  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Steady in no-decision

Gordon allowed one run on eight hits and a walk while striking out one over five innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Friday. Gordon didn't have a great outing, but he was good enough to limit damage. Just two of the Giants' eight hits off him went for extra bases -- a solo home run by Rafael Devers and a double by Drew Gilbert. Gordon had allowed five homers and 10 runs over his last 10 innings coming into Friday. The right-hander is now at a 6.44 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 47:11 K:BB through 50.1 innings across 12 games (five starts) this season.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Serves up four homers

Gordon allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Sunday. Gordon served up four home runs, which accounted for all of the runs on his line. The right-hander has given up 10 runs over 10 innings since returning from a hip inpingement. He's posted an 11:2 K:BB in that span, and both starts have come at Coors Field, which likely explains some of his struggles. Overall, Gordon has a 6.95 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 46:10 K:BB through 45.1 innings over 11 games (four starts). He's tentatively projected to make his next start in a road rematch versus the Giants.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Drawing another start

Gordon is slated to start Sunday's game against the Giants at Coors Field, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports. After being touched up by the Marlins for five runs in five innings during his return from the injured list Tuesday, Gordon carries a 6.69 ERA and 1.59 WHIP over 40.1 innings across 10 appearances (three starts) this season. Despite that rough outing, the right-hander will be awarded a second turn through the rotation, but his grip on a starting role is tenuous. The Rockies called up one of their top pitching prospects, Gabriel Hughes, from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday, and while he's slated to work out of the bullpen initially, he could get a look as the club's No. 5 starter later this summer.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Lit up in return

Gordon (0-2) took the loss against Miami on Tuesday, allowing five runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out four batters over five innings. Gordon was able to return to action and throw 74 pitches after missing nearly a month due to a hip impingement. However, the right-hander found the sledding very tough, as he was tagged for four extra-base hits, the most damaging of which was a three-run homer by Javier Sanoja. The rough outing pushed Gordon's season ERA up to an ugly 6.69 to go along with a 1.59 WHIP over 89.1 innings. He's clearly struggled to get batters out, but the Rockies don't have many other rotation options, especially with Tomoyuki Sugano currently dealing with a finger injury.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Returns from IL

The Rockies reinstated Gordon (hip) from the injured list ahead of his start Tuesday against the Marlins. Gordon has been on the shelf since June 5 due to a hip impingement, but he'll now return to the Rockies' rotation after throwing four shutout innings during his lone rehab outing at Triple-A Albuquerque last Wednesday. He threw just 38 pitches during his minor-league appearance, so he could be subjected to a workload restriction during his first start back in the majors. Sean Sullivan was optioned to Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Set to face hitters

Gordon (hip) will face hitters Saturday and could begin a rehab assignment shortly thereafter, MLB.com reports. Gordon is at Coors Field with the team on its current homestand and will be re-evaluated following his throwing session Saturday. He served as a swingman for the Rockies prior to landing on the injured list.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Placed on IL

The Rockies placed Gordon on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Tuesday, with a right hip impingement. Gordon gave up four earned runs in just three innings during his last start Sunday, and he'll now have to wait until at least mid-June for his next chance to redeem himself. It's unclear who will fill Gordon's place in the rotation, which is scheduled to come up Saturday, but the Rockies will recall Zach Agnos from Triple-A Albuquerque to provide additional bullpen depth during Friday's game against the Brewers.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Making another start

Gordon is slated to start Sunday against the Giants at Coors Field. Gordon will receive another turn through the Colorado rotation after he was able to hold his own in his first start of the season Monday in a road matchup with the Dodgers. He limited one of the majors' top offenses to one run on six hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings, taking a no-decision in the Rockies' eventual 5-3 loss. The 28-year-old righty owns a 6.78 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 142 career innings in the big leagues, so despite getting a favorable matchup versus a weak Giants lineup in his second start, he'll be tough to trust at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Yields seven runs in bulk relief

Gordon pitched 6.1 innings in bulk relief Tuesday, giving up seven runs on 12 hits and one walk while striking out five batters in a no-decision against Texas. Tuesday marked Gordon's second straight extended relief outing, though his previous appearance -- which lasted four frames -- came as the result of an early injury to Chase Dollander (elbow). By contrast, Gordon's outing Tuesday was a planned bulk-relief appearance, and though he gave the Rockies plenty of length, the right-hander was rocked for a season-worst seven runs. Gordon managed to avoid the loss since opener Sammy Peralta was charged with two runs over his two-thirds of an inning of work, but the former was essentially asked to take one for the team in a game that Colorado lost 10-0. It remains to be seen what Gordon's role will be moving forward. The Rockies have an open rotation spot due to Dollander's injury, but it's not a given that Gordon will be asked to take up that role (either as a starter or a bulk reliever) given his ugly 6.59 ERA on the campaign.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Summoned from minors

The Rockies recalled Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Gordon had been optioned Tuesday to make room for Jimmy Herget's (shoulder) return from the bereavement list, but he's now back as Herget goes on the injured list. Though he boasts a 20:4 K:BB over 17 innings, Gordon holds a 6.35 ERA in large part due to serving up five long balls. He'll be available in long relief.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Returns to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Gordon to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. The right-hander has been up in the majors for the past month, but he'll return to Triple-A after giving up 12 earned runs with a 20:4 K:BB across 17 big-league innings. Gordon could return to the rotation at Albuquerque, where he had a 2.76 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in three starts to begin the season.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Cut from big-league camp

The Rockies optioned Gordon to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. Gordon had a 6.33 ERA in 15 starts for the Rockies last season and delivered a 1.64 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB over 11 innings during spring training, but the big club will go in a different direction for their season-opening rotation. The right-hander is now poised to begin the campaign with Albuquerque, where he had a 5.25 ERA across 58.1 innings last year. He should receive another look with the Rockies at some point in 2026, however.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Posts another quality start

Gordon didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Cubs, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk across six innings. He struck out nine. Gordon started August with a pair of ugly outings, allowing 17 runs and 23 hits in 7.1 innings. He's rebounded with four straight starts yielding three or fewer runs, including three consecutive quality starts. During that four-game stretch, Gordon has a 2.74 ERA and a 19:6 K:BB across 23 innings. His nine Ks marked a career high. Gordon is tentatively scheduled to face the Padres in his next start.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Stellar in fifth win

Gordon (5-5) earned the win Tuesday, allowing a run on six hits and three walks over six innings in a 6-1 win over the Astros. He struck out five. The right-hander turned in a steady outing Tuesday, giving up just a run on a solo homer to Jesus Sanchez in the second inning. Gordon has now delivered back-to-back starts of six innings with only one earned run allowed in each, a stark turnaround from the 7.98 ERA and 1.80 WHIP he posted over his first eight starts of the season.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Shines in win against Dodgers

Gordon (4-5) tossed six innings against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters to earn the victory. Gordon kept Los Angeles off the scoreboard until Teoscar Hernandez tagged him for a solo homer in the sixth inning. Overall, Gordon threw 60 of 92 pitches for strikes and got a first-pitch strike on 17 of the 24 batters he faced. This was quite a turnaround for the right-hander, especially considering the competition -- over his previous four starts, he had registered a horrid 15.26 ERA across 15.1 innings. Gordon seems like a good bet to make his next turn in the rotation after the strong outing and with Austin Gomber placed on outright waivers Wednesday. If that's the case, Gordon's next start is lined up to come in Houston next week.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Rocked by Blue Jays

Gordon (2-4) allowed seven runs on 11 hits and no walks while striking out one batter over 2.2 innings to take the loss against Toronto on Monday. Gordon struggled from the outset, giving up a run on three hits in the first inning. That frame was just the beginning of a rough outing for the right-hander; he gave up another run in the second and then had the bottom fall out in the third, when Toronto tagged him for six hits (three of which went for extra bases) while putting five more runs on his ledger. Gordon unsurprisingly didn't survive that inning, as he was pulled with two outs after 67 pitches. Gordon posted a respectable 3.13 ERA through his first four MLB appearances this season, but that number has ballooned to 6.59 following back-to back ugly starts during which he's surrendered a combined 14 runs (13 earned) across just 5.2 frames.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Hit hard in loss

Gordon (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out two in three innings. Gordon was hit around in this one and had a disappointing outing after he was impressive in a scoreless showing against the Cardinals last week. Gordon allowed three runs through two innings and coughed up another four runs in the third, including a Kyle Manzardo two-run homer and Brayan Rocchio two-run triple. Despite the rough showing, Gordon figures to stick around in the rotation for the short term while German Marquez (biceps) is recovering. Gordon lines up to start at home versus the Blue Jays to begin next week.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Blanks Cards in return

Gordon (2-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Cardinals, allowing four hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out three. Gordon was excellent in his first major-league start since May 28, scattering six hits to earn his second win in a 6-0 shutout. The 27-year-old Gordon has pitched to a 3.13 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB across his first four starts (23 innings) this season. The right-hander figures to remain in Colorado's rotation moving forward after German Marquez (biceps) landed on the IL. Gordon is currently lined up to face the Guardians on the road in his next outing.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Activated, optioned to Triple-A

The Rockies activated Gordon (oblique) from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports. Gordon is over his oblique strain, but the Rockies have elected to keep him at Albuquerque where he had been on his rehab assignment rather than adding him back to the major-league roster. The righty will be part of Albuquerque's rotation.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Set for rehab assignment

Gordon (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque, MLB.com reports. Gordon will make a pair of rehab starts, with the first coming Tuesday and second Sunday. There's no official word if he'll be activated immediately after the latter outing, or if he'll have a spot in the big-league rotation upon his return.
