  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Resting for series finale

Realmuto is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Guardians.

Realmuto will take a breather Sunday after going 0-for-8 with one run scored across the first two games of the series. Garrett Stubbs will start behind home plate and bat ninth against Cleveland southpaw Joey Cantillo.

  • Kyle Leahy SP | STL

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Recalled by St. Louis

The Cardinals recalled Leahy from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.

The move corresponds with the Cardinals designating right-hander Giovanny Gallegos for assignment. Leahy's last major-league outing was July 21 against Atlanta, when he pitched two scoreless innings and notched his first major-league save. Across 19 major-league outings this season, Leahy has a 3.90 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 32.1 innings.

  • Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Back in lineup

Chourio (ear) is starting in right field and batting third in Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Chourio was left out of Saturday's lineup due to an ear infection, but he appears to be over the issue and will return for the series finale Sunday. For the month of July, Chourio is slashing .318/.366/.455 with four stolen bases, six doubles, one home run, nine RBI and 10 runs scored across 71 plate appearances.

  • DJ Stewart RF | PIT

Mets' DJ Stewart: Optioned to Syracuse

The Mets optioned Stewart to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

The move is to make room on the 26-man roster for outfielder Jesse Winker, who was acquired by the Mets on Saturday. Stewart has struggled in July, batting 3-for-25 with six walks and eight strikeouts, and has a slash line of .172/.326/.298 across 187 major-league plate appearances this season.

  • Forrest Wall LF | SD

Marlins' Forrest Wall: Recalled from Jacksonville

The Marlins recalled Wall from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Wall will take the vacant spot on the 26-man roster that was left by Jazz Chisholm, who was traded to the Yankees on Saturday. Wall was claimed off waivers by Miami on Thursday after Atlanta designated him for assignment three days earlier. He has a slash line of .241/.313/.241 with three stolen bases, three runs scored and one RBI across 32 major-league plate appearances this season.

  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Keeps raking in win

FItzgerald went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's win over Colorado.

Fitzgerald went hitless in his first three trips to the plate before launching a solo shot in his final at-bat to extend San Francisco's lead to five runs. It marked the outfielder's eighth home run in his last 10 games while he also extended his hitting streak to 10 games with the long ball. For the month, Fitzgerald is now batting .390 with 11 extra-base hits, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.

  • Tanner Gordon SP | COL

Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Strikes out five in loss

Gordon (0-3) was the pitcher of record Saturday in the Rockies' 5-0 loss to the Giants in the second game of a doubleheader. He struck out five and allowing four earned runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings.

Gordon got off on the wrong foot, allowing back-to-back hits in both of the first two innings, leading to two early runs coming across for San Francisco. The right-hander would then cruise through the next two frames before once again surrendering back-to-back hits to open the fifth. The right-hander has now taken losses in all three of his starts this season, allowing at least four runs in each outing. On a positive note, he's managed to go six innings in two of those starts and currently holds a 12:2 K:BB on the campaign. Gordon was serving as the Rockies' 27th man for the doubleheader, so he'll likely be optioned back to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

  • Giants' Hayden Birdsong: Hurls five shutout frames in win

Birdsong (3-0) picked up the win over the Rockies on Saturday, allowing three hits and three walks over five shutout innings while striking out eight.

Birdsong once again proved he has the stuff to stick around in the big leagues, producing 20 swings-and-misses over five shutout innings to improve to 3-0 on the campaign. The right-hander has not allowed more than three runs in any of his five starts this season, and he hasn't surrendered more than three hits in three consecutive outings. He's gone 2-0 over that latter stretch while posting a 23:8 K:BB.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

    Phillies' Alec Bohm: Playing Sunday

Bohm is starting at third base and batting in the cleanup spot for Sunday's contest against Cleveland.

Bohm left in the seventh inning of Saturday's 8-0 win over the Guardians due to a left ankle contusion. The issue doesn't appear serious enough to sideline him for the series finale, and he will face off against Cleveland southpaw Joey Cantillo.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Idle vs. southpaw

Stott is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Guardians.

With left-hander Joey Cantillo taking the mound for Cleveland on Sunday, Stott will begin the contest in the dugout. Edmundo Sosa will start at second base and bat seventh.
