Diamondbacks' James McCann: On bench Sunday

McCann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

McCann will head to the bench for the second time in the series while Jose Herrera receives a turn behind the plate. Arizona continues to lean on a three-man committee at catcher that also includes Adrian Del Castillo, who has typically been serving as Arizona's designated hitter but has made three starts as a backstop.

  • Diamondbacks' Adrian Del Castillo: Idle Sunday

Del Castillo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Del Castillo started in seven of the past eight games while going 8-for-29 (.276 average) with two home runs, four doubles, seven RBI and three runs. With Del Castillo on the bench Sunday, Lourdes Gurriel will serve as Arizona's designated hitter, and Jose Herrera will receive a start behind the plate.

  • Owen Caissie RF | MIA

Cubs' Owen Caissie: On bench for third straight game

Caissie is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Since making his major-league debut in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Blue Jays and going 0-for-4 with a strikeout, Caissie has yet to re-enter the Cubs' starting nine. With the Cubs leaning on some combination of Seiya Suzuki, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Ian Happ and Kyle Tucker to cover the three outfield spots and designated hitter more often than not, Caissie looks as though he'll be in store for sporadic playing time.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Activated for Sunday start

The Rockies reinstated Senzatela (finger) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Diamondbacks at Coors Field.

The right-hander landed on the shelf in early August due to a finger blister but is ready to rejoin Colorado after a minimum-length stay on the IL. Senzatela has made 22 appearances (21 starts) this season and has logged a 7.34 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 55:38 K:BB across 103 innings.

  • Jack Suwinski RF | LAD

Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Getting regular run in center field

Suwinski will start in center field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Suwinski has started four of the last five games and appears to be the primary option in center field against right-handed pitching while Oneil Cruz (concussion) is on the 7-day injured list. Since the start of August, Suwinski has produced a .798 OPS over 12 games.

  • Henry Davis C | PIT

Pirates' Henry Davis: Sitting for second straight game

Davis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Davis will take a seat for a second straight game while Joey Bart picks up another start behind the plate. Since the All-Star break, Davis is slashing just .098/.220/.157 with a 30 percent strikeout rate, and his ongoing struggles may be starting to cost him playing time.

  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Receiving breather Sunday

McCutchen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

McCutchen will head to the bench for the second time in four contests as the Pirates wrap up their series in Chicago with a matinee game. Bryan Reynolds will get a day off from playing the outfield and occupy McCutchen's usual spot at designated hitter.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Not in Sunday's lineup

Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Marte will head to the bench Sunday after a run of 12 straight starts, during which he posted a 1.050 OPS with five doubles and two home runs. Connor Kaiser will man the keystone for Arizona in the series finale.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Out for another game

Donovan (foot/groin) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Thomas Saggese will cover second base while Donovan takes a seat for a third straight game due to a sore left foot and groin. Per MLB.com, the Cardinals remain optimistic that Donovan will avoid a stint on the injured list. He'll go through a workout Monday or Tuesday before the club decides on his status.

  • Pedro Pages C | STL

Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Getting rest Sunday

Pages is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Pages will receive a breather after starting behind the plate in each of the last three contests. Yohel Pozo will serve as the Cardinals' starting catcher Sunday.
