  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Leads charge in win with two homers

Stowers went 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs and five RBI in Wednesday's 12-4 rout of the Phillies. The Marlins piled on 13 hits and five homers in total, with Stowers leading the way as he launched a two-run blast in the first inning off Andrew Painter and a solo shot in the sixth off Tanner Banks. It was his second multi-homer effort of the season, with the other also coming versus an NL East foe, May 21 against Atlanta. Despite Wednesday's outburst, Stowers is still slashing just .226/.308/.411 on the season with seven long balls, 23 runs and 27 RBI in 51 games.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Stowers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies Stowers will hit the bench Tuesday after a run of 23 straight starts, during which he posted a .205/.268/.432 slash line with six doubles, a triple, four homers and 16 RBI. He also struck out at a 36.7 percent clip during that stretch and has been punched out multiple times in four of the past five games. Esteury Ruiz is starting in left field and batting seventh Tuesday versus Philadelphia.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Idle Tuesday

Stowers is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Phillies. Miami will give Stowers a rare rest from the lineup Tuesday after he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Monday. After a career year in 2025, the 28-year-old has slashed just .211/.297/.362 with five homers in 210 plate appearances this season. Connor Norby will replace Stowers at first base and bat ninth in Tuesday's lineup.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Tallies two doubles in Monday's win

Stowers went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 8-2 win over the Blue Jays. Stowers piled up doubles Monday, driving in a run with one in the sixth inning and another in the eighth frame. The 28-year-old has shown some extra-base pop of late, tallying five extra-base hits across his past six contests. The overall numbers for Stowers remain underwhelming, however, as he's hitting .216 with a .658 OPS, three homers, 10 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base through 32 games after beginning the season on the injured list due to a right hamstring strain.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Sixth career multi-homer effort

Stowers went 2-for-4 with a two solo home runs in Thursday's 9-3 loss to Atlanta. Stowers registered the sixth multi-homer game of his career Thursday and his first of the year after accomplishing the feat five times in 2025. After breaking out with a career-high .912 OPS over 399 regular-season at-bats a year ago, the 28-year-old slugger is stumbling out of the gates in 2026 following a stay on the injured list to begin the campaign. Stowers is hitting a weak .228 with three big flies, five doubles, eight RBI and one stolen base across 101 at-bats, but he does have 13 walks already.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Grabbing seat versus lefty

Stowers is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus Atlanta. The left-handed-hitting Stowers was in the lineup versus southpaw Martin Perez on Tuesday, but he will take a seat Wednesday as Atlanta sends lefty ace Chris Sale to the hill. Heriberto Hernandez will net a start in left field for the Marlins.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Doubles twice in three-hit effort

Stowers went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Friday's 9-4 win over the Giants. Stowers has gone 6-for-15 (.400) with three doubles and two walks over four games since he made his season debut after being shelved for nearly a month due to a hamstring strain. He's predictably settled into a starting job in left field and should be a near-everyday player as long as he's healthy. Stowers broke out with 25 homers and a .288/.368/.544 slash line over 117 contests in 2025, though his power swing has yet to fully show up this year.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Back from injured list

The Marlins reinstated Stowers (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll start in left field and bat cleanup in the Marlins' series finale versus the Brewers. Stowers strained his hamstring during the closing days of spring training after dealing with a similar injury earlier in camp, but he'll make his 2026 MLB debut Sunday after completing a five-game minor-league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old is expected to see the bulk of his reps in left field and could also get some looks at first base. Regardless of where he's playing in the field, he should have plenty of RBI opportunities batting in the heart of Miami's lineup.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Returning Sunday

Manager Clayton McCullough said Saturday that Stowers (hamstring) will return from the injured list Sunday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports. After playing five rehab games at Triple-A Jacksonville, Stowers returned to Miami on Saturday to be evaluated by the team. Now that he's been given a clean bill of health, the 28-year-old will officially make his season debut in Sunday's series finale against Milwaukee. He will reclaim his place as Miami's primary left fielder, though the Marlins also plan to give him a few reps at first base.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Moves to IL

The Marlins placed Stowers (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Stowers was diagnosed Sunday with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain and is expected to need 3-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery. With Stowers opening the season on the shelf, the Marlins should have regular reps available in the corner outfield for Griffin Conine and Owen Caissie, and the right-handed-hitting Heriberto Hernandez could see more opportunities against righties after he previously appeared to be in line for a short-side platoon role.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Out with hamstring strain

Stowers will begin the season on the injured list and is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks after being diagnosed Sunday with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Stowers sustained the injury during Friday's Grapefruit League contest, which occurred less than a week after he returned from a minor strain of the same hamstring suffered earlier in spring training. The 28-year-old will be sidelined for at least the first half of April, and a specific return date should come into focus as he moves through his rehab program.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Injures hamstring

Stowers was removed from Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros due to right hamstring tightness, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports. Stowers strained his right hamstring earlier this spring and had to sit out for two weeks because of it. It's unclear how serious his latest setback is, but there is now a chance that he opens the regular season on the injured list. If that happens, Griffin Conine and Heriberto Hernandez would be next in line to pick up starts in the outfield.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Looks healthy in return

Stowers went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's split-squad spring game against the Cardinals. Getting the start in left field and hitting leadoff in his return to game action, Stowers didn't appear to be slowed down by the hamstring issue that cropped up in late February. The 28-year-old went first to third in the third inning on a Xavier Edwards single after drawing his free pass with two outs before coming home on a Connor Norby knock. Stowers should still have enough to time to get ready for Opening Day as he looks to build on a breakout 2025 campaign that saw him slash .288/.368/.544 with 25 homers in 117 games.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Slated for return Saturday

Stowers (hamstring) is scheduled to return to Grapefruit League play Saturday against the Cardinals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Stowers has been slowed by mild right hamstring strain but has progressed to the point that he's on the precipice of a return to action. He is expected to play the outfield Saturday, so the Marlins won't be easing him back in at designated hitter. Stowers should be fine for Opening Day, barring setbacks.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Taking live at-bats

Stowers (hamstring) will face live pitching Friday, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports. Stowers was scratched from a Feb. 28 spring training game due to hamstring tightness and was given a 1-to-2 week timeline to return to game action. He looks to be on track, checking off a box by taking live at-bats. It's unclear if he has started his running progression yet.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Running progression starting soon

Stowers (hamstring) took 30 swings and played catch Sunday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Stowers will advance to some live at-bats within the next few days and will also begin a running progression soon. The outfielder was diagnosed over the weekend with a mild right hamstring strain and is expected to return to game action in 1-2 weeks. Stowers is expected to be ready in time for Opening Day, but he can't afford any type of setback.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Ready to go for spring training

Stowers (obliques) took live batting practice Monday in the Marlins' first full-squad workout of spring training, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. Stowers didn't play for the Marlins after mid-August last season after suffering a Grade 1 left oblique strain before injuring his other oblique during a minor-league rehab assignment, but he appears to be back to full health entering his age-28 campaign. He's coming off a breakout 2025 season in which he earned his first All-Star nod while slashing .288/.368/.544 with 25 home runs, five stolen bases, 73 RBI and 61 runs over 117 games. Stowers will be penciled into an everyday role in the heart of what could be an improved Miami lineup in 2026.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Unlikely to play in final week

The Marlins announced Friday that Stowers (obliques) is continuing a rehab program, but the outfielder doesn't appear on track to return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, MLB.com reports. Initially placed on the IL on Aug. 17 due to a Grade 1 left oblique strain, Stowers was cleared to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sept. 5 but appeared in just one game before suffering an injury to his other oblique. Though both oblique injuries look to be of the mild variety and shouldn't affect his offseason preparation, the Marlins don't have much motivation to rush him back to the field for the final week of the 2025 campaign. Before being shelved, Stowers had been one of the top fantasy breakouts of the season, slashing .288/.368/.544 with 25 home runs, five stolen bases, 73 RBI and 61 runs in 117 games.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Starting rehab assignment

Stowers (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. As expected, Stowers will begin his minor-league rehab assignment Friday, likely the last step in his recovery from a strained left oblique. The outfielder has been sidelined since Aug. 17 and shouldn't require too many games at Jacksonville before being reinstated from the injured list.

  • Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Heads to IL

The Marlins placed Stowers on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left oblique strain. Per Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com, Marlins manager Clayton McCullough noted that Stowers is likely to miss "several weeks" due to a Grade 1 strain, which resulted in the All-Star outfielder being scratched Saturday. Joey Wiemer was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville to add outfield depth, but Dane Myers and Derek Hill may be likelier candidates to see increased opportunities while Stowers is on the shelf.
