The Mets transferred Holmes (fibula) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

The right-hander was recently shut down from all activities for 6-to-8 weeks due to a fractured right fibula, so it's hardly a surprise he's been moved to the 60-day IL. Holmes is expected to require about a month to build back up to game readiness once fully recovered, so he'll likely be sidelined until at least mid-August.

The Mets selected Severino's contract from Triple-A Syracuse and optioned him to Syracuse on Tuesday.

Severino likely had an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, and the Mets have added him to the 40-man roster to prevent him from exercising it. He's posted a 1.04 ERA and 18:8 K:BB over 17.1 innings with Syracuse this season and could get a look the next time the Mets need a left-handed reliever.

Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said that Baldwin (oblique) returned to Atlanta on Tuesday to undergo an MRI, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Baldwin was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier Tuesday with a right oblique strain, but he and the club won't know how severe the strain is until the imaging comes back. That information should be available later Tuesday or Wednesday, and at that point a timetable for Baldwin should come into focus. With Baldwin and Sean Murphy (finger) shelved, Atlanta is using a combination of Sandy Leon and Chadwick Tromp at catcher.

Acuna will start at designated hitter and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game versus the Marlins.

Acuna was activated from the injured list ahead of Monday's series opener but did not play in the contest. He's back in there Tuesday and could be limited to DH duty for a bit as he returns from a hamstring strain. Jose Azocar is in right field for Atlanta on Tuesday.

Hicks is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

The 26-year-old started against three of the previous four lefties the Marlins have faced but finds himself on the bench Tuesday versus Atlanta southpaw Martin Perez. Hicks has an .850 OPS for the season but is batting .194/.293/.222 across his past 10 games. Christopher Morel is starting at first base and batting cleanup Tuesday for Miami.

Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said May 13 that Waldrep (elbow) has felt fine since he began throwing bullpen sessions earlier in the month, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Though Waldrep has made good progress in his recovery from the arthroscopic procedure he underwent Feb. 23 to remove loose bodies from his right elbow, Weiss noted that the 24-year-old hurler isn't far along enough in his throwing program for Atlanta to establish a definitive timeline for his return. A clearer target date for Waldrep should become available once he advances to facing hitters. After he reaches that step, Waldrep will then head out on what's expected to be a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment before he gets activated from the 15-day injured list.

Edman (ankle) is expected to begin a rehab assignment within the next few weeks, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Edman's recovery from right ankle surgery has come along slowly, as he's dealt with lingering soreness when he attempts to ramp things up. However, he seems to have turned a corner recently, with general manager Brandon Gomes noting Monday of Edman that "each week we're trending up and able to do more and get closer to his game speeds." The hope is Edman will be ready to go at some point in June, though there's still not a clear timetable for his activation.

Mead went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Monday's extra-innings loss to the Mets.

The 25-year-old began the night on the bench but wound up seeing a full allotment of plate appearances after pinch-hitting for Luis Garcia in the seventh inning of a game that wasn't decided until the 12th. Mead and Garcia has formed a very effective tandem at first base over the last few weeks, and over 50 PAs since April 29, Mead is slashing .324/.500/.541 with five doubles, a homer, a steal, six RBI and 10 runs. Garcia, for his part, has a .921 OPS in 49 PAs over that same period. With Brady House demoted to Triple-A on Monday, the Nationals' lineup could see a shake-up that gets both players a little more playing time, either at second base or at DH.

Nunez went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Monday's extra-innings loss to the Mets.

The speedy infielder began the night on the bench but still wound up seeing a nearly full allotment of plate appearances after pinch-running for Brady House in the seventh inning of a game that wound up going 12 frames. Nunez's steal was his 20th of the season, tying him with Jose Ramirez for the major-league lead, but he's been a fairly one-dimensional fantasy asset in 2026, slashing .187/.299/.209 in 45 games with zero homers, 14 RBI and 18 runs.

Morales is slashing a stunning .404/.472/.697 over his last 31 games for Triple-A Rochester with eight doubles, eight homers, 19 RBI and a 13:28 BB:K.

The 40th overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Miami, Morales struggled to make any kind of impact at the plate or find a defensive home during his first few years in the Nationals' system. After another sluggish start to 2026, however, things have suddenly clicked for the 24-year-old, and after fanning 30.3 percent of the time over 95 games for Rochester last season, he's shaved that down to 22.4 percent during his month-long heater. Morales has mainly played third base in 2026 after being used primarily at first base the two prior years, and with the Nats having demoted Brady House on Monday, the door would seem to be open for Morales to make his big-league debut in the coming weeks.
