 games Riley is slashing .333/.376/.566 with eight doubles, five homers, 14 RBI and 16 runs.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Career night Friday
Hayes went 5-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI, three runs scored and one steal in Friday's 14-7 win over the Mets.
Hayes had himself a night Friday, tying career highs with five hits and four RBI in a 14-7 win. The young third basemen had been tweaking his approach at the plate since the end of the road trip last week, and it has certainly paid dividends. Over his last seven games, Hayes has a scorching .586 average (17-for-29) with two home runs, nine RBI and three strikeouts.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Launches homer in win
Arenado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-4 win over the Reds.
Arenado got the Cardinals off to a good start with his first-inning blast. He's starting to get back into a rhythm in June, going 9-for-26 (.346) with three homers and seven RBI over his last seven games. The third baseman is up to a .272/.319/.469 slash line with 12 homers, 43 RBI, 29 runs scored and two stolen bases through 61 contests this season.
