  • Eddys Leonard SS | MIL

Tigers' Eddys Leonard: Back in action for Toledo

Leonard (oblique) was reinstated from Triple-A Toledo's 7-day injured list June 4 and has gone 3-for-18 with a double, two walks, an RBI and a run scored in five games since rejoining the club.

Leonard had resided on the shelf at Toledo since early April with a left oblique strain. Before being activated, Leonard made eight rehab appearances with Single-A Lakeland and went 5-for-22 with a double and two stolen bases.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Records five hits

Correa went 5-for-6 with three runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's 17-9 win over the Rockies.

Correa's first career five-hit game is the highlight of what's been a stellar run at the plate -- he's now 15-for-29 (.517) with a double and a home run over his last seven contests. The 29-year-old Correa is now slashing .290/.356/.459 with five homers, 28 RBI and 28 runs scored across 208 plate appearances this season.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Back in lineup

Seager (hamstring) will serve as Texas' designated hitter and bat second Wednesday versus the Dodgers.

Seager hasn't played since he left last Wednesday's game against the Tigers due to a sore left hamstring, but he has now been given the green light to return to the lineup in a non-defensive role. The 30-year-old shortstop has tallied at least one base hit in 17 of his last 18 games and is slashing .354/.462/.800 with nine home runs and 15 RBI in that span.

  • Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS

Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Rehab assignment starting Thursday

Gonzalez (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

The date of Gonzalez's first rehab game ended up being pushed back a couple days, but he's ready for game action now. Gonzalez has been out since early June with a left hamstring strain and should only need a few games in the minors before being cleared to return from the 10-day injured list.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

White Sox's Paul DeJong: Clubs homer Tuesday

DeJong went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.

DeJong is up to 13 homers on the year, six of which he's hit over his last 11 contests. He went back-to-back with Andrew Vaughn in the third inning of Tuesday's contest, though that's where the White Sox's scoring ended. DeJong is up to a .240/.290/.490 slash line with 28 RBI, 28 runs scored, two stolen bases and 11 doubles over 62 contests while seeing a starting role at shortstop.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Still not starting Tuesday

Seager (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Despite a team day off Monday, Seager's absence will extend to four games as he continues to nurse the hamstring strain he suffered Wednesday versus Detroit. Ezequiel Duran will take over at shortstop and bat seventh Tuesday.

  • Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS

Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Rehab stint pushed back

Gonzalez (hamstring) won't start his rehab assignment Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Gonzalez was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Worcester, but he's still in Boston as the Red Sox start a three-game homestand against the Phillies on Tuesday night. At this point, it's unclear when Gonzalez will head to Worcester, but he'll likely require a brief minor-league stint as part of his rehab from a strained left hamstring.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Placed on IL with back injury

The Tigers placed Baez on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with lumbar spine inflammation, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Baez has evidently been bothered by the back issue off and on all season and is headed to Florida to meet with a doctor. He's expected to be out more than the minimum 10 days, though a clearer picture regarding his timetable could be available after the exam. Zach McKinstry and Ryan Kreidler are expected to share duties at shortstop while Baez is on the shelf.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Getting breather Tuesday

Henderson is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Henderson will get his first day off of the season after appearing in each of the Orioles' first 65 games of 2024. The breather comes on the 12th day of a streak of 17 straight games. Jorge Mateo (concussion) was activated from the 7-day IL and will start at shortstop and bat sixth.

  • Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH

Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Sheds walking boot

Hernaiz (ankle) is out of his walking boot and will begin a strength and fitness program this week, MLB.com reports.

The 22-year-old has been making very slow progress from his severe ankle sprain, but it appears his recovery is starting to gather some momentum just over a month after he initially suffered the injury. Hernaiz's next step after the strength and fitness program will be to resume baseball activities, with the start date for that benchmark still to be determined.
