  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Reaches 70 RBI

Montgomery went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Saturday against the Tigers.

Montgomery doubled home two runners in the third inning to break a 1-1 tie. His production continues to come in bunches, as he's driven in 17 runs across 25 games since the All-Star break despite hitting only .173 with a 37.3 percent strikeout rate. Montgomery reached 70 RBI for the campaign with the performance, paired with his 26 home runs.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Collects fifth save

Hudson struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his fifth save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Tigers.

Grant Taylor worked the eighth inning for the White Sox against the top of Detroit's order, leaving the ninth to Hudson, who got the job done on 13 pitches (nine strikes). It was Hudson's first save since July 22, but the southpaw has been prone to the occasional meltdown of late. Over 10.2 innings and 12 appearances since the All-Star break, he's produced two saves and three holds with a 6.75 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB.

  • White Sox's Anthony Kay: No-decision in Detroit

Kay didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Tigers, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The southpaw got tagged for single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings before leaving the mound after 86 pitches (57 strikes) with the score tied. Kay fell short of his third straight quality start, but he hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since the beginning of July, posting a 3.27 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB in 41.1 innings over his last eight outings. He'll look for his 10th win of the season in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against Atlanta.

  • White Sox's Edgar Quero: Optioned to Charlotte

The White Sox optioned Quero to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Quero will give up his spot on the active roster to Jake Rogers, who was claimed off waivers from Boston on Friday. Quero has slashed just .208/.279/.262 across 210 plate appearances in the majors this season and will have an even harder time earning opportunities with the big club now that he's one of five catchers on the 40-man roster.

  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Pops seventh homer

Peters went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run Friday against the Tigers.

Peters took Jackson Jobe deep in the fourth inning to tie the game at 3-3, his seventh home run of the season. He has had a disastrous start to the second half of the season, as he's hit just .153 with seven RBI and seven runs scored across 25 games. Despite those struggles, Peters remains the White Sox's primary center fielder against righties, but he has been out of the lineup against the last six lefties.

  • White Sox's Braden Montgomery: Legs out two-run triple

Montgomery went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI during the White Sox's 9-5 win over the Tigers on Friday.

Montgomery put the White Sox on the board with an RBI single in the first inning before capping off Chicago's five-run fourth inning with a triple that brought home both Miguel Vargas and Andrew Benintendi. It was the fourth time this season that Montgomery's logged at least three RBI in a game, two of which have come since after the All-Star break. He has a .237/.329/.381 slash line with four homers, one steal, 27 RBI and 29 runs scored across 222 plate appearances this season.

Murakami went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and an additional run scored during the White Sox's 9-5 win over the Tigers on Friday.

Murakami contributed to the White Sox's five-run fourth inning with a solo long ball off Jackson Jobe. It was Murakami's third homer in August and 27th of the year, tied with teammate Miguel Vargas for fourth most in the American League. Murakami also has a .909 OPS, which would be the eighth highest in the majors if he had enough plate appearances to qualify.

  • White Sox's Jake Rogers: Picked up by White Sox

The White Sox claimed Rogers off waivers from the Red Sox on Friday.

Boston designated Rogers for assignment earlier in the week after activating catcher Adley Rutschman from the injured list. Rogers quickly found a new home in Chicago, which will be the fourth stop for the veteran backstop in less than three weeks after he was DFA'd by Detroit at the end of July, then traded to the Orioles before being shipped to the Red Sox on Aug. 3. Rogers will share time behind the plate with Drew Romo while Chicago waits for Kyle Teel (ankle) and Joey Bart (hand) to return from the injured list.

  • White Sox's Jose Urquidy: Moves up from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Urquidy from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Acquired from the Pirates last month, Urquidy will get his first call-up to Chicago after the White Sox placed Davis Martin (finger) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Urquidy had been working as a full-time starter in the minors this season between the White Sox's and Pirates' Triple-A affiliates, pitching to a 3.48 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 79:20 K:BB in 95.2 innings. The 31-year-old righty will likely be called upon to pitch in bulk relief Friday in Detroit once opening pitcher Sean Newcomb exits the game.

  • White Sox's Davis Martin: Sent to IL with blister

The White Sox placed Martin on the 15-day injured list Friday with a blister on his right middle finger.

Martin has been hit hard over his last seven starts and lasted just two innings in Thursday's start against the Reds before he was ejected after hitting Sal Stewart in the head with a pitch. Since July 8, Martin owns an 8.48 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB across 28.2 innings. Opponents are hitting .302 against the right-hander with an .870 OPS during that span.
