Sosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Sosa made five straight starts to close out last week, but he's moved back into a reserve role for the first two games of the Phillies' series in Toronto with Bryce Harper returning to the lineup Tuesday after missing time due to a bruised elbow. With Philadelphia back to full strength, Sosa is expected to see most of his starting opportunities against left-handed pitching moving forward as a replacement at second base for Bryson Stott.

Tucker (finger) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Nationals.

Tucker will miss a second straight start after jamming his right ring finger in Sunday's game versus the Reds. He is considered day-to-day. The Cubs will again go with Seiya Suzuki in right field and Justin Turner at designated hitter Wednesday.

Baldwin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks are sending Merrill Kelly to the bump Wednesday, but the left-handed-hitting Baldwin will take a seat for the second time in Atlanta's last four matchups with a righty. After he previously appeared content to deploy Baldwin and Sean Murphy in a platoon behind the plate, Atlanta manager Brian Snitker may be favoring more of a timeshare arrangement between the two backstops to keep both fresh. Baldwin and Murphy have now alternated starts over the last six games.

Gonzales is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Gonzales appears to be getting a pre-planned rest day after he made his return from the 60-day injured list Tuesday. Playing for the Pirates for the first time since Opening Day after completing his recovery from a non-displaced fractured left ankle, Gonzales went 1-for-3 at the dish in Pittsburgh's 3-0 loss in the series opener. Adam Frazier will get the nod at second base Wednesday, but Gonzales should see the bulk of the playing time at the position now that he's healthy again.

Canario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Canario has struck out at a 40 percent clip and has produced a .546 OPS over his last 10 games, and his poor contact rate is beginning to cost him some playing time. He'll hit the bench for the third time in five games while Tommy Pham gets the nod in left field Wednesday.

Davis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

With Joey Bart (concussion) going on the injured list last week, Davis started behind the plate in four of the past five games, but the former might move into more of a timeshare at catcher as Endy Rodriguez becomes further removed from the index finger laceration that recently kept him on the shelf. Davis has supplied a middling .255/.326/.325 slash line since the beginning of May and could need to improve his production in order to gain more separation from Rodriguez in the battle for playing time between the two.

Vilade is starting in right field and batting seventh in Wednesday's game against the Royals.

With left-hander Noah Cameron on the bump for the Royals, the right-handed-hitting Vilade will draw his first start since being called up by the Cardinals last week. Between Triple-A Memphis and his one plate appearance with St. Louis, Vilade has a .901 OPS against lefties in 2025.

Lile is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

For the first time since being called up from Triple-A Rochester on May 23, Lile will hit the bench as Alex Call replaces him in right field. While starting in each of the past 10 games, Lile held his own at the plate, slashing .226/.286/.419 with five extra-base hits (four doubles, one triple), three runs and two RBI. Until the Nationals get at least one of Jacob Young (shoulder) and Dylan Crews (oblique) back from the injured list, the left-handed-hitting Lile should have a clear path to regular playing time versus right-handed pitching, though he'll occasionally hit the bench versus lefties.

Tena is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Tena had started in each of Washington's last seven games while the Nationals faced right-handed pitchers, but he'll hit the bench Wednesday with southpaw Matthew Boyd taking the hill for the Cubs. Platoon mate Amed Rosario will step in at third base in place of Tena, who went 7-for-23 with five extra-base hits (four doubles, one triple), a 5:5 BB:K, six runs and four RBI over that seven-game stretch.

Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Garcia has started in each of the last seven games, and the Cubs are sending a left-hander (Matthew Boyd) to the hill, so Nationals manager Dave Martinez likely decided it was an ideal time to give the second baseman a night off. Nasim Nunez will cover the keystone in Garcia's stead.
