  • Padres' Manny Machado: Blasts solo home run

Machado went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a 8-5 loss to the Orioles on Tuesday.

Machado increased the San Diego lead to 2-0 with a first-inning shot off Tom Eshelman. It was the 27-year-old's sixth homer in his last 17 games since the All-Star break, and he is 23-for-69 over that stretch. Machado has connected for 26 homers and 67 RBI in 400 at-bats this season, and now holds a .278/.348/.515 slash line.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Riding pine Tuesday

Muncy isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Colorado.

Muncy will head to the bench with a lefty in Kyle Freeland slated to toe the rubber for the opposition. Kris Negron is starting at the keystone and batting seventh with Muncy out of the mix.

  • Mitch Walding 3B | PHI

Phillies' Mitch Walding: Removed from 40-man roster

Walding was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Tuesday, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Walding was booted from the 40-man to make room for Blake Parker, who will be available to pitch for Philadelphia on Tuesday. Walding made a brief appearance in the majors this season, though he struck out in both of his at-bats.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Cleared to play

Segura (lower leg) is starting at shortstop and batting second Tuesday against the Giants.

Segura suffered a bruised right shin during Sunday's matchup, but he benefitted from a scheduled off day Monday and will be right back in the mix for the series opener. He's slashing .281/.323/.444 with 11 homers and 44 RBI over 93 games this season with Philadelphia.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Scores twice in victory

Arenado went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI in Monday's 9-1 win over the Dodgers.

Arenado plated two of the Rockies' five fifth-inning runs, with that outburst effectively salting the game away for the home squad. As has been the case throughout his career, Arenado has taken full advantage of playing half of his games at high altitude this season, submitting a .354/.412/.594 slash line across his 216 plate appearances in Colorado.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Remains in lineup

Suarez (back) will bat third and play third base Tuesday against the Pirates.

Suarez left Monday's game with back tightness, but the issue evidently wasn't a particularly serious one. He won't wind up missing a single start and will look to build on his .305/.377/.763 slash line through the first 17 games of the second half.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Tallies three hits

Machado went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs Monday in the Padres' 8-1 win over the Orioles.

After flying out to right field in his first at-bat, Machado tormented his former team for the rest of the night en route to delivering his third three-hit performance of July. The 27-year-old's slow start to his tenure with the Padres looks to be a distant memory at this point, as he's slashing a magnificent .291/.356/.561 with 21 home runs, 54 RBI and 47 runs in 74 games since the beginning of May. With only three stolen bases in four attempts, however, Machado has toned down his involvement in the run game after nabbing 14 steals between his time with the Orioles and Dodgers in 2018.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Crushes grand slam

Rendon went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Monday's 6-3 win over Atanta.

His sixth-inning blast off Chad Sobotka broke open a 2-2 contest. Rendon is now slashing a blistering .379/.481/.636 through 17 games since the All-Star break with three homers and 18 RBI, and he's already reached 80 RBI for the fourth straight season.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Slugs 15th homer

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Monday's 11-6 win over the Diamondbacks.

He's now gone yard in two straight games, extending his modest hitting streak to six games and giving him 15 homers on the year. Anderson's only slashing .231/.265/.508 in 16 games since the All-Star break, but he still has time to turn around what has been a fairly underwhelming sophomore campaign to date.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Removed with back tightness

Suarez left Monday's game against the Pirates due to back tightness, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

This was a precautionary move by the Reds, who wanted to make sure that Suarez was ready to go for Tuesday's clash. He'll be considered day-to-day for the time being.
