The Diamondbacks recalled Cecconi from Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Cecconi looks poised to work in long relief in his return to the 28-man roster. The 24-year-old has registered a 4.44 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB across his first 24.1 major-league innings (four starts, two relief appearances) this season.

Fried was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with a blister on his left index finger.

The lefty developed the blister during Thursday's win over the Nationals. While Atlanta is expected to get the left-hander back for the postseason, Fried will not make another regular-season start. He finishes with an 8-1 record, 2.55 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 80:18 K:BB over 77.2 innings covering 14 starts.

Harrison allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two batters over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Harrison pitched fairly well in the contest, but the Giants didn't give him much run support. This was the rookie's first start since he was sent to the minors Sept. 15 -- he quickly returned to the big club as a result of Alex Cobb's season-ending hip injury. Harrison appears set to close out the campaign in San Francisco's rotation, though that may not lead to more than one additional start. He's posted a 4.85 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 31:9 K:BB over 29.2 frames through six big-league starts thus far.

Sheehan allowed one run on zero hits and four walks while striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against San Francisco on Thursday.

Sheehan came out of the bullpen in his previous outing but was back in a starting role Thursday. He put up quite a unique stat line, no-hitting the Giants for 4.2 frames but racking up 93 pitches as a result of four walks and nine strikeouts. The rookie came close to qualifying for the victory but couldn't harness his control with two outs in the fourth inning, allowing four straight batters to reach base (with one crossing the plate) on a hit-by-pitch and three straight walks. Sheehan has flashed big strikeout upside with 14 punchouts over 7.2 innings during his past two appearances, and he could be a weapon for Los Angeles in the postseason, though it's uncertain how the team will use him once the playoffs begin.

Oviedo (9-14) earned the win over the Cubs on Thursday, yielding four hits and five walks while striking out five batters six scoreless innings.

Oviedo again struggled with his control, tossing just 50 of 93 pitches for strikes and issuing five walks for the second straight start. However, the Cubs couldn't take advantage of the free passes, as they failed to push a run across the plate. While Oviedo has handed out 10 walks over his past two outings, he's allowed just one run over 11 frames during that span while striking out 12 batters. It's unlikely that the right-hander will be able to see sustained success with such poor control, but he's managed a 2.30 ERA over his past five starts despite a 1.54 WHIP and 23:19 K:BB.

Peterson did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks over four innings against the Phillies. He struck out seven.

Peterson continues to rack up impressive strikeout totals, logging 37 in his last five starts (26.2 innings). However, he'd wind up with a no-decision Thursday, allowing a pair of runs in the first inning and another two in the third, as the left-hander remains winless since July 27. Overall, Peterson is 3-8 with a 5.37 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 120:46 K:BB across 104 innings this season. He'll likely make one more start this season, currently scheduled for next week against Miami.

Suarez (4-6) earned the win Thursday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks over 6.2 innings against the Mets. He struck out six.

While Suarez allowed more than three runs for the first time in seven starts, he'd pick up his fourth win in the Phillies' 5-4 victory. The 28-year-old Suarez came into the day with a 2.86 ERA in his previous six outings. Overall, his ERA sits at 3.89 with a 1.38 WHIP and 115 strikeouts through 21 starts (120.1 innings) this season. Suarez will likely get one more regular-season start, currently scheduled for next week against the Pirates.

Irvin (3-7) took the loss Thursday against Atlanta, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out one.

After tossing a solid 23 innings across four August starts to the tune of a 2.35 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB, Irvin has had a rough time in September. Over four outings this month, he's produced a 6.38 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 15:13 K:BB over 18.1 innings. Irvin tentatively lines up for a rematch with Atlanta for his final start of the season next weekend.

Fried developed a blister on his left index finger during his start Thursday against the Nationals, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Fried shut down the Nationals to earn the win, allowing one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven across six innings. Adding to the good news is the fact that he's expected to pitch through the blister and not miss his final start of the regular season.

Hendricks (6-8) allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Pirates. He walked two and struck out five.

Hendricks pitched well enough, but the Cubs didn't score until the seventh inning and the veteran righty ended up with the loss. This was his first time covering at least six innings this month, and he lowered his season ERA to a solid 3.66. Hendricks has been his typical pitch-to-contact self this year with only 91 strikeouts across 132.2 innings, though he's still managed to be effective. He's in line to start next against Atlanta on the road, which figures to be a challenging matchup and could be his last outing of the regular season.
