    Fitzgerald will lose his spot on the active roster Saturday as the Giants activate Matt Chapman (hand) from the 10-day IL. Fitzgerald logged merely two hits with eight strikeouts in 19 at-bats during his 11-day MLB stint.

    The Giants reinstated Chapman (hand) from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

    Chapman will be activated after the minimum 10-day stay on the injured list. The third baseman was dealing with right hand inflammation. Tyler Fitzgerald was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Chapman is playing third base and batting sixth Saturday against the Brewers.

    As expected, Yates rejoins the active roster Saturday after a three-week stint on the injured list with lower-back pain. The 38-year-old has a 4.31 ERA in 31.1 innings this season, and he should work in a set-up role for closer Tanner Scott. The Dodgers placed Blake Snell on the paternity list in a corresponding move.

    The Dodgers placed Snell on the paternity list Saturday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

    Snell was stuck with a loss in Friday's start, and he'll step away from the team temporarily for personal reasons. The move shouldn't impact Snell's next start, as MLB rules dictate he can only be on the paternity list for up to three days. The Dodgers activated Kirby Yates (back) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

    Mullins is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.

    Despite Atlanta sending right-hander Cal Quantrill to the hill, Mullins will get the night off Saturday, yielding his spot in center field to Tyrone Taylor. Mullins had started 14 consecutive games, going 14-for-51 (.275) with four doubles, a triple and a home run during that stretch.

    McNeil was held out of the lineup in back-to-back games due to soreness in his right shoulder. After being available off the bench Friday, he makes his return to the starting nine Saturday. McNeil has nine hits, including three doubles and a homer, in his last 22 at-bats.

    The Mets recalled Brazoban from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

    Brazoban will rejoin the Mets bullpen Saturday, taking Frankie Montas' (elbow) spot as Montas heads to the injured list. Brazoban has a 3.83 ERA and 51:26 K:BB across 51.2 MLB innings this season. He's likely to be used in low-leverage scenarios.

    Mets' Frankie Montas: Back on injured list

    The Mets placed Montas on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Aug. 22, due to a right elbow UCL injury.

    Montas didn't make his 2025 debut until late June after suffering a lat strain in spring training. Two months later, Montas is headed back to the injured list with an unspecified injury to his UCL. The 32-year-old was recently moved to the bullpen and hadn't pitched since Aug. 15. The Mets recalled Huascar Brazoban from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.

    Allen is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

    Allen's streak of 71 consecutive starts will end Saturday, as Vidal Brujan steps in to play shortstop and bat ninth. During that 71-game stretch, Allen slashed .211/.277/.240 with six doubles, 19 runs scored and nine RBI.
