Smith (0-2) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Marlins after allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and two walks across three innings. He fanned one.

Smith allowed four runs (three earned) and didn't even finish the second inning in his season debut against the Brewers on Thursday, and while he at least completed three frames this time around, the results were even worse. The White Sox don't have a lot of depth in their rotation, so Smith isn't at risk of losing his spot any time soon; however, the results have been pretty disappointing. Through two starts, he has allowed 12 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits and four walks while fanning three across 4.2 innings, which translates to a bloated 19.29 ERA.

Herget earned the save Wednesday against the Rockies after pitching a scoreless 10th inning.

Herget stepped up to the mound with the Rockies holding a 2-1 lead and got the job done, needing 16 pitches (12 strikes) to retire George Springer, Nathan Lukes and Vladimir Guerrero. It's the first save since 2022 for Herget, who isn't expected to see regular save chances this year. The right-hander has yet to allow a run in three outings this season, giving up two hits with no walks and fanning three across three innings.

Bernardino (1-0) earned the win in relief after tossing a scoreless inning against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Bernardino entered the game in the ninth inning and tossed a scoreless frame, needing only 11 pitches (eight strikes) to get the job done. Bernardino has enjoyed a solid start to the season, firing three scoreless innings across four appearances while allowing two hits and posting a 1:0 K:BB in that span.

Little (0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief Wednesday against the Rockies. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and one walk while striking out one across one inning.

Little allowed the game-deciding run in the 10th frame via an RBI single from Tyler Freeman into center field. It's been a rocky start to the season for Little, who has given up eight runs (seven earned) with a 4:3 K:BB across 2.1 innings in three appearances.

Erceg retired both batters he faced to earn the save in Wednesday's 13-9 win over the Twins.

Bailey Falter took the mound for the ninth inning when the Royals were ahead by seven runs, but he made a mess of the low-leverage spot. Erceg came in with two on and one out and worked out of trouble for his second save of the season. The right-hander is a must-have in fantasy after Carlos Estevez (foot) landed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday. Working primarily as a setup man in 2025, Erceg pitched to a 2.64 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 48:18 K:BB while adding two saves and 23 holds over 61.1 innings. He's shown better strikeout stuff than that in previous years, and if he pitches well in Estevez's absence, Erceg could keep the closer role for most of the season. He already has two saves and a hold over three appearances this year.

Jax (0-2) took the loss Wednesday versus the Brewers, giving up five runs (three earned) on three hits and one walk. He failed to record an out.

The right-hander was summoned in the eighth inning of a 2-2 tie Wednesday, but he was unable to keep it knotted up. A fielding error by Junior Caminero prevented two of Jax's runs from being earned, but the hurler's struggles to begin the season continue to be concerning. Jax has now yielded five earned runs over two innings (four appearances), failing to convert each of his two save chances, and it wouldn't be surprising if Garrett Cleavinger or Bryan Baker received Tampa Bay's next save opportunity while Jax searches for his form.

The Dodgers claimed Holman off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Holman camped with the Diamondbacks in spring training after being designated for assignment by the Athletics in early February, but he was subsequently DFA'd by Arizona after failing to make the team's Opening Day roster. He was reassigned to the minors by the Dodgers after being claimed off waivers and will likely report to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Holman appeared in 22 regular-season games (two starts) for the Athletics in 2025, finishing with a 5.09 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, three holds and a 17:9 K:BB across 23 innings.

Bednar earned the save Wednesday against the Mariners, allowing one run on three hits and no walks in 1.1 innings. He struck out one.

The right-hander surrendered his first run of the season, but he survived Seattle's comeback attempt for his third save of the campaign. Bednar fired 40 pitches Wednesday and recorded more than three outs for the first time this year, but he might have a chance to be available for Friday's series opener versus Miami following Thursday's day off. He's 3-for-3 on save opportunities thus far in 2026.

Loaisiga allowed two hits and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning while picking up the save Wednesday against the Tigers.

Closer Paul Sewald worked each of the last two days and three of the past four for the Diamondbacks, so he was perhaps unavailable for Wednesday's save chance. Loaisiga stepped up for his first save opportunity of the season, netting just his ninth career save, and the hard-throwing right-hander is at least in the mix for high-leverage work with 3.1 scoreless innings and a hold under his belt so far.

Pivetta (1-1) allowed one hit and two walks while striking out eight over five scoreless innings to earn the win over the Giants on Wednesday.

Pivetta's first start of the season was rough with six runs allowed, but he bounced back Wednesday in his second outing. In the 2025 regular season, he had eight outings with at least eight strikeouts, and he won six of those games with no-decisions in the other two. The right-hander now has a 6.75 ERA and a 12:5 K:BB across eight innings over his two starts this season. He is tentatively lined up to make his first road start of the year in Pittsburgh next week, which could be his first outing of a two-start week.
