Peralta struck out eight but didn't factor in the decision Wednesday versus the Royals after giving up one run on two hits and no walks over eight innings.

The right-hander surrendered a run on two hits during the second inning but otherwise didn't allow a baserunner while retiring the final 19 batters he faced. Peralta's eight frames tied a career high, which he first achieved in April 2019 during his second MLB season. He induced 19 swinging strikes while putting 66 of his 97 pitches in the zone. Peralta has a 2.08 ERA with a 16:1 K:BB in 13 frames through his first two starts of the year, and he lines up to pitch again early next week versus the Rockies at Coors Field.

Toglia will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

The first baseman began the season as the Rockies' No. 5 hitter, but he's been bumped down a spot for the last two contests while Colorado has moved the hot-hitting Hunter Goodman up in the lineup. Toglia has gotten off to a slow start to the season, going 1-for-15 with eight strikeouts through the Rockies' first four games.

Greene (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers after giving up one run on three hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out eight.

The right-hander pounded the zone as he threw 74 of 94 pitches for strikes and generated 22 whiffs, but an RBI double by Josh Smith during the fourth inning was enough to saddle Greene with the loss since the Reds were blanked for a second straight game. The 25-year-old is off to a strong start in 2025 through two outings with just three runs allowed and a 16:2 K:BB across 12 innings, though he's still searching for his first victory.

Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Left-hander Carlos Rodon is taking the hill for the Yankees, so the left-handed--hitting Smith will begin the contest on the bench. Randal Grichuk will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup for the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Herrera will start throwing from his knees in hopes that it will help him better control the running game, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Baserunners are 5-for-5 on stolen base attempts against Herrera this season and 60-for-64 since the beginning of last year. The throwing problems have led to Herrera sometimes being removed from games he starts in the later innings when the Cardinals need to prioritize defense. Herrera clubbed three home runs in Wednesday's game versus the Angels, and the Cardinals want to keep his bat in the lineup as often as possible. Improving his throwing will help ensure that.

Myers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Myers will hit the bench after he had started each of the last four contests while going 5-for-14 with two doubles, one walk, two runs and one RBI. Three of those starts came while the opposition sent lefties to the mound, and the other start came while Derek Hill was tending to a tight back. Unless Hill's back issue forces him to the injured list, Myers looks as though he'll be limited mostly to a short-side platoon role.

Bride is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Bride will get his first day off of the season after he hit .100 while drawing five walks over the Marlins' first six games. He'll cede his spot in the lineup to Eric Wagaman, who will serve as Miami's designated hitter.

Fortes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Fortes will get a breather as the Marlins close out their series versus the Mets with a late-afternoon game. Liam Hicks will check in for Fortes behind the plate and bat seventh.

Tarnok (ankle) struck out two batters and gave up one unearned run on one hit and no walks over three innings Sunday for Triple-A Jacksonville in its 2-1 extra-inning win over Nashville.

Tarnok attended big-league camp with the Marlins as a non-roster invitee, but he saw his longshot bid for the Opening Day roster come to an end after spraining his left ankle early in camp. The right-hander had sufficient time to heal up from the injury and kept ramped up ahead of the minor-league season, allowing him to claim a spot in the Jacksonville rotation.

Marsh is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

He was in the lineup the first two times the Phillies went up against a lefty this season, but the left-handed-hitting Marsh will take a seat Wednesday versus southpaw Kyle Freeland. Johan Rojas will cover center field and bat ninth for Philadelphia.
