Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Rehab assignment begins Tuesday
Crawford (knee) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Crawford began a running program this week and will play five innings in Sacramento on Tuesday. He'll likely be able to ramp up his workload Wednesday and will be in the mix to rejoin the Giants as early as Thursday against the Dodgers. The team has a scheduled day off Friday, so manager Gabe Kapler said that the club could wait to activate Crawford until Saturday. Dixon Machado and Jason Vosler will serve as the Giants' top two options at shortstop while Crawford remains sidelined.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Homers in return to majors
DeJong went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a sacrifice fly in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Nationals.
Following the Cardinals' trade of Edmundo Sosa to the Phillies on Saturday, DeJong was called up and immediately inserted into the lineup. DeJong went yard in the fifth inning and added a sac fly in the eighth, though his three RBI weren't enough to push St. Louis to victory. The shortstop spent over two months in the minors, where he displayed solid power with 17 long balls and an .865 OPS despite batting .249 across 51 games with Triple-A Memphis. The righty-hitting 28-year-old started versus a right-handed pitcher (Paolo Espino), so there could be a chance for him to grab a starting role in the final two months of the season. Tommy Edman has been playing shortstop often lately, though he could move back to second base and push Nolan Gorman to the designated hitter spot if DeJong commands more playing time.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Out of Sunday's lineup
Edman is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Edman is 1-for-12 with a stolen base and a run over the past three games and will receive a day off in the series finale at Washington. Paul DeJong will start at shortstop and bat seventh.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Starting again Sunday
Arcia is starting at second base and batting eighth Sunday versus Arizona.
It's the third consecutive start for Arcia, and the second straight to come against a right-handed pitcher with Merrill Kelly on the mound Sunday for Arizona. Robinson Cano has the platoon advantage but has a .377 OPS through nine games with Atlanta, so it appears Arcia is back as the primary option at the keystone.

Diego Castillo 3B | MIN
Pirates' Diego Castillo: Sent to minors
Castillo was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.
Castillo has been up in the majors all season but has seen limited playing time of late, and he'll head to the minors while in the midst of a 2-for-19 slump. Overall the 24-year-old has a .201/.245/.368 slash line with 10 home runs and 25 RBI in 84 games this year. Bryan Reynolds was reinstated from the paternity list in a corresponding move.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Racks up three hits in win
Lindor went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Saturday's 4-0 win against the Marlins.
Lindor singled home a run in the third inning and slammed a 424-foot solo homer in the eighth. He finished with his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign and notched his first long ball of the second half. Lindor has hit safely in 17 of his past 18 contests and is slashing .329/.395/.575 with four homers, 12 RBI and a stolen base over that span.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Dodgers' Trea Turner: Extends streak with homer
Turner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Rockies.
Turner stretched his hitting streak to 17 games with a third-inning solo shot. In that span, he's gone 26-for-73 (.356) as he continues to be one of the most consistent hitters in the league. The superstar shortstop is slashing .310/.353/.505 with 16 long balls, 73 RBI, 61 runs scored and 18 stolen bases through 100 contests in his first full year with the Dodgers.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Padres' CJ Abrams: Back in action Saturday
Abrams (biceps) is starting at second base and hitting ninth Saturday against the Twins.
Ha-Seong Kim will start at shortstop while Jake Cronenworth gets the day off. Abrams, who officially exhausted his prospect status due to days on the active roster, is hitting .300/.313/.433 with one home run, zero steals, five strikeouts and zero walks in 30 at-bats this month. He's expected to serve as a super-utility option for the Padres moving forward, with the role likely to translate to a handful of starts per week.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Recalled by Cardinals
DeJong was recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Saturday.
DeJong has been in the minors since May 10, and he slashed .249/.313/.552 with 17 home runs, 54 RBI, 36 runs and a stolen base over 51 games in Memphis. The 28-year-old will rejoin the active roster after Edmundo Sosa was traded to the Phillies on Saturday.
