  • Nationals' Brady House: Demoted to minors

House was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Monday. House has flashed plenty of pop early in the 2026 campaign, registering seven home runs over 44 games, including three home runs in May, but the club has elected to send him down. This move is presumably to make room for Dylan Crews, who is expected to be promoted ahead of Tuesday's matchup.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Getting breather Saturday

House isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports. House will take a day to reset Saturday after going 0-for-11 with four strikeouts over his last three games. Jose Tena will start at third base with House out, and Jorbit Vivas will work as the Nats' designated hitter.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Goes yard, plates three runs

House went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double, three total RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Twins. House delivered an RBI double that scored CJ Abrams in the sixth inning and later launched a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh. The third baseman recorded his first multi-hit performance since April 14, but he's been seeing the ball well overall. He has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games, slashing .250/.321/.458 with a .779 OPS, three homers, 11 RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base across that span.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Taking seat Sunday

House is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers. He'll hit the bench for the series finale while the Nationals go with Jorbit Vivas at third base and Jose Tena at designated hitter. House hasn't produced multiple hits in a start since April 14 and is slashing just .175/.242/.281 with two home runs, one steal, eight RBI and six runs over his ensuing 15 games.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Wallops first career grand slam

House went 1-for-5 with a grand slam and a walk in Wednesday's 14-2 win over the Mets. House belted his first career grand slam en route to recording a season-high four RBI on Wednesday. Though he has no multi-hit efforts since April 14, House has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games. Through 111 at-bats overall, the infielder is batting just .225 with four homers, four doubles and 14 RBI.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Out of Thursday's lineup

House is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus Atlanta. House has a modest five-game hitting streak going, but he will get some rest during Thursday's matinee. Jorbit Vivas will occupy third base and bat eighth for the Nationals.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Out of Sunday's lineup

House is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. House went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Saturday's contest and will take a seat Sunday after starting the previous three games. Jorbit Vivas is instead handling the hot corner in the series finale.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Starts season with bang

House went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Cubs. The 22-year-old third baseman also struck out twice, but the contact he did make was extremely hard -- House scorched a single to center field in the fourth inning that left his bat at 106.7 mph, before crushing a first-pitch fastball from Jacob Webb in the ninth that had an exit velocity of 110.8 mph as it soared over the right-field wall. House was batting third for the Nationals on Opening Day against left-hander Matthew Boyd, and while he might slip down the lineup against righties, he'll retain a spot in the heart of the order on an everyday basis if he unlocks his power in 2026.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Batting third against lefty

House will start at third base and bat third in Thursday's opener versus the Cubs. The righty-swinging House will likely hit toward the bottom of the batting order against right-handed pitching, but he'll occupy a prime spot in the lineup versus lefty Matthew Boyd. House stung the ball in spring training, slashing .429/.444/.786 with three home runs, though his usual plate-discipline issues (1:11 BB:K) remained.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Keeps slugging Saturday

House went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets. The 22-year-old third baseman has been swinging a hot bat to begin spring training. Through four games, House has gone 5-for-11 with two doubles and two homers while posting a 0:3 BB:K. Plate discipline remains a concern after he posted an atrocious 8:78 BB:K in 274 plate appearances during his big-league debut last season, helping drag down his .234/.252/.322 slash line, but House has power potential if he can learn to make more consistent contact.

House is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. House will yield to Paul DeJong at third base Friday after making three consecutive starts at the position. House is 9-for-43 (.209) with two home runs in September.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Out of lineup again Monday

House is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest against Atlanta. Paul DeJong started at third base Sunday versus the Pirates and contributed two doubles in three plate appearances, which has earned him another start at the hot corner Monday. House had started five straight and nine of 10 before sitting out back-to-back contests.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Playing time dwindling

House is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Marlins. House had started the previous two contests, but this marks his third absence from the lineup over the last five games and the fourth absence across the last eight games. The 22-year-old is slashing .213/.221/.267 with a 1:27 BB:K since the start of August. Paul DeJong will handle third base and bat eighth.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Taking seat Friday

House is out of the lineup for Friday's game versus Tampa Bay, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports. House started the previous two games but will head to the bench Friday while slumping at the plate, as he has a .194/.203/.239 slash line and 36.2 percent strikeout rate through 20 games in August. Paul DeJong is instead manning the hot corner and batting seventh for Washington.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Idle Wednesday

House is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets. After a string of three straight starts at the hot corner, House will give way to Paul DeJong on Wednesday. Since the beginning of August, House is hitting just .178 with zero home runs, one stolen base, six RBI and three runs in 14 games. Though the Nationals remain committed to giving House an extended look at third base down the stretch, mining fantasy value from the rookie could prove difficult.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Out of Monday's lineup

House is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Kansas City. House was demoted to the No. 8 spot in the batting order for the previous two contests and will be out of the lineup altogether Monday. The rookie infielder is slashing only .213/.219/.246 with a 19:1 K:BB so far in the second half. Paul DeJong will hold down third base for the Nationals on Monday.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Getting rare day off

House is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins. House will hit the bench for the first time in a week and for just the second time in the Nationals' last 12 games. Paul DeJong will fill in at third base in place of House, who has generated a .288/.294/.424 slash line with two home runs, one stolen base, eight RBI and 10 runs in 17 games dating back to the start of July.

  • Nationals' Brady House: Taking seat Sunday

House is not in the Nationals' starting lineup Sunday versus San Diego. House will get at least a partial breather Sunday after starting each of Washington's previous five contests. The young slugger has been hitting well, collecting at least one base knock in eight of his past nine contests and slashing .343/.361/.571 with two homers and five RBI during that span. With House beginning on the bench Sunday, Paul DeJong is getting a start at the hot corner.

  • Nationals' Brady House: On base four times in loss

House went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox. All three knocks were singles, but it was still an impressive performance from the rookie third baseman, who also avoided striking out in the contest, only the second time in his last 11 games he's done so. House is still looking for his first big-league homer as well as some consistency at the plate -- through his first 18 contests and 78 plate appearances for the Nationals, he's slashing .247/.282/.288 with three doubles, two steals, four runs, eight RBI and a 4:20 BB:K.
