  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

    Phillies' Alec Bohm: Playing Sunday

Bohm is starting at third base and batting in the cleanup spot for Sunday's contest against Cleveland.

Bohm left in the seventh inning of Saturday's 8-0 win over the Guardians due to a left ankle contusion. The issue doesn't appear serious enough to sideline him for the series finale, and he will face off against Cleveland southpaw Joey Cantillo.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Idle vs. southpaw

Stott is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Guardians.

With left-hander Joey Cantillo taking the mound for Cleveland on Sunday, Stott will begin the contest in the dugout. Edmundo Sosa will start at second base and bat seventh.

  • Jason Adam RP | SD

Padres' Jason Adam: Headed to San Diego

The Padres acquired Adam from the Rays on Sunday in exchange for right-hander Dylan Lesko, outfielder Homer Bush and catcher J.D. Gonzalez, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Adam had shined in a high-leverage role out of the Tampa Bay bullpen this season, logging a 2.49 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 50:16 K:BB across 47 innings while recording four saves and 19 holds. With the Rays, Adam appeared to be next in line for saves behind closer Pete Fairbanks, and he'll likely find himself in a similar spot in the bullpen hierarchy in San Diego. The Padres have leaned on Robert Suarez as their primary closer this season, and he's done nothing to lose job security while rolling to a 1.51 ERA and 23 saves in 26 chances this season.

  • Devin Williams RP | NYM

Brewers' Devin Williams: Ready for season debut

The Brewers activated Williams (back) from the 60-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Marlins, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The 29-year-old is ready for his 2024 MLB debut after missing the first four months of the campaign while recovering from a pair of stress fractures in his back. Williams delivered four scoreless frames with a 6:2 K:BB during his four-game rehab assignment. It's possible the right-hander is eased into high-leverage spots early on, but he should fully reclaim closing duties from Trevor Megill in short order.

  • Will Benson RF | CIN

    Reds' Will Benson: Sitting Sunday

Benson is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Rays.

Benson will begin Sunday's game in the dugout with lefty Tyler Alexander expected to serve as the Rays' primary pitcher. Benson went 1-for-7 with four strikeouts across the first two games of the series. Spencer Steer will start in left field and bat in the cleanup spot.

  • Jake McCarthy LF | COL

Diamondbacks' Jake McCarthy: Five hits in win

McCarthy went 5-for-5 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

McCarthy was a thorn in Pittsburgh's side all night, reaching in all five of his trips to the plate while also sparking a two-run inning for Arizona in the fifth with a leadoff single. It marked the outfielder's first five-hit game of the season, and he brought his season average up from .269 to .285 with the performance. For the month he's batting .317 (13-for-41) with three RBI, eight runs scored and two stolen bases. However, McCarthy has also recorded just three extra-base hits since June 16.

  • Jake Fraley RF | TB

Reds' Jake Fraley: Out of Sunday's lineup

Fraley is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Fraley went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in the first two games of the series but will hit the bench Sunday with lefty Tyler Alexander poised to work as Tampa Bay's primary pitcher. Austin Slater will start in right field and bat eighth in the series finale.

  • TJ Friedl CF | CIN

Reds' TJ Friedl: On bench Sunday

Friedl is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Frield went 1-for-7 with a walk, a run and two strikeouts in his first two games back from the injured list and will take a seat Sunday with lefty Tyler Alexander set to serve as Tampa Bay's primary pitcher. Stuart Fairchild is starting in center field and batting sixth in the series finale.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Another long ball in win

Marte went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored while also drawing a walk in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

Marte kept his hot streak going Saturday, drawing a walk in his first trip to the plate before coming around to score Arizona's first run of the contest on a Christian Walker single. The second baseman then came right back with a two-run shot on the first pitch he saw in the second, giving him his fourth home run in his last five games. Over that stretch he's batting .444 (8-for-18) with 11 RBI and seven runs scored. Saturday also marked his fifth game this month in which he's driven in multiple runs.

  • Noelvi Marte RF | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Not in Sunday's lineup

Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.

Marte started Cincinnati's first seven games of the second half but will sit Sunday after hitting .192 with a .592 OPS during that span. Santiago Espinal will receive a start at the hot corner in the series finale versus the Rays.
