  • Brewers' David Hamilton: Grabbing seat Wednesday

Hamilton is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mariners. Hamilton typically starts against most righties, but with Cooper Pratt back from the injured list to take over at shortstop, Hamilton and Joey Ortiz will be mixed and matched at third base. It's Ortiz at the hot corner for the Brewers on Wednesday.

  • Brewers' David Hamilton: Blasts fourth homer

Hamilton went 3-for-5 with a home run, two steals, four RBI and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 22-0 blowout win over the Mariners. Hamilton added to Milwaukee's already commanding lead with a three-run homer in the sixth inning. He would drive in another run with an RBI single one frame later, giving him a career-high four RBI. The long ball snapped a 42-game homer drought and was his fourth of the season. Through 95 games this season, Hamilton is slashing .239/.319/.333 with nine doubles, two triples, 21 RBI, 40 runs scored and 24 stolen bases.

  • Brewers' David Hamilton: Held out against lefty

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. The left-handed-hitting Hamilton will be on the bench for a second straight day to close out the series in Los Angeles while the Dodgers send another lefty (Tarik Skubal) to the bump. With Hamilton and Brice Turang (knee) both sitting, the Brewers will open up starts at third base for Andrew Vaughn and second base for Jonathan Ornelas.

  • Brewers' David Hamilton: Taking seat against southpaw

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies. After making his return from the injured list Friday, the left-handed hitter went 1-for-7 with a stolen base over two games against right-handed starters. Hamilton will head to the bench Sunday while southpaw Kyle Freeland toes the rubber for Colorado. Hamilton could be in store for a part-time role versus righties, however, as Joey Ortiz has made a case for more opportunities at the hot corner. Since the start of July, Ortiz has produced a .921 OPS over 20 games.

  • Brewers' David Hamilton: Back from IL

The Brewers reinstated Hamilton (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports. Before being placed on the injured list July 7, the 28-year-old had slashed .240/.317/.333 with three homers and 15 RBI in 237 plate appearances. Milwaukee designated Braden Shewmake for assignment to make room for Hamilton on the active roster.

  • Brewers' David Hamilton: Sent out on rehab assignment

Hamilton (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hamilton has missed the last two weeks of action with a left hamstring strain but has been cleared to test things out in games. If all goes well, the speedy infielder could return from the injured list Friday. Joey Ortiz has posted a 1.013 OPS with three home runs in 11 games since Hamilton was hurt, so Hamilton could operate in more of a reserve role when he returns if the Brewers want to play the hot hand at third base.

  • Brewers' David Hamilton: Exits with hamstring tightness

Hamilton was removed from Monday's game against the Cardinals due to left hamstring tightness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hamilton drove a ball to the gap in the top of the seventh inning to plate a pair of runs, but he appeared to be in discomfort after putting on the brakes after rounding second base and scurrying back to the bag. He's presumably headed for further evaluation and can be considered day-to-day until the club has more information to share on the severity of his injury. Joey Ortiz would be in line for more work at the hot corner if Hamilton is forced to miss additional game action.

Hamilton had started in Milwaukee's last seven games, going 3-for-20 at the dish over that stretch to bring his batting average down to .230 for the season.

The infielder is now batting .243 with a .667 OPS, three homers, 11 RBI, 28 runs scored, 14 stolen bases, three doubles and a triple over 178 plate appearances. Hamilton continues to handle a strong-side platoon role on the left side of the Brewers' infield.

Hamilton went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Astros. Hamilton took Kai-Wei Teng deep for his first homer of the season in the top of the third inning. Seeing regular playing time at shortstop and third base for Milwaukee, Hamilton's long ball snapped an 0-for-12 skid. He's slashing a paltry .226/.314/.282 with four extra-base hits, including the one homer, nine RBI, 22 runs scored, 10 stolen bases and a 15:29 BB:K across 147 plate appearances this season.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Strikes out seven over six innings

Perez (2-1) earned the win Sunday against the Brewers, allowing one unearned run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings. Perez turned in a strong performance, cruising through five scoreless innings, including striking out the side in the second, before running into minor trouble in the sixth. After issuing a leadoff walk to David Hamilton, a throwing error by catcher Liam Hicks allowed the latter to reach third, and he later scored on a groundout. The outing was a much-needed correction after Perez allowed 15 runs over his first 20 innings of the season. The right-hander now owns a 4.15 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 27:12 K:BB across 26 innings, and he will look to build on this performance in his next scheduled start against a Giants lineup that has struggled offensively this year.

Hamilton is starting at third base and batting seventh Opening Day against the White Sox on Thursday. • Red Sox's David Hamilton: Smacks rare homer

Hamilton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Athletics. The homer was Hamilton's fifth of the season and his first in the month of September. The lefty-hitting infielder has struggled mightily at the plate in 2025, and he has been unable to take on a strong-side platoon role over the righty-hitting Romy Gonzalez at second base. Hamilton will likely continue to be used primarily as a pinch runner and defensive replacement, batting .201 with four doubles, 17 RBI and 21 stolen bases over 87 games.

  • Red Sox's David Hamilton: Reaches 20-steal mark

Hamilton went 1-for-3 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Diamondbacks. Hamilton's playing time has dropped significantly over the last week -- this was his first start since Aug. 30. Romy Gonzalez and Nick Sogard have combined to handle second base, leaving Hamilton as a bench bat and defensive replacement in most games. He's still logged two steals over five games in September and is up to 20 thefts on 25 attempts this season. The infielder has added a .203/.259/.316 slash line, four home runs, 16 RBI, 25 runs scored, four doubles and one triple over 173 plate appearances.

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates. He'll be on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed starter (Mitch Keller), clearing the way for Romy Gonzalez to shift from first base to the keystone in Nathaniel Lowe's return from the paternity list.

  • Red Sox's David Hamilton: Sitting out series finale

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports. Hamilton had started in each of the Red Sox's last three games and went 4-for-10 with a home run, a double and three RBI, but the left-handed-hitting infielder will hit the bench Thursday while southpaw Cade Povich takes the hill for Baltimore. Ceddanne Rafaela will get the nod at second base in the series finale, but Hamilton could continue to see the bulk of the starts at the keystone against right-handed pitching until Wilyer Abreu's (calf) eventual return from the injured list pushes Rafaela to the infield on a more frequent basis.

  • Red Sox's David Hamilton: Enjoying good run

Hamilton went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Orioles. Hamilton's having a productive run since his recall from Triple-A Worcester last week. He's gone 6-for-15 with three extra-base hits, two walks, one steal, three RBI and five runs scored over four games. Hamilton started four of the last six games at second base, all against right-handed pitching. He should maintain a semi-regular role while Wilyer Abreu (calf) remains sidelined. Abreu's injury has resulted in Ceddanne Rafaela getting more time in the outfield than at second base.
