Marsh (knee) is not in the Phillies' starting lineup against the Marlins on Friday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Marsh is working through a right knee injury that popped up during Wednesday's game against the Giants. The injury isn't considered severe enough for him to be placed on the IL, but Marsh will miss Friday's series opener and is considered day-to-day. Johan Rojas will start in center field and bat ninth against Miami right-hander Sandy Alcantara.

Castellanos (hip) is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Marlins on Friday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Castellanos was removed from Thursday's game against the Giants in the seventh inning due to left hip flexor tightness, but the issue doesn't appear to be a serious one, as he's back in the lineup for Friday's series opener. Castellanos has gone 13-for-38 with two walks, four runs, one homer and seven RBI over his last 10 games.

Ozuna (hip) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Friday's contest versus the Twins.

Ozuna missed the entirety of this week's series in Toronto because of hip inflammation, but he's apparently feeling better after a few days of rest. The 34-year-old has cracked three homers while putting up a 1.008 OPS in his first 15 games this season.

Verdugo will start in left field and bat leadoff in Friday's game versus the Twins.

Verdugo is not only being thrown right into the lineup for his Atlanta debut, but he's being placed at the top of the batting order, as well. The veteran outfielder should play regularly for his new club, at least against right-handed pitching. Verdugo slashed only .233/.291/.356 across 149 regular-season games for the Yankees in 2024.

The Marlins placed Hill on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left wrist sprain, retroactive to Thursday.

Hill started out the season strongly, but he has failed to record a hit in each of his last four games. Those struggles may have been due in part to his wrist injury, which is severe enough to necessitate a trip to the IL. Hill's absence should open the door for Dane Myers and Javier Sanoja to see more playing time in the outfield, though Jesus Sanchez could also shift over from designated hitter to the outfield to fill in the gap left by Hill. Graham Pauley was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

The Marlins recalled Pauley from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Pauley was just sent down Thursday but returns to take the roster spot of the injured Derek Hill (wrist). With Connor Norby back in action at third base, Pauley's playing time with the Marlins will likely be limited.

Friedl is not in the Reds' starting lineup against the Orioles on Friday.

It's the first time since March 30 that Friedl will get a day off, with Blake Dunn getting the start in center field and batting ninth against Orioles southpaw Cade Povich in his place. Friedl has reached base safely in each of his last seven games, and over that span he has gone 8-for-27 with two walks, one stolen base, five runs scored and three RBI.

The Dodgers recalled Davis from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

It's the corresponding roster move for Bobby Miller getting optioned to Oklahoma City on Thursday. Acquired from the Red Sox in a trade this offseason, Davis has allowed five runs but struck out nine over 5.2 innings in the minors this season. He'll give the bullpen some length.

The Reds placed Lodolo on the paternity leave list Friday.

He had been scheduled to start Sunday in Baltimore, but that assignment will now go to Carson Spiers. Lodolo could slot back into the Reds' rotation as soon as Monday in Miami, but the club has not yet confirmed when his next start will happen.

Spiers was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Friday and is scheduled to start Sunday's game at Baltimore, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.

The 27-year-old was demoted to Louisville on April 8 but will rejoin Cincinnati for a spot start this weekend with Nick Lodolo being placed on the paternity list. Spiers made two starts for the Reds prior to being sent down and allowed five earned runs with an 8:3 K:BB across 9.1 innings.
