Miami placed Tinoco on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a left lower-back strain.

The right-hander picked up the win Opening Day with a scoreless frame. He'll be unavailable for at least the next couple weeks due to the back issue, but it's unclear how long Tinoco might be sidelined. Calvin Faucher remains the favorite to see ninth-inning work for the Marlins.

Fernandez (hip) tossed a perfect inning in Saturday's victory over the Twins.

Fernandez was unavailable to pitch in Thursday's opener due to some hip tightness, but he was ready to go for the Cardinals' second game of the season following the team's off day Friday. The 26-year-old is in line for setup duties in St. Louis this season.

Bryant is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Bryant will take a seat after he went 0-for-8 with three strikeouts while serving as Colorado's designated hitter in the first two games of the season. Hunter Goodman will get a day off from catching duties and spell Bryant as the Rockies' DH.

Farmer is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Tyler Freeman will get the nod at second base in the series finale after Farmer occupied the keystone in the first two games at Tampa Bay, going 1-for-6 with two RBI. Farmer and Freeman could form a timeshare at second base until Thairo Estrada (wrist) is ready to make his season debut.

Herrera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Herrera started the first two games of the season and went 4-for-7 with a walk, two doubles, two RBI and a run, and he'll receive a well-deserved rest Sunday. Pedro Pages is stepping in behind the plate to catch for righty Andre Pallante.

Walker is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Walker will receive his first day off after going 2-for-5 with two walks, a run and two caught stealings in the first two games of the season. Lars Nootbaar will shift to right field while Brendan Donovan mans left and Nolan Gorman starts at the keystone.

Hayes is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Hayes has gone 2-for-13 with two runs and two steals through the first three games of the season, and he'll head to the bench for Sunday's series finale. Jared Triolo will step in at the hot corner and bat seventh.

The Marlins designated de Geus for assignment Sunday.

De Geus will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to right-hander Xzavion Curry, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. The right-hander failed to win a spot in Miami's Opening Day bullpen during spring training and struggled in his first appearance of the season with Jacksonville on Friday, giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits over 1.1 innings.

The Marlins selected Curry's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Miami designated right-hander Brett de Geus for assignment and optioned right-hander Valente Bellozo to Triple-A to make room on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for Curry. Though Bellozo's demotion clears a spot in the rotation, Curry is likely ticketed for the bullpen in the short term to provide Miami with some extra coverage in relief. Curry and fellow long reliever Tyler Phillips are candidates to start when Miami's open spot comes around next weekend in Atlanta.

Marsee (oblique) appeared in Triple-A Jacksonville's first two games of the season, going 1-for-8 with two walks, two runs, one RBI and one stolen base.

During spring training, Marsee was limited to just one Grapefruit League appearance while he contended with a right oblique strain, though the 23-year-old outfielder wasn't a serious candidate to break camp with the big club even if he'd been healthy. He was cleared to play in advance of the minor-league season and should be a near-everyday player for Jacksonville this season.
