  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Control issues surface again

Perez (2-4) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Orioles after allowing five runs on four hits and five walks across five innings. He struck out six. Perez has been charged with the loss in each of his last three outings, failing to complete at least six frames each time and allowing at least four earned runs twice. The control issues plagued him in this loss to Baltimore, as he was coming off five straight appearances in which he had given up two or fewer walks. On a more positive note, however, this was his fourth consecutive outing with six or more strikeouts. Perez will carry a 5.01 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 45:21 K:BB across 41.1 innings this season into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled against the Twins on the road next week.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Strikes out six against Philly

Perez (2-3) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts across five innings. Perez breezed through the first three innings, piling up five strikeouts, but he ran into trouble in the fourth with two runs allowed on three hits, one walk and a wild pitch. Perez has some of the best pure stuff in baseball, but he's been hurt by inconsistent command. The right-hander has allowed at last three runs in six of seven starts to begin the season and now owns a 4.46 ERA and 39:16 K:BB across 36.1 innings. The swing-and-miss stuff is there, but Perez needs to be sharper and work deeper into games. He's made it six innings just twice. The 23-year-old is lined up to face Baltimore at home next week.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Strikes out seven over six innings

Perez (2-1) earned the win Sunday against the Brewers, allowing one unearned run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings. Perez turned in a strong performance, cruising through five scoreless innings, including striking out the side in the second, before running into minor trouble in the sixth. After issuing a leadoff walk to David Hamilton, a throwing error by catcher Liam Hicks allowed the latter to reach third, and he later scored on a groundout. The outing was a much-needed correction after Perez allowed 15 runs over his first 20 innings of the season. The right-hander now owns a 4.15 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 27:12 K:BB across 26 innings, and he will look to build on this performance in his next scheduled start against a Giants lineup that has struggled offensively this year.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Lasts four innings Monday

Perez did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks over four innings against Atlanta. He struck out two. Perez failed to qualify for the win, as the right-hander was pulled after four innings on just 76 pitches. After averaging six strikeouts in his first three starts of the season, the 22-year-old managed only two punchouts in Monday's outing. Through four appearances in 2026, Perez owns a 5.40 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with a 20:11 K:BB across 20 innings and is slated to face Milwaukee in his next start Sunday.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Earns first win of season

Perez (1-1) earned the win Wednesday against the Reds after allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out six and also hit a batter. Even though Perez finished just three outs away from recording a quality start, this was still a solid showing for the right-hander -- and more importantly, it was a bounce-back effort compared to his previous start. However, Perez has yet to pitch more than five innings after doing so in his first turn of the season against the Pirates. Through three starts, Perez has a 5.06 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and a 18:9 K:BB across 16 frames. His next start is scheduled for next week on the road against Atlanta.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Fires four no-hit innings Sunday

Perez walked one and struck out five over four scoreless, no-hit innings during Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros. The 22-year-old right-hander's strikeout victims included Jose Altuve and prospect Zach Cole (twice) as Perez built up to 53 pitches, 30 of which went for strikes. Through 9.2 spring innings, he's posted a 15:6 K:BB, and Perez could be poised for a breakout campaign after he tossed a career-high 118 innings across three levels in 2025, delivering a 4.25 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 105:32 K:BB in 95.1 frames for the Marlins across 20 starts.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Eased into spring

Perez gave up one run on one hit and two walks over one inning in the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals on Monday. He struck out one. The 22-year-old right-hander tossed 19 pitches (nine strikes) in his first start of the spring before giving way to Max Meyer. Perez threw 118 innings across three levels in 2025, his first season back from Tommy John surgery, and while he scuffled early he posted a 3.86 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 91:22 K:BB in 79.1 innings from July to the end of the regular season. The Marlins will let Perez ramp up slowly in camp, but he's locked into an Opening Day rotation spot.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Struggles continue Wednesday

Perez (6-5) took the loss Wednesday as the Marlins were downed 10-5 by the Nationals, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out two. Two of the hits off Perez left the yard, including Nasim Nunez's first career homer in the majors -- continuing a downturn that has seen the right-hander serve up multiple home runs in four of six starts since the beginning of August, a stretch in which he's been saddled with an 8.53 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB over 25.1 innings. Perez will try to get back on track in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week in a rematch with the Nats.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Fails to escape first frame

Perez (6-4) took the loss against the Mets on Friday, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks in two-thirds of an inning without recording a strikeout. Perez entered Friday's contest on the heels of a quality start against the Blue Jays on Sunday. Any momentum from that outing fizzled out immediately Friday, with the 22-year-old right-hander allowing the first five batters he faced on board, which converted into five runs on homers from Juan Soto and Brandon Nimmo. Perez was pulled after tossing 39 pitches (21 strikes) and recording just two outs, which is the shortest outing of his major-league career since July 1, 2023 against Atlanta, when he logged just one out while allowing six runs in a loss. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Nationals.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Logs quality start in win

Perez (6-3) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six innings. Perez cruised through six scoreless innings before the first two batters he faced in the seventh reached base and scored on a homer allowed by Lake Bachar. Perez generated 18 swinging strikes on 94 pitches, completing six frames for just the second time in seven outings since the All-Star break. He'll take a 3.44 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 70:25 K:BB across 70.2 innings into a road matchup with the Mets next weekend.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: No-decision Monday

Perez did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and four walks over 4.1 innings against St. Louis. He struck out six. Perez worked through four scoreless innings before stumbling in the fifth inning, where shaky defense and spotty command kept him from finishing the frame. Overall, the hard-throwing righty has been solid in his return from Tommy John surgery, logging 64.2 innings across 13 starts with a 3.48 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 2025.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Mixed results in win

Perez (5-3) earned the win against the Guardians on Wednesday, allowing four runs on three hits and eight strikeouts over five innings. Perez allowed just four baserunners, but all came around to score on home runs in the first and fourth innings. He was otherwise excellent, generating 17 whiffs on 91 pitches while matching his season-high with eight strikeouts. While the 22-year-old has surrendered five homers and nine earned runs over his past two starts, he still owns a 3.58 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 60:20 K:BB across 60.1 innings this year. He's slated for a home matchup with the Cardinals early next week.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Shuts down Brewers

Perez didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Milwaukee, allowing one run on two hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out six. Perez's outstanding stretch of play continued Sunday, as he allowed fewer than three runs for a fifth consecutive outing. He's allowed fewer than four hits in all but one of those appearances. In nine starts this season, the 22-year-old has a 3.07 ERA and a 46:15 K:BB across 44 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Cardinals his next time out.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Throws five in defeat

Perez (3-3) took the loss after throwing five innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five, during Monday's 2-1 loss to the Padres. Perez gave the Marlins five solid innings, but the team did not give him much offense to work with. The right-hander has really cemented his status as the top pitcher for Miami since returning from Tommy John surgery, working on a streak of seven straight starts allowing three runs or fewer going back to his second start this season. The 22-year-old has been especially good over his last four starts, going 3-1 with a stingy 1.17 ERA while allowing just 11 hits and striking out 26 batters over 23 innings. His next start is lined up to be on the road at the red-hot Brewers.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Fans eight in victory

Perez (2-2) yielded a run on two hits over five innings Tuesday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Reds. Perez coughed up a solo shot to Matt McLain in the first inning but was otherwise nearly untouchable in the win. It was Perez's second straight win after beginning his 2025 campaign 0-2 through four outings. He's produced a terrific 15:1 K:BB while allowing only one run over 11 innings during those two victories. Perez now owns a 4.00 ERA with a 29:11 K:BB through 27 innings this season. He's lined up to start in Baltimore this weekend.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Dazzles in first win of 2025

Perez (1-2) picked up the win Thursday, allowing one hit and one walk over six scoreless innings in a 4-1 victory over the Twins. He struck out seven. The 22-year-old right-hander didn't make his 2025 debut until June 9 as he completed his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and while he had a bumpy beginning to his season, Perez appeared to turn a corner Thursday. He tossed 51 of 80 pitches for strikes, including a massive 20 swinging strikes, and he topped out at 99.5 mph with his fastball. It was Perez's first MLB win since June 25, 2023, and he'll look to build on this success in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Cincinnati.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Strikes out six in loss

Perez (0-2) took the loss against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 4.2 innings. Perez allowed a run in the first inning and was charged with two more before failing to escape the fifth. While the 22-year-old has yet to complete five frames in any of his three starts since debuting June 9, he threw 58 of 89 pitches for strikes with 13 whiffs and touched 100 mph twice with his fastball. He'll carry a 6.17 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, and 11:7 K:BB across 11.2 innings into a tough matchup with the Diamondbacks next weekend.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Walks three in no-decision

Perez did not factor in the decision during Sunday's win over Washington. He allowed a run on four hits and three walks over four innings and did not record a strikeout. Perez gave up a run in the first inning and worked around some traffic to prevent the Nationals from scoring again. He failed to strike out a batter after recording five over three frames in his season debut against the Pirates. Perez threw 52 of 79 pitches for strikes but still issued three free passes. He'll carry a 6.43 ERA into his next start, which is projected to be at home against Atlanta.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Shaky in season debut

Perez dropped to 0-1 in Monday's 10-3 loss to the Pirates after giving up four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five over three innings. Perez was likely operating with a restricted workload in his first major-league start since 2023 after completing his long road back from Tommy John surgery. Though Perez had some shaky command in his 2025 MLB debut, he touched 99 miles per hour with his fastball on eight of his 70 pitches. The Pirates did all of their damage against him in a four-run third inning, when they got five consecutive hitters to reach base to begin the frame. Perez possesses plenty of swing-and-miss stuff, but it could take him some time to settle back in at the big-league level. He'll try to stretch out a bit further in his next outing, currently projected for this Sunday against the Nationals.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Reinstated from IL

Perez (elbow) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list ahead of Monday's game against the Pirates. Perez has fully recovered from Tommy John surgery that caused him to miss the entire 2024 season and the first two-plus months of 2025. He finished his rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville, and across three outings he posted a 2.13 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 12.2 innings. Perez had a 5-6 record across 19 starts with the Marlins during the 2023 regular season with a 3.15 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 108:31 K:BB across 91.1 innings. Connor Gillispie was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville and Ryan Weathers (lat) was placed on the 60-day IL in order to make room on the 26-man roster for Perez.
