Stephenson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Yankees. Stephenson erased New York's early lead and then some with a three-run blast in the fourth inning. It was the sixth homer of the season for the catcher, who is having a sub-standard season at the plate overall but is showing life in June. Stephenson, who entered June with a .199 average and .625 OPS, is batting .250 with .707 OPS this month.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Blasts fourth home run

Stephenson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-2 win over the Mets. Stephenson delivered a key blow in Cincinnati's four-run fourth inning, taking Nolan McLean deep for a two-run shot to extend the lead. The homer was his fourth of the season as the catcher continues to search for more consistency at the plate. While the overall production has been underwhelming, one bright spot has been his improved plate discipline compared to the 2025 regular season, as Stephenson has raised his walk rate from 10 percent to 13.2 percent while lowering his strikeout rate from 33.9 percent to 27.1 percent. He is now slashing .181/.284/.307 with four doubles, 15 RBI and nine runs scored across 148 plate appearances.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: On base four times in win

Stephenson went 1-for-1 with three walks and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Phillies. The 29-year-old catcher has had a tough start to the season at the plate, but his .183/.291/.292 slash line may be the product of bad luck more than anything else. Stephenson's .235 BABIP is far below his career .318 mark, and he's shaved nearly seven points off his career-worst 33.9 percent strikeout rate from 2025. Tuesday's performance is at least a good sign he's not pressing to try and force a breakout.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Clubs grand slam in loss

Stephenson went 1-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam in Wednesday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Nationals. The backstop gave the Reds a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when he crushed an elevated Jake Irvin sinker over the left-field fence, but the game went sideways for Cincinnati from there. It was Stephenson's third career grand slam and also his third long ball of 2026 as he struggles to deliver consistent offense. Through 35 games, he's slashing just .187/.285/.308 with seven runs and 11 RBI despite plenty of red on his Statcast page -- Stephenson's 85th percentile average exit velocity of 91.9 mph would be a career high, and it comes with an 82nd-percentile hard-hit rate, 81st-percentile barrel rate and 93rd-percentile chase rate.
