  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Taking seat versus lefty

Marsee is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Philadelphia. With ace lefty Cristopher Sanchez toeing the rubber for the Phillies, the lefty-swinging Marsee will receive a day of rest. Esteury Ruiz will cover center field in Marsee's stead.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Goes yard in four-hit effort

Marsee went 4-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Reds. Marsee banged out a season-high four hits Saturday, recording his third career four-hit attack in the process. While the outfielder has been rather disappointing at the dish following a torrid finish to 2025, he's batting .342 with the aforementioned homer, a double, a triple and four walks over 38 at-bats in August. Through 471 plate appearances in 2026, Marsee is slashing a weak .212/.326/.320 with seven long balls, 29 RBI, 19 stolen bases and 60 runs scored.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Ready for action Tuesday

Marsee (back) is starting in center field and batting sixth Tuesday against Atlanta. The 25-year-old was scratched from Sunday's lineup versus the Mets due to back spasms, but he's good to go for Tuesday's series opener following Monday's team off day. Marsee has a .194/.293/.333 slash line with two doubles, a homer, three RBI and six runs in 14 games since the All-Star break.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Pulled from Sunday's lineup

The Marlins scratched Marsee from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets due to back spasms, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Miami will treat the center fielder as day-to-day heading into its three-game series in Atlanta that begins Tuesday. Esteury Ruiz will draw the start Sunday in place of Marsee.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Ends homer drought Thursday

Marsee went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Mets. The center fielder provided the last bit of offense for the Marlins in a 4-2 loss by taking Nolan McLean deep in the seventh inning. It was Marsee's first long ball since July 3, snapping an 18-game drought, and over 74 plate appearances on the month he's compiled a .237/.375/.356 slash line with two homers, one steal, six RBI and 11 runs.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Late addition to lineup

Marsee was added to the Miami lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies and will start in center field and bat ninth, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. With southpaw Jesus Luzardo on the hill for the Phillies, the left-handed-hitting Marsee had been scheduled to receive the afternoon off. However, after third baseman Leo Jimenez was a late scratch due to a stomach ailment, Javier Sanoja will cover the hot corner, while Marsee will be needed to fill the open outfield spot. Marsee will be flanked in the outfield by Heriberto Hernandez in left and Esteury Ruiz in right.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Shielded from southpaw

Marsee is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies. Marsee reached base four times in the first two games of the series, but the left-handed-hitting outfielder will hit the bench Wednesday while southpaw Jesus Luzardo toes the rubber for the Phillies. The Marlins will go with Esteury Ruiz in center field in the series finale.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Productive from bottom of order

Marsee went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Monday's win over the Phillies. The 25-year-old center fielder has found himself batting ninth in his last two starts, and at least on Monday the move sparked a bit of offense from him. Marsee's had a rough season overall, but he's showing signs of life in July, slashing .255/.387/.333 over 18 games with one homer, one steal, five RBI and nine runs.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Marsee is not in the Marlins' starting lineup against the Astros on Wednesday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports. Marsee has gone 1-for-13 with five strikeouts across four games since the All-Star break. He'll exit Wednesday's lineup while Esteury Ruiz starts in center field and bats ninth against Astros right-hander Peter Lambert.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Walks off Seattle

Marsee went 2-for-4 with two RBI during the Marlins' 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners on Tuesday. Marsee extended Miami's lead to 3-0 with an RBI single in the third inning, but he made his biggest contribution in the 10th with a long, towering single that brought Xavier Edwards home for the game-winning run. This marks the fifth time this season that Marsee has logged at least two RBI and he's reached base safely in each of his last five games, going 5-for-15 with one home run, three RBI and four runs scored over that span.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: In Miami lineup Tuesday

Marsee (knee) will start in center field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Mariners. Marsee had to be lifted from Sunday's game against the Athletics with a right knee contusion, but he will not have to miss a start, as Miami's team off day Monday evidently afforded the outfielder enough rest. The 25-year-old is slashing a disappointing .192/.316/.296 this season but does have five home runs and 18 stolen bases.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Swats fifth homer

Marsee went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's win over the A's. The Marlins took advantage of a trip to Sutter Health Park in Sacramento by launching five homers on the night, including Marsee's shot off Jack Perkins in the first inning. Marsee snapped a 12-game power drought with the blast, and since the beginning of June he's managed a meager .170/.291/.277 slash line with two of his five long balls on the season, along with four steals, six RBI and 11 runs in 28 contests.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Ends homer drought Wednesday

Marsee went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's win over the Phillies. The center fielder ended a 28-game homer drought when he took Chase Shugart deep in the ninth inning to cap a 12-4 romp. Marsee's working his way through a rough sophomore slump, but he has hit safely in eight of the last 10 games, although he hasn't had a multi-hit performance since May 29. On the season, the 24-year-old is slashing .202/.326/.308 with four home runs, 17 steals, 18 RBI and 39 runs in 73 contests.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Swipes 15th bag

Marsee went 1-for-1 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Nationals. While he wasn't in the starting lineup against left-hander Andrew Alvarez, Marsee pinch hit for Esteury Ruiz in the sixth inning and took advantage of his opportunities. Marsee struggled to make a consistent impact at the plate to begin the season, but over his last 18 games he's slashing .263/.400/.404 with one home run, three of his career-high 15 steals, three RBI and 13 runs.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Goes deep in win

Marsee went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Nationals. Marsee came up clutch Saturday, breaking a 4-4 tie with a three-run blast off Mitchell Parker in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was a much-needed swing from the 24-year-old, who last homered April 21 and entered the contest just 4-for-25 so far in the month of May. Overall, he's slashing a disappointing .178/.297/.274 with two home runs, 13 RBI and 21 runs scored across 173 plate appearances, but he's still provided some fantasy value with 10 steals on the campaign.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: On base four times in Monday's loss

Marsee went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double and a run scored in Monday's loss to the Dodgers. The center fielder continues to set the table effectively for the Marlins after a slow start to the season. Over the last 14 games, Marsee is slashing .250/.381/.385 with a 10:9 BB:K and a 4-for-4 showing on steal attempts, as well as two doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBI and nine runs.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Pilfers seventh bag

Marsee went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's win over Atlanta. The 24-year-old center fielder has had a tough start to the year at the plate, but Marsee has made an impact when he's been able to get on base. Through 17 games, he's slashing a tepid .152/.260/.227 with a double, two triples, three RBI and 12 runs, and he's gone 7-for-8 on steal attempts -- putting him in a tie for first place in the NL in that category with the Pirates' Oneil Cruz and the Nationals' Nasim Nunez.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Crosses plate twice in Sunday's win

Marsee went 0-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Yankees. The center fielder has had a tough start to the season with his bat, slashing just .118/.225/.206 through nine games with zero homers, one steal and a 5:13 BB:K, but he has managed to score five runs. Plate discipline wasn't a big problem for Marsee in his big-league debut last year, as he produced a 20.5 percent strikeout rate against a 9.4 percent walk rate, but as yet he hasn't found his 2025 form.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Slugs first spring homer

Marsee went 1-for-2 with two walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals on Monday. The 24-year-old center fielder took Michael McGreevy deep to lead off the game, and Marsee didn't see much to hit after that before exiting the game in the sixth inning. After an impressive big-league debut in 2025 that saw him slash .292/.363/.478 with five homers and 14 steals in just 55 games for Miami, Marsee is being counted on to make an impact from the top of the lineup this season.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Swipes bag to kick off spring

Marsee went 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Mets on Saturday. The 24-year-old got the start in center field and hit leadoff, swiping his first bag of the spring after drawing a leadoff walk against Joe Jacques in the sixth inning. Marsee stole 60 bases in 80 attempts between Triple-A and the majors last season, and while that middling success rate may limit the number of green lights he gets once Opening Day rolls around, hitting regularly at the top of the order should still give him plenty of opportunities to take an extra base.
