  • Addison Barger SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Out of lineup again Monday

Barger is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.

Barger is not dealing with any known injury, so his absence from the lineup for a second straight day appears to be a bit of a reset as he battles through a 5-for-38 slump at the dish. Nathan Lukes will start in right field and bat second for the Blue Jays on Monday.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Goes deep in win

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 10-8 win over the Tigers.

Garcia provided insurance in the seventh inning with a solo homer off Brenan Hanifee, his 13th long ball of the year, to push the Royals' lead to three runs. The third baseman has been swinging a hot bat lately, notching multi-hit efforts in three of his past seven games and eight times in 22 contests this month. With Sunday's production, the 25-year-old is now batting .300 on the season with 32 doubles, five triples, 13 homers, 58 RBI, 22 steals and an .832 OPS across 129 games.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Clubs grand slam

Caminero went 1-for-4 with a grand slam during Sunday's 7-2 win over the Cardinals.

Caminero broke Sunday's game open with his fifth-inning grand slam off Matt Svanson. It was the third baseman's second grand slam of his career. The long ball was his 10th of August, putting him in a three-way tie with Shea Langeliers and Vinnie Pasquantino for the most round-trippers in MLB this month. He's 21-for-78 (.269) with 20 RBI and 15 runs scored during that stretch.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Getting rest Sunday

Moncada is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

After starting each of the past five games and going 4-for-20 with three solo home runs, Moncada will receive a breather for the series finale. Luis Rengifo will step in for Moncada at third base and will bat fifth.

  • Cody Freeman SS | TEX

Rangers' Cody Freeman: Losing work to Jung at 3B

Freeman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Freeman will head to the bench for a second straight game with Gavin Williams taking the mound for Cleveland. He's capable of playing multiple infield and outfield spots and should have a regular role versus left-handed pitching while the Rangers navigate a rash of injuries, but his playing time against righties figures to be limited.

  • Addison Barger SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Heading to bench Sunday

Barger is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Barger will hit the bench in what appears to be a routine day off after starting six straight games. The 25-year-old is in the midst of a lull at the plate, slashing just .140/.196/.233 with a solo home run and three additional runs over his last 13 contests.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | ATH

Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Slams pinch-hit home run

Ibanez went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Royals.

The veteran utility player gave the Tigers some breathing room in the eighth inning, when he appeared as a pinch hitter for Colt Keith and promptly delivered his fourth home run of the season. Ibanez has settled in as a bench option for Detroit, giving the team a right-handed bat to complement the left-handed Keith, who is often lifted when southpaws come in from the bullpen. Ibanez provides valuable depth for the Tigers, though his role doesn't carry much fantasy appeal.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Smacks late home run

Lewis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the White Sox.

Lewis struck out in each of his first three plate appearances, but he managed to get on the board in the eighth inning on a blast to left-center field. Lewis is now up to eight home runs on the season, three of which have come over his last six games, during which he's gone 7-for-22 (.318) with one steal, five runs and seven RBI.

  • Cody Freeman SS | TEX

Rangers' Cody Freeman: Clubs first major-league homer

Freeman started at second base and went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Saturday's 10-0 win over the Guardians.

Freeman started the Rangers' blowout in style in the second inning, when he took Logan Allen deep to left field for his first major-league home run. Freeman has started in five of the Rangers' past seven games, including three games at third base and one each at second and in right field. His utility should afford him plenty of playing time, particularly after the Rangers placed second baseman Marcus Semien (foot) on the 10-day injured list Saturday.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Crosses home plate thrice

Jung went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored during Texas' 10-0 win over Cleveland on Saturday.

Jung was one of three Rangers batters to go long Saturday, with his two-run shot in the third extending Texas' lead to 5-0. Jung's recent struggles at the plate have led to reduced playing time as of late, but Saturday's outing could be the kind of performance he needs to break out of his slump.
