Gibson struck out five and allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks over five innings Sunday in his start with High-A Aberdeen.

Due to his late signing with the Orioles, Gibson didn't appear in any Grapefruit League games and was optioned to the minors to start the season so that he could continue building up. He's now made three starts between stops with Triple-A Norfolk and Aberdeen, accruing a 3.75 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB in 12 innings. After tossing 78 pitches (51 strikes) in his latest start with Aberdeen, Gibson may need just one more start in the minors before the Orioles deem him ready to join the big-league rotation.

Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to Cleveland.

Chisholm struck out twice in his first three plate appearances, but he ended his day with a two-run homer to right field. The veteran second baseman has a poor .161/.255/.425 slash line on the season, but he's tied for fifth in the majors with seven home runs. Chisholm has also stolen five bases, so he's provided useful fantasy production despite the low batting average.

High-A Aberdeen placed De Leon on the 7-day injured list April 4 with an undisclosed injury.

De Leon, a 6-foot-3 southpaw who turned 22 earlier in April, logged a 5.73 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 65:42 K:BB in 59.2 innings at High-A last season.

The Orioles recalled Young from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

The Orioles have an opening in their rotation this weekend in Detroit that could be filled by Young, if the club wants to give Kyle Gibson more time in the minors to get stretched out before making his 2025 debut. The right-handed Young yielded three runs over four innings against the Reds this past weekend in his major-league debut.

The Orioles placed Poteet on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation.

Poteet was rocked for five runs while throwing 68 pitches over 2.2 innings in Sunday's blowout loss to the Reds and apparently came out of the appearance with a shoulder problem. It's not clear how long he might be sidelined.

White Sox manager Will Venable said that Wilson is in line to fill a bulk-relief role in Wednesday's game in Minnesota, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Wilson has worked exclusively out of the bullpen so far in 2025, but he's made 52 career starts in the majors, including nine last season with Milwaukee. The right-hander isn't stretched out enough to handle a traditional starting role, but he should be able to offer the White Sox a decent amount of length out of the bullpen after having previously covered three innings and 64 pitches in an April 4 relief appearance in Detroit. If Wilson excels in his appearance Wednesday, he could be in line for a more permanent spot in the White Sox rotation with Martin Perez (elbow) recently landing on the 60-day injured list.

Sewald allowed two runs on two hits while striking out one over 1.1 innings in Monday's 6-4 win over the Yankees.

Sewald got the last two outs of the seventh inning before getting stung by a Jazz Chisholm two-run blast in the eighth. He's allowed three home runs and has a 6.10 ERA over 10.1 innings (12 outings). Sewald, who has experience as a closer, could nevertheless garner save opportunities at some point if the issues Emmanuel Clase (two blown saves, 7.84 ERA, 2.23 WHIP) has exhibited thus far prompts manager Stephen Vogt to try someone else in the role, at least temporarily.

Cantillo walked one and struck out one over a scoreless one-third of an inning in Monday's 6-4 win over the Yankees.

A day after recording his first MLB save, Cantillo was credited with his first hold when he finished out the eighth inning. The 25-year-old lefty began the season as a multi-inning reliever but has not worked more than one inning over the last four appearances. Cantillo has allowed just two earned runs while striking out 15 over 11.2 innings.

Martinez went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 6-4 win over the Yankees.

Martinez doubled and scored what turned out to be the winning run in the fourth inning. He started a third consecutive game in center field, as Martinez appears to have overtaken Lane Thomas (.366 OPS) as the primary starter. It makes sense, because Martinez is batting .364 (12-for-33) with an .868 OPS over nine games since his call-up from Triple-A.

Refsnyder started in place of a slumping Ceddanne Rafaela and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-2 win over the White Sox.

Refsnyder, a lineup staple when the Red Sox face a left-hander, got a rare start against a righty and delivered his first home run of the season in his first at-bat. Boston hasn't seen too many southpaws thus far, and Refsnyder entered Monday's game with just 21 plate appearances. Rafaela's bat showed life in the first two games of the series, but overall, it's done little to help his season-long numbers, as he carries a .582 OPS with just three extra-base hits in 74 plate appearances. Notably, Refsnyder has the same number of XBH over 25 plate appearances.
